Lucy Knight came into County General as a third year med student of Carter's in the episode "Day for Knight." In The storm I" Carter and Lucy kissed and fooled around, but later denied any feelings for each other. Many fans (including myself) wanted to see Carter and Lucy get together, but it never happened. Lucy Knight, the blonde hair, blue eyed medical student had a career and life that was cut short in a tragic accident.

The chaos started when a patient, Paul Sobriki, was diagnosed to late. A schitzophrenic with tendancies of abuse lashed out at Lucy and her resident, John Carter. Carter was only stabbed twice in the back while Lucy had about five fatal wounds in her abdomen, chest and neck. For an unknown amount of time, they nearly bled to death on the floor of Curtain area two until Dr. Kerry Weaver found them.

An emotional thoractomy was performed by Weaver in the ER and more repairs were made by Elizabeth Corday and Robert "Rocket" Ramono in the OR. After a struggle through out the night for her life, Lucy Knight died at 2:56AM from a Pulmonary Embalis. She was only months away from graduating from medical school and joining the psychiatry ward of Cook County General
