SYNOPSIS
The arrival of a new commander
at Star Command coincides with the re-emergence of Dragos, who
now has a new Dragonship and a group of alien allies on his side!
In addition to adding voice
circuits to WIKI, Parsafoot has modified the Starfire
craft to perform at higher speeds, so naturally, Jason is very
anxious to put the improved ship through the paces, despite Parsafoot's
suggestion that perhaps Jason should wait till their new by-the-book
leader arrives.
Jason decides to take the ship
out anyway, and shortly after his departure, Commander Stone's
Seeker begins to approach the Academy. Giving the
order for Star Command to cease all air traffic on his approach,
Jason zooms by, narrowly missing his new commander's ship! Stone
is extremely angered by this action and disciplines Jason severely.
Meanwhile, an unidentified vessel
enters their quadrant, but before the Academy's robotic
probe can investigate, the alien ship destroys it! Sensing a
booby trap, Stone has a destructor launched, just before Parsafoot
picks up a life sign! With only minutes to spare, Jason hops
aboard the revamped Starfire to try to rescue whoever
is aboard the ship before it is destroyed.
Once inside, Jason finds a woman
in suspended animation, whom he manages to unthaw and rescue
before the destructor can do its job. This woman, who calls herself
Samantha, doesn't recall where she came from, but remembers being
invaded by the armies of Dragos, which sends a chill down Jason's
spine: his arch enemy did escape the destruction of the original
Dragonship after all!
