The episode opens up with Jack, Bridge, Z, and Syd engaged in a fun game of lightball. When Sky is asked to join, he declines because he doesn't want to be distracted from their enemy--Gruumm. Speaking of Gruumm, his latest monster, Ringbah, starts attacking the city in his zord-like machine. The rangers morph and take out the Delta Runners to fight. After arguing through the fight, Jack and Sky end up combining the Delta Runners into the Delta Squad Megazord. Though they continue fighting each other while fighting Ringbah, they still have an advantage over him with their arsenal. Ringbah's zord runs out of energy, however, and Mora contacts him and tells him to retreat. He follows orders.

Back at SPD Headquarters, Sky and Jack continue fighting even when called into a meeting by Kat. She shows them two additions to their arsenal--The Red and Green Patrol Cycles for Jack and Bridge. Sky is not happy because he does not get one. Moments later, Commander Cruger enters with bad news. They have lost communication with A-Squad, and their last message gives reason to believe that they have been destroyed. Their location was unknown.

In the spaceship, Gruumm prepares to destroy Ringbah, but Mora stops him. She states that the only reason Ringbah lost was because his robot ran out of energy, so it's not his fault. She suggests to power up his robot with the same type of crystal that powers up their ship--hellarion crystals. Broodwing points out, however, that they don't exist in this galaxy. So, they choose to use the next best thing--diamonds.

As a group of workers load cases and cases of diamonds from one location to another, they are ambushed by Krybots. The SPD Rangers are notified and take their vehicles to the scene. Jack and Bridge take their new Patrol Cycles, Sky takes his SPD Motorcycle, and Z and Syd take their humvee. During their fight with the Krybots, one group attatches a teleportation device to the cases of diamonds. The rangers defeat the Krybots, save the tied-up workers, and manage to have Jack destroy the teleportation device with lasers from his Patrol Cycle. More Krybots show up, however, and fire powerful blasts at the cases of diamonds. The rangers run and manage to escape the blast as diamonds scatter EVERYWHERE. The Krybots that attacked are defeated, thankfully, but not before one Krybot takes a gigantic diamond and escapes. Jack orders an unhappy Sky and an ecstatic Syd to guard the diamonds while the rest of the team reports to Commander Cruger.

Up at the ship, Gruumm isn't happy about the one diamond that is retrieved. He uses it to power up Ringbah's machine. While Ringbah is attacking, they hope to divert the rangers attention so Krybots can steal the rest of the diamonds. Back on Earth, Syd tests Sky's patience by trying to lighten the mood by throwing small diamonds at him. His still angered and believes Jack is keeping him away from the action because he doesn't want Sky to be the Red Ranger. Sky ends up pouring water on Syd's head, and laughs. When she points out his smile, it quickly drops.

Ringbah attacks, and Jack tells the two rangers to keep guarding the diamonds. This only angers Sky more. The three rangers manage to destroy the robot by combining the Delta Saber to the Red Delta Runner. Sky grows impatient and regroups with the team, Syd tagging along. Ringbah is judged by Sky and trapped in a confinement card. During this time, however, the diamonds are stolen and given to Gruumm.

Sky is scolded at by Cruger for not listening to Jack's orders, and is punished. Jack later tells Sky that he trusted Sky to fight off the Krybots who were going to steal the diamonds, because Jack knew Sky was a good fighter and could get the job done. The two end up making up, and Jack invited Sky to a game of lightball.

.the end.
