When Carly arrived in Port Charles, she made it a point to get close to Nurse Bobbie Jones and her husband, Dr. Tony Jones.
Despite the fact that Jason Morgan was falling in love with Robin Scorpio, Carly fell into bed with him - repeatedly.
Sensing tension in the Jones' marriage, Carly moved in on Tony and, much to the surprise of them both, found real love.
Even after Bobbie's brother, Luke, learned Carly's true identity and threatened her, she refused to leave Port Charles - or Tony.
In 1997, afraid that Tony still loved Bobbie, Carly succumbed to the drunken advances of A.J. Quartermaine and became pregnant.
Carly lied to everyone and said that Jason was her baby's father.
In 1998, Carly finally told Bobbie the truth -- that she was her long lost daughter "Caroline."
