Genie Francis and Tony Geary appear in the Wedding Singer

I wanted to see Tony & Genie in The Wedding Singer on Broadway, but unfortunately I couldn't get out of work in time. But I left an hour early hoping to catch them at the stage door.

I'd say there was a crowd of about 50-75 people. People cheered when Tony & Genie came out but there didn't seem to be a lot of L&L fanatics in the crowd, probably because their apperance wasn't announced until the evening before, so nobody really knew about it.

So Tony & Genie come out and they are signing autographs and taking pics with everyone. I was at the opposite end of where they came out so I was just praying they wouldn't take off before they got to me, which they didn't! They went around the whole crowd until everyone who wanted to meet them got the chance.

They were SOOO SOOOO nice! Both of them! Tony is VERY handsome in person and Genie was absolutely STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL. GORGEOUS. THIN!!!!! GH does not do her justice AT ALL.

So it seems that I'm the only one in the crowd that has brought L&L memorabilia for them to sign (everyone else had a playbill). So Tony gets up to me and I hand him a magazine from their 1983 Atlantic City event! He said something like "Wow, what's this?" so of course I babble on like a fool that it was from 1983, Atlantic City, I was there for the event....etc So then Jim Warren comes over and takes a picture of me & Tony with the magazine!!!

So then Genie makes her way over. OMG, she is the SWEETEST woman ever!! I hand her the magazine and she's also like "what's this?" So I tell her the same story I told Tony and she looked at the magazine and was like "I don't have this, I wish I had this" So in hindsight I guess I should have offered my cherished magazine to her (but it means SOO much to me, that AC day was one of the best days of my entire life)...so, I tell her, I'll make you a color copy and send it to you. She was like "I would LOVE that, really!" She was so genuine and sweet!

Then I asked both Genie & Tony (separately) if they would take a pic with me. Unfortunately my pictures came out terrible...but I'll always have the memory! It was like a continuation of my Atlantic City adventure 23 years ago, but even better! :)
