Mac reconciled with his estranged brother, Robert, in 1991.
When Robert left Port Charles on a suicide mission to save wife Anna, he left in Mac's care their daughter, Robin, whom Mac raised.
In 1993, Mac proposed to - and almost married - Felicia Jones.
Mac became involved with schemer Katherine Bell in 1995.
A year later, Mac became the police commissioner of Port Charles.
After Katherine was shot, she ended her relationship with Mac.
In 1998, Felicia and Mac were married
A few years after they started having problems when Felicia developed feelings for Luke Spencer. Soon after they divorced and Mac resigned as commissioner of Port Charles.
