Blind Justice: "Past Imperfect"
My God.  If there weren't so much Jim/Karen in this episode, I would have fallen asleep.  Lame-o plot about an old military buddy visiting Jim, and this buddy has some terrible secret.  They drag it out and drag it out, and it's just excruciatingly terrible.  Blah.  But it doesn't matter, because there is some awesome Jim and Karen stuff!  So, Jim meets with Nick (previously referred to as Slimy Friend Guy in my last review) and essentially gives him an ultimatum: tell Karen about your criminal history, or I will.  Jim does not mention the fact that the FBI is currently surveiling Nick for some possible current criminal activity.  Nick is really pissed and yells at Jim about how he and Karen have fallen hard for each other, and now Jim is going to screw it up.  "What, you got something for Karen, or what?" says Nick angrily.  Jim flatly says no, he's just looking out for his partner.  Nick leaves in a huff.  Later on in the episode, Karen gets a phone call from Nick.  It turns out that he dumps her over the phone with no real explanation, and Karen is really unhappy about it.  Jim is a little uncomfortable, thinking that it's his fault, but it just proves all the more that Nick is not a good guy.  He'd rather dump Karen than tell her the truth about his criminal record.  Much later, Karen ambushes Jim.  She found out from Nick that Jim was checking up on him, and she was really, really pissed that Jim didn't come to her first with the information.  Jim keeps trying to get Karen to tell him what Nick said exactly (i.e. did he tell you about his criminal record, his current criminal activity, etc.), but she won't let Jim get a word in edgewise.  She is so angry at him, she walks away from him at a crime scene and won't let him hold onto her arm so she can lead him.  Sad!  The episode ends with her still very mad at him.  Incidentally, during the episode, he finds out that Karen is half Puerto Rican.  He seems a tiny bit surprised that she didn't tell him that before.  "Why didn't I know that?"  NEXT WEEK: The Nick madness continues.  Nick asks Karen, "Did I step into the middle of something between you and your partner?" or something like that.  SQUEE!

Blind Justice: "Leap of Faith"
Oh my.  So, ep itself was pretty interesting; a murder turns out to be a suicide, but the guy who was framed for it being a murder should have gone to prison anyway for being a despicable guy in general.  Yeah.  Anyway, so right at the beginning, Karen and Jim talk about this retirement party that all the cops are going to, and there is a bit of an awkward conversation about Karen wanting to meet Jim's wife.  Then, Jim worms it out of Karen that she is bringing a date, and he is pest about it, calling the guy her "boyfriend," and she keeps insisting that they are just friends.  It was cute, and kinda funny.  Later, at the party, Jim and Rena Sofer (what the hell is her character name?  Christie?  Do I care?) meet Karen and her friend whose name I can't remember, but I thought he looked a little slimy.  I really think that the first meeting between Karen and Rena Sofer was awkward, and why wouldn't it be?  This is the woman that spends most her time with Jim holding tightly to her arm and occasionally drawing on his face.  I just have to say that I get such a kick out of Jim holding onto Karen all the time.  Squee.  Anyway, at the party, Karen and Rena Sofer are sitting by themselves, trying to have a conversation.  Karen resorts to complementing Rena's earrings for lack of anything else to say, and that sort of gets the conversation going.  Meanwhile, on the other end of the room, Jim and Slimy Friend Guy are talking, and Slimy Friend says that Karen was nervous about Jim and Slimy Friend meeting, because she really wants Jim to approve or something.  Jim assures Slimy Friend that as long as he doesn't have a warrant out on him, they're cool.  Jim then says that Karen is watching them, isn't she?  And sure enough, Karen is subtly watching the two of them from across the room.  Jim knows her very well if he can guess that without seeing her.  Hee!  Okay, so as it turns out, we learn from another cop friend of Jim's that Slimy Friend Guy is under suspicion for criminal activity, and he is being surveiled!  Ohnoes!  Jim wrestles with telling Karen, and in the end, he doesn't say anything.  He just doesn't want to hurt her.  Cute!  Can't wait for next week!

Blind Justice: "Seoul Man"
Hmm.  Korean honor killings?  Disgruntled ex-Army thugs?  I guess.  Aside from this being a somewhat boring episode (that is, except for the part near the end where Jim and that asshole detective nearly came to blows; I sooo wanted Jim to just pop him one), there were some interesting moments between Karen and Jim.  Jim was being all "messed up" about a perp getting away because Jim is blind and couldn't see the guy, and Karen got fed up with Jim pretending to be totally fine with the situation.  To paraphrase, she told him that she wasn't sure she could trust his judgement on the case because of his personal feelings.  Of course, it turns out she could trust him, but that's beside the point.  The point is that she confronted him and made him be honest.  I LOVE when she does that.  Also, at one point in the ep, they're about to leave a crime scene, and Jim is cranky and wants to walk without her help and just use his cane.  She rolls her eyes and says "How are you gonna find the car?"  And of course, he takes her arm as always.  'Twas cute.  Rena Sofer was back (briefly, thank God), and she's working late AGAIN.  I swear she's cheating on him with that boss guy.  Oh, and they had Karen in a pink shirt at one point, as if to say "see?  she's a girl, we swear!"  So odd.  Overall, good interaction between Jim and Karen as partners, plus a little time devoted to developing them as friends.  I like.  Just no more pink shirts, okay?
