Tom Barkley couldn't have fathered the likes of you.

You want something, that is obviously true
but why this way?

the best I've ever known
He helped build up this valley
with the careful seeds he'd sown.

He loved my mother very much
please don't go through with your plan.
He never would have committed such a misdeed
how can you discredit this man?

I'll admit to myself that you favor him a bit
in the blond hair and blue eyes
and the way you twist your lips.

But you'll never hear me say it
I'll never admit to you
no matter how much proof you dig up
or how much you think is due.
