Pheebs landed in Manhattan when she was just fourteen. Her mum Lily had killed herself by putting her head in the oven, her dad had abandoned her when she was younger, and her step-dad was in prison. Phoebe spent her teenage years on the streets along with her twin sis (who she hates!), Ursula. Waitress Ursula is almost as ditzy as her identical twin, but nowhere near as nice! Ursula is a regular guest star, popping up in nearly every season, even dating Joey earlier on. Phoebe has found out over the years many secrets about her family. Her grandmother told her that her dad wasn’t the person she thought he was. She had always been told her dad was the man in the frames, but then found out he was a pharmacist in upstate NY. She finally met him briefly at her Grandmother’s funeral, but she hasn’t seen him since. She also found out she has a half brother-the equally weird Frank Jr! She even became a surrogate for him and his wife Alice’s triplets-Frank Jr Jr, Lesley and baby girl Chandler! At the end of season 3, Phoebe found out that her mum Lily wasn’t her birth mum. Instead, her birth mum was discovered to be Phoebe Sr, a friend of Lily & Frank Sr who lived at the beach. Even though we now know sooo much about Pheebs now, there are loads more questions about this girl’s past that have been left un-answered…

Phoebe’s love life has never been that serious. I mean she’s had many dates (She’s even dated two guys at once!), but not many proper relationships. I suppose the guy she’s probably loved the most is David, the scientist guy. He had to leave though, to go to Minsk, Russia. He returned recently for a day, where they had a teary, tender reunion. She did have a long-term relationship with cop Gary. They even moved in together, but he shot a bird which animal-loving Pheebs could never forgive. Other past boyfriends include the hated shrink Roger, navy guy Ryan, stalker Malcolm, Sergei, Vince, Jason and more! There’s always the possibility of a Joey/Phoebe relationship… (See here for more)

This lady has two careers that she loves-being a masseuse and being a singer. It’s the latter, which is the funniest to watch. Her songs are great and the most well known, is the legendary Smelly Cat. She’s even recorded it professionally and made a video!
