“What the hell do you think you’re doing, Boy? I told you that you were not going!”

Heath sucked in his breath. “And I told ya yesterday that I was going, Nick, and ya can't stop me!”

“Why, Heath? Just tell me why you have to go there?”

Heath looked off into the distance. “Today is the day my mama died. One year ago today. I have to visit her grave. That’s why I have ta go.” Heath looked at the ground so he didn't have to look Nick in the eyes.

“You’re not going, Heath.”

Heath was getting angry with Nick. He rolled his fist into a ball ready to punch his brother out if he wouldn't move, but Nick’s next words melted Heath’s anger away.

“You’re not going without me.”

“You’re coming with me?”

“You bet I am! I can't let my little brother go back to that place without his big brother. Let me saddle Coco, and we can get started.”

Nick slapped Heath on the back and started walking toward the barn.

“Nick?”

Nick turned around. “Yeah, Heath?”

“Thanks!”

Nick smiled at Heath and went to saddle Coco.
