Zander Smith entered Emily's life in the most unfriendly way! After attending a rave, Emily found herself in a motel room next to the body of a dead undercover cop named Ted. Emily turned to Lucky, Liz and Nikolas for help and they soon pieced together that drug dealer, and rave regular, Zander Smith was involved in the murder.
The group enlisted the help of Gia, who had actually tried to blackmail Emily, and tracked down Zander at another rave, planning to plant Ted's corpse in his car and then expose him to the authorities. That plan, however, took a dangerous turn when Zander realized something was up. Not about to surrender quietly, Zander grabbed Emily and made her his hostage. With Emily in tow, Zander made a daring escape and went on the run not only from the cops, but also from Sorel, his boss in the drug ring!
After Zander's arrest, Emily convinced this bad boy to stay in town and let her help him. Zander decided to do it, but only because he had grown very fond of Emily!
