The Barkley Odes -- Three

Eyes an intense and oh so vivid blue,
as clear as a crisp December sky,
shining with honesty and intellect,
eyes that are unafraid to cry.

A humorous mouth, an intelligent brow,
an expression of handsome anticipation.
An elegant man, expensively clad,
dapper and oozing sophistication.

A clever, nimble tongue, an incisive mind,
a brain that can reason any problem away.
A courageous heart that believes in justice
and will fight for right until judgement day.

To some, he is mentor, a guide and a friend,
beloved of his family, especially his mother.
His opinion is valued, his word is respected,
the epitome of every good son and brother.

Richard Long was an actor, we mourn his loss,
for he was most talented, handsome and clever.
But Jarrod Barkley is alive to us still
and will be so in our hearts forever.
