My Dear Family
I love them so
But there is something I fear
That you need to know.

Their medical history isn't at all typical
And it's not that I'm trying to be overly critical.
It's just that I must simply state facts
I did, after all, help cure anthrax.

My dear sweet Mother is very strong willed
but there are numerous counts
where she was almost killed!!!

She's been punched, she's been whipped
and had amnesia once too.
Why, if I was her
I wouldn't know what to do.

Valiant brother Jarrod, now he's took some licks.
On top of also being whipped,
throw blindness into the mix.

He's had numerous head injuries
and bullets in the back.
He's received unnecessary, unusual, unbearable amounts of flak.

Then there is Nick,
Head injuries are his trick.
And if it's not on the head,
it's probably in the heart.
Because it's just been broken by his latest sweetheart.

Pretty sister Audra,
Her heart is the same,
it's been beaten, been broken, been stomped on and maimed.

She's taken a bullet to the head
We can't forget that too.
Then there was a brief set of blindness
that she had to go through.

Heath's ailments are many
Too many to list.
Besides bullets and other diseases
he's been beaten by fists.

But last of all there is happy healthy me.
Because people cannot hurt
what they cannot see.
