Facts & Figures About Christopher Pettiet

[This article came out right before the end of The Young Riders' third and last season.]

Before his young riders role, he was attending a private school in Los Angeles with actor Balthazar Getty (Young Guns II, December). They used to grab Chinese food together during their lunch breaks!

There's no question about what his favorite free time activity is... it's surfing, duuuuude (and dudettes)! Unfortunately there's not many a wave to catch out there in the dry Arizona desert, where The Young Riders is filmed. Back home in Los Angeles, you'll fine four surfboards in his room and three in his garage (that's a different board for each day of the week). Chris once got rumbled so badly by a wave, he thought he'd never surf again.

Other things he likes to do in his free time are horseback riding, technical rock climbing, water skiing and baseball.

His best pal in the world is his dog, Buzz. He rescued him from the pound five years ago.

When he was growing up, his family moved all around the country. He was born in Plano, Texas and has lived in Colorado and different parts of California. He is an avid snowskiier, who competed in the Junior Olympics.

Before he saddled up for The Young Riders, Chris appeared in episodes of TV shows L.A. Law and Doogie Howser. He was also in the big screen , in movies Don't Tell Mom The Baby-sitter's Dead (with Christina Applegate) and Point Break (with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze).

Although he's the youngest Rider, and the newest member of the cast, coordinated Chris has yet to have a horse-related mishap while riding. During the first season, Stephen Baldwin and Gregg Rainwater suffered broken feet and Ty Miller and Travis Fine had to have knee surgery.
