The Return of Luke and Laura: Part 2

For some reason, I cannot remember which days were what. So even though this is being called day 2, it really is my second recollection. There was a lot of talk about the GH cast and crew being in Rochester. Every night on the news, they would talk about it (especially on the ABC affiliate station). But the thing that would get more attention was the weather and how BAD it was. Rochester is not known for its great weather. In fact, if the sun comes out, you drop everything and soak up the sun before it goes away, which could be 5 minutes or all day, but you never know. Just ask Karen, who still lives in Rochester for verification. LOL (Which is a MAJOR reason why I live in South Florida today.) For all the days of the shooting, the weather was cold, cloudy and sometimes windy. And one night on the news, Genie Francis in an interview not only asked if we could get nicer weather, but sent an autograph to the weather guy saying please give her warmer weather, signed Genie Francis. It was a topic of discussion for the times they were here.

With that said, let me tell you how cold it must have been when Tony and Genie had to drive in our downtown area with the pink Cadillac. First off, Tony only drove that car a quarter of a mile at the most. Whomever was in the car driving it before, was not them. And when the cop stopped L&L for speeding, Genie was acting like she was in labor, but it wasn't her acting that was so good, it was Genie trying to get warm.

And they taped this EARLY in the morning to avoid all the downtown rush. And then the car had to go by Lucky (Jonathan) and that was cut and pasted so much that you wouldn't know that again it wasn't really Tony driving the car when Lucky saw them and said "Mom, Dad?"

After that taping they went to Irondequoit Country Club to tape the wedding scenes and L&L dropping into the pool. Again, it was cold. My hubby pulled some strings to get me into the country club, but not enough for me to be part of the wedding party or anything like that. Apparently you have to have a "card" or something to be an extra. At least that is what they told me. Go figure. But from a distance (isn't that a song LOL), I could see all the people dressed up and L&L being dropped in the water. It is amazing how every little scene had to be done over and over. But the drop into the pool from what I saw, was done in one take.

Now the best for that day. The best was being able to see from afar, Tony/Luke putting the wedding veil on Genie/Laura. And it really was Tony driving the golf cart the whole time. I get chills (not from the cold) just thinking about how romantic that was.
