Just after Cruger tells Boom to take over Kat’s position and discover what the point of the spikes were, he tells the rangers what part in his past story he left out—Benaag had killed his wife, Aisynia, during the battle on Sirius. In a secluded area, Benaag holds Kat captive. Meanwhile, the five rangers crash in Piggy’s restaurant, and question him about the whereabouts of Kat. After interrogating him, he reveals that Gruumm has taken human form on Earth.

Back in SPD Headquarters, Boom explains that the spikes are proton activators, which are harmless by themselves, unless pulled from the ground without being deactivated. He also explains that if a “nega-neutron accelerator” is placed in the middle, it will cause huge seismic activity. RIC enters the room, and he is badly damaged. He comes with a message from Benaag, which reveals that Benaag has captured Kat unless Cruger meets him within one hour. Kat says it is a trap, but then Gruumm appears and says that her molecules will scatter and she will vanish. Cruger sends the five rangers to stop the seventh spike from being placed. When they are gone, he holds up his saber.

The Delta Runners are deployed from the SPD Headquarters. While the Delta Squad Megazord is forming, Cruger opens up the box that Kat had given him earlier. Suddenly, the giant robot appears again, and the rangers battle. Meanwhile, Kat is being tortured by watching the metal belt around her count down. During that time, Cruger meets with Benaag, and the two exchange words, when suddenly, hundreds (literally) of Krybots appear! Cruger holds up his morpher and morphs into the SPD Shadow Ranger! He then takes on 100 Krybots, and is successful. After another troubling battle, Cruger saves Kat, and the rangers defeat the robot in their zord. When Cruger charges Benaag of the destruction of planets and trouble across the galaxy, he is found guilty. When he is charged with the disappearance of Cruger’s wife, he is found innocent. He uses the Shadow Saber to trap Benaag in a card.

Back in Gruumm’s ship, he appears to be interrogated by an unseen force. Gruumm says he fears no one—except the unseen force. Back at Piggy’s restaurant, the rangers, Cruger, Kat, and Boom “enjoy” a glass of gutter water.

.the end.
