That's one way to make up

Disclaimer: Joss owns them, not me. And Survivor owns the song

Distribution: Sure if you already have my stuff. If not, then just let me know. And oohhh, it's going on MY SITE!!! (gee, think I'm excited?), http://fromsimplethings.homestead.com/fic.html

Notes: I hate college. Stupid finals. Anywho, I've been having writer's block something fierce, but I think it just broke. Which sucks, cause I really should be cramming for my bio lab practical that I have in a few hours. Oh well.

Notes2: In random order: thanks to GM, who saved my butt from failing sociology. Carola, thank you SO much for your spiffy feedback. Sarah, I really wish I could draw half as well as you do. I think that's all for now. Heh. Maybe I should start the story.

Notes3: ~~ are song lyrics

"WILLOW!!!"

"I don't believe this. That had better not be Xander's crackaddled behind out there. It's three in the morning, it's pouring down rain, and I'm furious at him." Willow muttered as she got up off her bed. Turning off the Bewitched rerun, she walked over to the dorm's window to peer out into the waterlogged night. Sure enough, there was Xander, in all his doofus glory, standing in the rain and sopping wet. "I guess he thinks that if he gets pneumonia I'll forgive him. Well he's got another thing coming if he thi-"

"WILLOW! I LOVE YOU! I'M SORRY!" Xander screamed. "Please, baby," he continued, "I hate fighting with you. Can't we just drop it?"

Willow peered down at him out the corner of the window, but still refused to directly acknowledge his presence.

"Fine." Xander said. "You want to play tough, well, the I'll just have to bust out the secret weapon." He disappeared briefly out of her line of vision, but quickly reappeared with a boom box. Placing the radio on the roof of his car, Xander jumped up on the hood and began to sing along with the music.

"Oh, he isn't" Willow whispered softly as she opened the window to hear better.

~~How can I convince you what you see is real

Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel

I was always reachin', you were just a girl I knew

I took for granted the friend I have in you.

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment

Taking on the world, that was just my style

Now I look into your eyes

I can see forever, the search is over

You were with me all the while

Can we last forever, will we fall apart

At times it's so confusing, these questions of the heart

You followed me through changes, and patiently you'd wait

Till I came to my senses, through some miracle of fate

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment

Taking on the world, that was just my style

Now I look into your eyes

I can see forever, the search is over

You were with me all the while

Now the miles stretch out behind me

Loves that I have lost

Broken hearts lie victims of the game

Then good luck, it finally struck

Like lightning from the blue

Every highway leading me back to you

Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done

The search has come full circle

Our destinies are one

So if you ever loved me, show me that you give a damm

You'll know for certain the man I really am

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment

Taking on the world, that was just my style

Now I look into your eyes

I can see forever, the search is over

You were with me all the while~~

After he finished the song, Xander jumped off the car and stood there, staring up at the window with rain pouring down his face. Suddenly, the dorm's front door opened and Willow came barreling out straight for him.

"That was a pretty cheap shot you pulled there, Mr. Harris, playing our song like that." Willow whispered as she hugged him.

"Yeah, well, I was desperate. I had to get my woman back before she ran off with some Neanderthal."

"I'm sorry too. It was a pretty silly thing for us to be fighting over. Will you dance with me?"

"Sure Wills, but the tape's over." Xander said as he wrapped his arms around his girlfriend's waist.

"Not for us it's not."

"Getting mighty mushy in our old age, aren't we?" Xander teased

" So is our first big fight over now?" Willow asked as she swayed in Xander's arms.

"Yeah, it's over. And you're right, it was a really dumb thing to fight over."

" I guess we just need to refrain from watching 'Godzilla versus King Kong' together anymore. But I still think that King Kong really is the on-"

Xander silenced her last thought with a kiss.
