April 30, 2001: Someone on one of the ToD message boards mentioned that Tony Becker will be appearing in an upcoming episode of the Canadian cop drama, "Cold Squad" (which airs on CTV). I don't know if this will be a recurring role or a oneshot guest appearance (here's hoping that he'll end up joining the main cast). Supposedly, Tony will be playing a cop...which is a big change from his cowboy/soldier roles. Thanks to Jim for posting this on Debbye's ToD board, and thanks to Steph for e-mailing to let me know!
March 27, 2001: Just heard that Tony recently did a commercial for Pace Salsa. In it, he appears as a cowboy. Unfortunately, since it's an American commercial, you might only be able to catch it on American channels, seeing as how in Canada, they often pre-empt such commercials with Canadian ones...probably something to do with the government's CanCon (Canadian content) laws on the broadcasting industry. Thanks to Lisa Mitchell from Saskatchewan for this info!
March 15, 2001: Well, I read some reviews of Agent Red on the Net (by both critics and the general public) and it's obvious that the movie is a real stinker. I haven't seen it myself but I have a feeling it will only appeal to diehard Dolph Lundgren fans. I don't know how major Tony's role is but I'm betting it's not a pivotal one to the flick. Now if only he could appear in something like "The X-Files" instead...
December 10, 2000: Tony appeared in a film called Captured (a.k.a. as Agent Red in the U.S.). He plays an American naval officer named Lt. Jack Colson who, with the rest of the crew, is trapped aboard a submarine hijacked by Russian terrorists. The movie stars Dolph Lundgren, which is a dead giveaway that Captured is a straight-to-video flick. Let's hope in the future that Tony appears in something bigger, like say...Star Wars Episode 2!!! Thanks to Debbye for the info!
November 14, 2000: Tony's character, Drew Cutler, can be seen on an episode of The Waltons airing Thurs. Nov. 16 at 1:00 and 5:00 EST on TNN. He can also be seen in The Waltons Thanksgiving Reunion, on Thurs. Nov. 23 on TNN at 7:00 EST.
November 7, 2000: A Tour of Duty Convention has been tentatively scheduled for next year in Washington D.C. on October 12th to the 14th. From what I've read on the "Tour of Duty Fan Page", it promises to feature everything a fan convention should have: workshops, a banquet, a costume/dance, a charity auction, a fan-fiction writing contest...and of course, guest speakers and celebrities! A candlelight vigil to the Vietnam War memorial has also been planned for this event. No confirmation as to who the guests will be, but here's hoping that Tony may decide to become involved! You can e-mail the organizer (someone named Margaret) at margmacau@home.com for more information!
October 23, 2000: Well, the Waltons Reunion was a smashing success this year as everyone who attended seemed to enjoy it! I've been told that Tony is an extremely nice and down-to-earth guy. I heard he was even shocked at the amount of fans he has from both The Waltons and Tour of Duty! One of the people to whom I spoke was also nice enough to mention this site to Tony! Unfortunately, Tony doesn't have Internet access but has promised to check it out at a friend's place when he has the time. Anyway, I'm happy enough that Mr. Becker finally knows about this site! Here's hoping that I'll eventually receive his permission to make it an "Official" one in the future!
October 5, 2000: Debbye and Andrea, the webmasters of the excellent TOD Fan Page, have mentioned the possibility of organizing a "Tour of Duty" convention. I think this is a terrific idea for TOD fans, considering how many "Waltons" fans have enjoyed meeting Mr. Becker in person at the various Waltons-related events. If you're interested in learning more, just click on the "TOD Fan Page" link on the Links page, and let Debbye and Andrea what you think on their message board!
September 25, 2000: The annual Waltons reunion will take place on October 21st to 22nd at the Waltons Museum located in Schuyler, Virginia. For more detailed instructions and a map of the area, check out www.the-waltons.com, or contact ralph@blueridgeweb.com.
September 23, 2000: It has been confirmed that Tony will be attending the annual Waltons reunion in October. Additional information regarding the exact date, time, and location will be added in the future.
September 21st, 2000: Tony has appeared in a short film written and directed by fellow Waltons cast member Mary McDonough (who played Erin Walton). It is called For The Love Of May and has already played at several festivals in the United States. The film also stars Patricia Neal, Michael Learned (who played Olivia Walton), Alexandra Paul (of Baywatch fame), Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson from Little House On The Prairie), and RuPaul (yes that RuPaul) Charles. You can find more info about it at this site - http://members.aol.com/fortheloveofmay.
September 20th, 2000: Tony appeared in an episode of Martial Law earlier this year in Februrary. Look for it to probably rerun again (if it hasn't already).
September 20th, 2000: Someone on "The Waltons Forum" (message board at www.the-waltons.com) reported that Tony's father passed away this past July. I, and I'm sure other fans too, would like to offer our condolences over his personal loss and wish him the best.
