YOU'RE NEVER ALONE
(A Jarrod Poem)
by Livvie
My Father was an imperfect man.
I'm not ashamed now to admit it.
But despite all his faults he was a very
strong man
Not even Nick's disposition could fill it.
My father was a great man
One of the best I ever knew.
I used to think that he made no mistakes
Until, one day, I met you.
Your arrival on the ranch was a shock to us
all.
Yes, you were certainly unexpected.
For we'd had no idea that you were a Barkley
Or that your existence had been neglected.
But let me be first to say to you
That I don't consider you less of a brother.
It would be a lie to say that I didn't have
struggles
But I believe I can trust in my mother.
She believes you are he, that you are a part
Of this family, in spirit and heart.
So I will trust her decision and welcome
you home
To this house and this family … you're never
alone.
