Updates
08-20-06Will is doing great on BB7 All Stars. He is still in the game and causing his usual havoc on the other houseguests. Stay Tuned!
11-01-02 Will emailed me and informed me that he will be on eXtra as a special correspondent. His first segment airs on Saturday. Please check this link- http://extratv.warnerbros.com/local/index.html - for time and station in your area. Thanks Chilltowners! Congrats to DA MAN!
9-03-02>Fans have been asking about when Love Shack will be airing. The enthusiasm has been great. As far as I know, the show has been moved back to the fall from its original August air date. I will let you know if I hear about an official air date. Something to look forward to.
Chiara Berti is now out of the Big Brother house (Big Brother 3). This sucks because she cannot win 1/2 mil now and we won't be able to watch her on the show anymore. But, the good news is that her brother knows Mike Boogie and she has been hanging out with Will and Mike. Now, that is what I call a fine party. Stay tuned.
8-11-02:Received new b&w photo of Will. Posted on front(home) page. Soak up the sun.
8-10-02:Just read the article in Time magazine. There is a nice picture of Will in the article. James Poniewozik writes in the article titled, "HOT TUBS And Cold Shoulders"...
"Next season on NBC's Love Shack --deep breath--a man and a woman move into a house together, meet two dates each and kick one of their date out; then another two singles move in and likewise choose from two dates, until, after six episodes, the audience votes to award one couple the house. Memento wasn't this complicated."
8-6-02: Will posted at the main message board. He said that he is in Entertainment Weekly #666 August 9 as 'loser of the week'? That must be a mistake. The guy won BB2! Will also is in Time magazine. Date of the magazine is August 12, 2002.
7-24-02 Will is name the host of a new NBC reality series called Love Shack. Here is the article.
PASADENA, Calif. - July 23, 2002 - NBC’s alternative series continue to play an integral part in NBC’s summer programming with the preview of “Love Shack” Monday August 26 (9-10 p.m.) and the announcement of Will Kirby, the controversial champion of “Big Brother 2,” as host of the new reality series. As previously announced, the preview episode of “Love Shack” will be followed by the series premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 27, (8-9 p.m. ET).
The announcement was made by Jeff Gaspin, Executive Vice President, Alternative Series, Specials, Longform and Program Strategy. His appointment as host of "Love Shack" marks Will Kirby's first professional television job. When he made his appearance last year on"Big Brother 2," Kirby was an amateur, an internal medicine doctor looking to make a career change. The media attention he garnered while earning the nickname "Dr. Evil," and his subsequent victory on the show, helped make that possible. Although Kirby was recently passed the medical boards in California, he has focused his energies on the entertainment business. He spent the last year in Hollywood writing and developing reality series and feature film projects, which he is now selling to the networks and studios. Along with writing, Will has been studying acting and making fans in NY and LA through his great auditions.
“Love Shack” (previous working title was “Single Guys”) centers around one single man and one single woman who move into a Southern California mansion on a quest to find true love while competing against each other to win a one-year lease on a California beach house. The two singles will be introduced to two members of the opposite sex whom they will live with and date for four days while also competing in a variety of challenges. After four days, the principal housemates will decide who will stay -- and who will leave -- the “love shack.” As one person is packing up, another potential love match will move in to try and stake a claim. However, all of the contestants will remain in the running until the principals make their final selection during the last episode. Once the principals have chosen their mate, the remaining participants will vote for one couple to win their very own love nest.
“Love Shack” is a six episode limited run series produced by Lighthearted Entertainment.Howard Schultz will serve as the executive producer. Jacqui Pitman is the co-executive producer.
