Dr. Alan Quartermaine. This smooth operator has sewn up relationships with more women than a matchmaker, yet the one constant in his life is a woman - his wife, Monica. He's lived without her; he just can't love without her.
In 1978, even though he was afraid that Monica still loved Dr. Rick Webber, Alan took her to be his wife.
Alan was going to divorce Monica in 1982, but he soon realized that she was the only woman who aroused him.
After faking his own death in 1986, Alan developed amnesia and began a new life calling himself Simon.
Suffering from a mid-life crisis, Alan ill-advisedly wed Lucy Coe.
In 1991, Alan remarried Monica.
Alan accidentally killed bruiser Ray Conway in 1993.
After having his hand operated on in 1996, Alan developed an addiction to pain killers.
