STEPHEN BALDWIN is probably the best-known Rider today with a ton of feature films including the criticaly acclaimed Usual Suspects and the critically panned Biodome and Threesome. On The Young Riders, Stephen portrays the comical and carefree William Frederick Cody before he becomes the Western legend Buffalo Bill. Overly self-confident yet undeniably savvy, Cody is quick with a joke or wild scheme and possesses an uncanny marksman's eye. Probably the most vain among the riders, Cody likes buckskins and fancy hats [he wanted to put an "eagle feather" in his hat once but Buck corrected him and said it was turkey feather]. He describes himself as stylish and in more than one occasion, refers to himself as the best looking among the riders. Cody has a fascination for ten cent novels and dreams of becoming a hero -- the Western counterpart of the Man In Black. But Cody is not as superficial as he may seem. Extremely loyal, he willingly risks his life for his friends. Raised in Massapequa, NY on Long Island, Stephen is the youngest of four brothers -- actors Alec, Daniel and William -- and two sisters. His naturally outgoing and charismatic personality led him to discover acting while in high school, where he was considered "a cutup and a ham." Further
inspired by the success of his older brother Alec, he began to seriously
pursue acting when he enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
He later continued his acting studies at the Herbert Berghof Studio. Stephen
also appeared in two of the four avant-garde 1980 Calvin Klein television
campaign ads. The Young Riders is his first series. Having won first place
in the 1990 Celebrity Division at the Long Beach Toyota Grand Prix, Stephen
enjoys speed racing as well as the less dangerous activities of playing
billiards and spending time with his family.
