Retelling of the movie Ladyhawke
May I present you with a tale, a 13th century European legend of love, curses, and a quest to break the spell and become lovers once again? A tale of two lovers caught in the web of an evil jealous bishop. Upon a time there was a knight and a lad who were lovers and the evil Bishop of Aquila wanted the lad for himself. The lad was of alabaster skin, deep blue eyes, and blond long hair. The knight had chestnut hair, caramel skin, and hazel eyes that leaned toward greenish-gold. The curse of the evil Bishop keeps the two lovebirds together eternally interlinked but apart. As Sunrise nears, the lad turns into the hawk while the knight at night has roamed the woods as a wolf but becomes man during the day, only glimpsing each other for a split second as they change. Always in torment of never being able to touch and join in union as men, they have roamed the countryside for several years, the hawk always coming to roost on the knight’s arm.
It is also a tale of Mouse, a thief also known as James Hunter Montgomery, who used his wiles and a bit of luck to escape the Dungeons of Aquila. No one has ever escaped from there and the hunt is on. Never in his wildest imaginings did he think he would ever break back inside. He is tantamount in the story and his pickpocket abilities for that he was imprisoned for help make him a hero in this glorious quest. The knight takes a vow to break into the Bishop’s stronghold and for once and for all break the spell so the two lovers can be once again and Mouse is the one to help him along with a drunken monk who has had a vision that the curse can only be broken on a day that has no night and a night that has no day.
Now on to the story.
