Brian Kinney is Immortal and he is 1669 yrs. old. He has killed 550 other immortals but he hates to kill. He is quite powerful. He is a great salesman and he owns two businesses. An antique store that caters to the more unique artifacts as opposed to furniture, like swords, daggers, and other stuff he has collected over the centuries. He has enough to keep himself in that business for about twenty years without buying another thing. He is well known in the antique world for the quality of his merchandise. He also loves to play with peoples’ minds and does by owning his own ad agency. He has never been able to love because of his fear of losing them in the long run. He would remain young as they grew old. How could he trust another with his secret? He had always thought himself beautiful and was glad to find that he died young and would forever be young. He would never have to worry about losing his looks.

Enters into his life a young boy, seventeen, by the name of Justin Taylor who is caught trying to take one of the artifacts so that he can get some money to live on. His father Craig has just beat him up and thrown him out of his house when he finds out he is gay. His face is bruised and he is covered in blood. He is desperate. He is without a place to stay. Craig, his so-called father even called Daphne's parents and told them they were not to take Justin in. So he is on the streets, scared and broke. He is also dealing with the fact that in the foray of screaming and beating him, Craig finally let out that he was adopted. They had never told him which was another shocker to the young man. They didn't even allow him to take anything with him including his savings he had in the house. He had only ten dollars in his wallet. He is not a thief at heart so he wants to get caught, hoping that maybe someone will take pity on him. He is an artist. The only things he was allowed to take was his backpack carrying his art supplies and some of his drawings and sketchbooks by his mother’s insistence. He wasn’t even allowed any clothes so he is wearing his only clothes. Luckily, Brian is the one who catches him. Their eyes meet. Do sparks fly?

Brian listens to his tale and takes him in. He senses that this boy will become immortal if something happens to him. Justin has only a month before his 18th birthday. He has to survive that long. He will get an inheritance from his Grandfather on his 18th birthday. Brian becomes his protector. Brian doesn't know who his parents were. He was a foundling. Justin was adopted at birth so he doesn't know who his real family is and has no clue nor does he care. He hasn’t even had the chance to let the news hit home. His grandfather understood him but he is dead.

One day, Brian is called to clash swords with another immortal and leaves Justin at the store alone. Their loft is above the store. The store has several levels and the agency is on the Third level. The store has the first two plus a basement. No one goes into the basement. It is Brian’s sanctuary surrounded by reminders of his past.

What will happen now? How or will Justin become an Immortal? Will they fall in love? Will Justin be able to break down Brian’s walls? Will Brian allow himself the luxury of love? Will Brian be able to protect Justin? Only time will allow us the answers.
