So..yeah...for no apparant reason, Jack and Cruger and sword training, and Jack gets his arse kicked in combat. Jack then says he can do better if he uses the Shadow Saber, but Cruger says "NO", like JACK is the dog, here. Meanwhile, Gruumm talks about using the legendary from Kioto Japan, Katana. In SPD Headquarters, Bridge tests out his new method of reading people's minds, and it works! But the alarms sound off because of an abnormal energy reading in Japan...Katana has been sent to present time via time portal, and appears to be clueless of his surroundings. So the rangers head out.
The rangers arrive in Kioto, and Bridge uses his newfound powers to find Katana. The rangers find him attacking people wrongfully, thinking that they are invaders. They all begin to fight, and the rangers have trouble fighting him. It gets tougher when Broodwing shows up with some Krybots. He even manages to brainwash Katana, who leaves the fight, into thinking that the rangers are evil. When the rangers try to search for him, they are intercepted by a giant robot that sucks buildings into its body.
Unable to call on their zords, Cruger orders Kat to move the entire Delta Base to Kioto. Meanwhile, the rangers try to fight Katana, again, but continue to have trouble. Kat uses the base's hyperspeed mode, and the Delta Base is in Kioto quickly. Cruger knows it is a bad decision to leave Newtech unprotected, but he takes the risk. The zords are launched and the rangers fight, but end up returning their zords in favor of the Delta Command Megazord. When they discover a Bluehead is piloting the robot, Cruger orders Jack to find Katana to find out Gruumm's true motive. Jack begs (like a dog) to use the Shadow Saber, and he agrees. The Delta Command Megazord destroys the robot and returns the buildings. Jack has a battle with Katana and wins, who agrees to return home. When he enters the time portal, it transforms into a ball of light and flies around..the rangers return home.
Back at SPD, Cruger reveals that while they were in Kioto, Gruumm had taken advantage and raided an iridium plant. They still do not know his plans. As they leave the room, the same ball of light is seen flying by. Later, Cruger tells Jack he didn't really give him the Shadow Saber, but a fake one. It was all in his mind, and he can still fight well without using the Shadow Saber...so Jack challenges him to another fight.
.the end.
