1. Pilot ~
Rory gets accepted to Chilton, which means Lorelai will have to ask her rich parents for the tuition. Lorelai is embarrassed to admit to Rory she accepted money from her parents. Emily and Richard say they always were willing to aid Lorelai, but she was always too proud to accept. Emily Gilmore and her husband agree to fund Rory’s school is exchange for a weekly dinner.

2. The Lorelai’s First Day at Chilton ~
Rory is up and ready to go to school while Lorelai is still sleeping. All her nice clothes are dirty so she wears cowboy boots, shorts, and a tee shirt. When she goes into the main office at Chilton she finds her mother Emily standing there. Everyone at the school including her mother seems to criticize her appearance. Luke the local dinner owner sympathizes with Lorelai.

3. Kill Me Now ~
Rory’s grandfather Richard takes her to the country club for golf lessons because at Chilton your required to join a sports team. Richard Gilmore doesn’t want to take Rory at first, but ends up having a great time with her. Rory even gets a goofy hat to wear around. Lorelai spends time planning a wedding for two brides at her inn. Except these aren’t your average brides, they are self-centered snobs. After a lot of planning things finally turn out okay.

4. The Deer-Hunters ~
Rory gets her first bad grade on an English paper. She panics and promise’s herself that she has to study harder. So she locks herself in her room and crams all day for a test on Shakespeare. Lorelai keeps trying to cheer her up and unfortunately interrupting her. Sookie gets really upset when a food critic writes a write-up about her cooking that’s very nasty. Lorelai tries to calm Sookie down.

5. Cinnamon's Wake ~
Dean catches up with Rory on the public bus Rory takes to school everyday. Rory is surprised to see him and wonders why he is on their bus. Dean appears to be there just to see Rory and gets off at the next stop. Max, Rory’s teacher, asks Lorelai out at the school bake sale. Lorelai arranges for them to meet casually at a coffee shop. Sookie bakes all the food for the bake sale and Lorelai puts out a table cloth that caught on fire with punch. Michel has to talk to some French guests looking to stay at the inn. Lorelai and Max agree they should go out, when Cinnamon the neighbor’s cat dies.

6. Rory's Birthday Parties ~
Rory’s grandmother throughs her a birthday party at their mansion. Emily invites all of the kids in Rory’s class at Chilton. What Emily doesn’t understand is that Rory dislikes the majority of Chilton kids. Rory is miserable about the whole situation. Emily asks Lorelai for help picking out a present for Rory. Emily has a hard time agree with Lorelai on the perfect present for Rory. Lorelai decides to through another party for Rory at their home with her real friends. She invites Emily and Emily reluctantly makes an appearance. Rory actually enjoys this party.

7. Kiss and Tell ~
Rory kisses Dean in the supermarket. It spreads around town fast, and Lane’s mom gives Lorelai a lecture about it. Lorelai was shocked that Rory didn’t tell her about her first kiss. Lorelai spies on Dean, but Luke tries to straighten her out. After Rory and Lorelai make up they decide to have a movie night. Lorelai invites Dean over and doesn’t ask Rory first. Rory gets angry with Lorelai, but Dean has a good time at the movie night anyways.

8. Love and War and Snow ~
There’s a big snowstorm in Connecticut, which would make traveling impossible. Rory had gone over her grandparent’s house and was stuck there as a result of the storm. Lorelai went out on a date with Max. Things begin to heat up and she ends up letting him stay overnight at their house. Lorelai worries about Rory being stuck with her parents.

9. Rory's Dance ~
Emily brings up the Chilton dance at one of the family dinners. Rory gets embarrassed because she didn’t tell her mother about it. Lorelai convinces Rory to go to the dance because she never had been to a dance before. Emily suggests they buy a dress for Rory for the dance, but Lorelai tells her mother she’ll make one. Rory finally invites Dean to the dance.

10. Forgiveness and Stuff ~
Lorelai doesn’t go to her parents Christmas party. Instead Rory goes and Lorelai is left at home feeling angry that her parents weren’t interested in her. Dean shows up at the house and Lorelai can’t believe is climbing through a window. She tells him to use the door next time. Rory and Dean go to the dance together and end up staying out all night. Emily comes over because she is concerned about Rory. Emily and Lorelai get in a fight and Rory comes home. Richard is hospitalized, and Luke aids Lorelai.

