Chandler Bing

Nobody has more right to be a twisted tangle of problems than the lovable Chandler Bing. For starters, his mother is a shameless romance novelist and his father is gay-something he found out when his father came out and ran away with the family's houseboy. Ever since the long-ago Thanksgiving dinner-over which his parents broke the news that they were getting a divorce, he has covered his pain with humour, which we all love to watch.

Perhaps as a way of recreating the family he never had, only child Chandler, clung to the extremely annoying Janice for years- even though she drove him crazy. In truth no one was good enough for him. He could never see a woman, he only saw their faults. To add to his problems, he was anything but an expert lover himself. And then there are his gender identity problems. Well actually, not his exactly-but rather other people's. People always think he's gay-even going as far to set him up with other men. Joey had been waiting for him to admit it for years and even Monica and Rachel have admitted he had a "certain quality." But then, Monica has still managed to have a great relationship with Chandler, which has lasted far longer than either of them imagined resulting in their marriage. Not that Chandler’s always liked Monica, when Ross brought him over for thanksgiving long ago he thought she was nothing but fat. Their relationship has been a really funny and sweet one to watch from the start, especially when they were keeping it a secret. (See here for more)

Chandler spends his days as a computer possessor-and he’s done well his job even though he does hardly any work! However, if it were up to Chandler, he wouldn’t be in his line of work. He has no particular career goals and the promotions he keeps getting are more of a pain than a plus.

To round up, the lovable, neurotic Chandler is one of the funniest people in Friends. He’s quick-witted, and can’t say a sentence without slipping in a joke or two! Now he’s married to the equally neurotic Monica, who knows what’s next for Mr Bing!