11. Paris Is Burning ~
Lorelai has a pattern with breaking up with men. She tries to break up with Max when she goes to parent-teacher night. She has a hard time cutting him loose. Paris saw Lorelai kissing Max and spread it around school to cover her family problems. Everyone at school tortures Rory and Lorelai gets a lecture from Emily.

12. Double Date ~
Sookie asks out Jackson after talking to Lorelai. Sookie sets up a double date, so Lorelai would be there for support. Jackson’s cousin is mean to Lorelai and when Luke finds out he tries to contain his feelings for Lorelai. Rory and Lane also double date with Dean and Todd. Lane realizes Todd isn’t what she had thought at all. Lane’s mom finds out and goes crazy. She lectures Lorelai and grounds Lane.

13. Concert Interruptus ~
Lorelai, Sookie, and Rory are planning to go to the Bangles concert. They had really good tickets, but Lorelai gives them away to Rory. Paris, Maddlen, Luwies come over Rory’s house to study and go to the concert with her. Lorelai and Sookie sit end up sitting in the back row. Maddlen and Luwies sneak off to a college boy’s house. Lorelai catches them and read them the riot act.

14. That Damn Donna Reed ~
Rory’s project is to take care of a baby chic. Lorelai loses the chic, and invites Luke over to help find it. Luke misinterprets the invitation. Lorelai questions whether or not she has feelings for Luke. Rory cooks Dean dinner and dresses up like a housewife. Air Date: 2/22/2001
15. Christopher Returns ~
Christopher, Rory’s dad, comes to visit. Lorelai begins to fall for him again. Christopher proposes to Lorelai, but Loreali rejects. Rory is happy to see her father. Emily Gilmore is angry with Lorelai for being so casual towards Christopher because Emily resents Rory’s father.

16. Star-Crossed Lovers and Other Strangers ~
Dean takes Rory out for their three month anniversary. He brings her to sit in an old car at night and says he’s in love with her. Rory freaks and can’t say “I love you” back to Dean. Rory and Dean break up. Lorelai meets Emily’s idea of a perfect husband and climbs out a window to escape him. Rachel, Luke’s old girlfriend returns to Star’s Hollow. Rachel sparks jealousy in Lorelai.

17. The Breakup, Part 2 ~
Tristen and Rory kiss at a party they had both just suffered from heartbreak. Tristen’s girlfriend had left him making a scene at the party. Rory had just broken up with Dean. Lorelai discovers she wants to be with Max again and goes to his house to apologize. She ends up sleeping with Max once again.

18. The Third Lorelai ~
Lorelai’s grandmother comes to visit from London. Ironically enough her name is Lorelai also. She decides to give Lorelai money for Rory’s schooling. Emily gets upset because she thinks she’ll lose her daughter if Lorelai gets the money. The oldest Lorelai decides not to give away the money afterall.

19. Emily in Wonderland ~
Rory gives Emily a tour of Stars Hollow. She show her grandmother where they used to live. Emily is disgusted at Lorelai for bring up Rory in such a place. She tries to make a perfect bedroom in her house for Rory to make up for all the things she missed out on when she was a child.

20. P.S. I Lo... ~
Rory is angry and sad after breaking up with Dean. Shle fights with Lorelai and sneaks off to her grandparents house to stay. Emily offers her a room for the night and calls a very worried Lorelai. Lorelai becomes even angrier that Rory went to stay with her grandparents. Lorelai finally decides that she want to go out with Max again and calls him. They arrange a date, and Rory goes home.

21. Love, Daisies and Troubadours ~
Lorelai and Max decide that they would like to go on a summer trip together. They want to be alone together. Rachel breaks up with Luke and “leaves” again. Rachel thinks that Luke is in love with Lorelai. Luke realizes that he has feelings for Lorelai. He sees Lorelai and Max together and is discouraged. Rory and Dean get back together. After Rory realizes what love is and that she is in love with Dean.
