TheLongRouteChapterThirtyOne The Long Route Chapter Thirty-One

Spike and Angel entered the empty apartment, throwing their suit coats on the couch before making their way to the refrigerator. They each pulled out a bag of blood, put it into a cup and stuck it into the microwave.

"To hell with this shit," Spike mumbled, pulling the tie off and throwing it on the floor. Next came the shirt, buttons popping off and flying all over the floor in his haste to get rid of the offensive clothing. Spike winced when the shirt rubbed across his injured arm and Angel took his hand.

"Let me look at that."

"Just a flesh wound." Spike sighed when he felt Angel's tongue run up his arm, gently sealing the wound. He pulled Angel close with his other arm, grinding their hips together and making the older vampire moan. Angel lapped up the last of the blood and trailed his tongue across Spike's chest, paying attention to each nipple before moving up the neck and to Spike's mouth. Their kiss was full of passion and Spike maneuvered them over to the table, pushing Angel back onto it.

"Spike, what if the others---" Angel started to protest.

"Didn't you notice the credit card is gone?" Spike gestured towards the open drawer.

"Then we have plenty of time," Angel grinned, pulling Spike down on top of him. They kissed for several minutes, Spike slowly unbuttoning Angel's shirt and pushing it away so that he could look at his shoulder. He returned the favor, savoring the taste of Angel's blood in his mouth.

"Taste so good." Spike's hand was between them, undoing Angel's buckle, then the pants and before Angel knew what he was doing, Spike had his pants off. "Want to taste more." Spike slid down Angel's body, taking the other vampire's cock in his hand. He flicked his tongue across the slit before sucking on the head while his hand stroked up and down Angel's shaft. Spike's other hand caressed Angel's balls, making him shiver with desire.

"Oh, Spike, yes, feels so good." Angel's body arched up towards Spike's mouth, one hand grasping the edge of the table while the other played through Spike's hair. "Need this, need you. Always knew how to please me. Always knew what I needed." Spike's mouth engulfed his cock, his tongue teasing as he bobbed up and down and it wasn't long before Angel came, screaming Spike's name.

Spike sat up and undid his pants, pulling his engorged shaft from it's confinement. Angel spread his legs wider and Spike's eyes dilated with lust at the sight of his lover opening himself up like that. He quickly lined his cock up to Angel's waiting hole and sank into his lover, both of them groaning as their lips met once again. Tongues dueled for dominance, hands roamed over each other's bodies, Spike's cock thrust in and out of Angel as the two lovers lost themselves in each other.

"Love the feel of you surrounding my cock," Spike said against Angel's lips. "Love kissing you, fucking you, hell I love you."

"Love you too, Spike," Angel answered, grasping Spike's ass while he pushed up into the younger vampire. "Come with me, Spike." Both vampires came at the same time, crying out in ecstasy as their orgasms washed over them. Spike fell onto Angel, careful to avoid his shoulder, and laid his head on Angel's chest. Angel's arms came around him and Spike was just about to tell him how good he felt when they heard Cordelia's voice.

"Oh, God! Scarred for life." Both of them jumped up, Spike zipping up his pants while Angel grabbed his off the floor. Cordelia, Doyle and some strange man were standing at the bottom of the staircase. Cordelia's face was buried in Doyle's chest while Doyle and the man stared at the two vampires, mouths hanging open. "And can I add 'euuuw'."

"Angel man, I know there was alot of years without sex and you're trying to make up for lost time, but isn't there any place in this whole fucking apartment that is sacred?" Doyle covered the man's eyes with one hand while he held Cordelia with the other arm.

"We were just, uh, yeah, we got back and no one was here..." Angel managed to say and Doyle would have laughed at the sight of his boss hopping around, trying to get dressed if it weren't for the dire situation the others were in.

"Hurry up and get dressed, we need help."

"Got ourselves a client, do we?" Spike gestured towards the man before realizing that Xander and the others weren't with them. "Where's Xander?"

"Those two questions go hand in hand. Cordy, grab some weapons, the coast is clear." Cordelia ran to the weapons cabinet, taking anything she could find as Doyle explained. "We were walking home and kind of stumbled across this man and his friend being attacked by some big, green demons."

"Don't forget the very large, sharp pointy teeth," Cordelia added, handing out weapons as she talked.

"Xander killed one of them but there was two left, although I think Oz had one of them down for the count. Xander sent us to get weapons- --"

"They're fighting demons without weapons?" Angel snatched the shirts up and threw Spike's to him. "Show us where they are. Cordy stay here with him." Angel gestured at the man before the three men raced out of the apartment, Doyle snatching a cover on the way out.

"How far away are they?" Spike asked.

"About a block or two." Doyle led the two worried vampires down the road. As they neared the spot where the demons had attacked them they heard Wesley screaming.

"Xander!" There was a brief moment of silence and then Wesley yelled, "Xander, don't try to move. For God's sake, hold still!" Terror rose in Angel and Spike's chests as millions of different scenarios ran through their minds. They picked up their pace, coming to a sudden halt at the sight before them. Oz had just finished off one demon, as another jumped him, Wesley was struggling to finish off the demon he was fighting as he tried to make his way towards Xander and their boy was hanging upside down four stories above the ground.

Angel started towards the ladder but Spike stopped him. "I'm lighter, Angel, let me go up. Xander's barely hanging and alot of jarring around will make him fall. You help the others." Angel nodded and Spike raced for the ladder, climbing as quickly as he could but slow enough so he wouldn't knock Xander off. Doyle ran to help Oz, while Angel went after the demon who was getting ready to take Wesley's arm off. *********************************************

Xander thought he was plunging to his death, no chance of surviving a four story fall. However, he was shocked when his back slammed into the ladder and his falling came to a halt. *What the hell?* A pain shooting up his right leg brought him to the conclusion that he was hanging by his foot. It had gotten stuck between one of the rungs and the side of the building. Xander tried to pull himself up, but between the pain in his back and the one in his foot he got only halfway up before falling back again. He felt his foot start to slip and his heart began to race with fear.

"Xander! Don't try to move! Stay still!" Wesley yelled. Xander had to agree with him. Every time he tried to move, pain would run through his body and his foot would slide. He reached over his head and grasped the rungs beneath him. Maybe if his foot came loose, he could hold on with his hands. That is if he was still conscious. The blood was rushing to his head and he was starting to get woozy.

Wesley was struggling to get to his friend while fighting off the demon. He felt the sharp teeth graze his arm and he yelled in pain. He fell to the ground and waited for the death that never came. He looked up and saw Angel fighting the demon, quickly decapitating it with his axe before making his way back to Wesley.

"Xander...we must help Xander." Wesley groaned, sitting up and holding his bleeding arm. Angel came over to check on him.

"Don't worry. Spike's already on it. Xander will be okay, he has to be." Both men watched Spike's progress up the ladder as Doyle and Oz joined them.

"Oh, shit," Oz threw the cover Doyle had brought him over his shoulders. He had followed their gazes and saw Xander hanging upside down, one leg out to the side as he dangled precariously in the air.

"Double shit," Doyle added, seeing the gash along Wesley's arm. "What can we do to help?"

Angel took his shirt off and wrapped it around Wesley's arm. "Keep pressure on this to stop the bleeding." Doyle took over and Angel went to stand under the ladder.

"Come on, Spike," Angel whispered, his mind willing Xander to hold on. His whole body itched to be up there helping, but he knew that Spike had been right. Too much shaking would cause Xander to fall and Angel knew that thought was hindering Spike from getting to the boy as quickly as he could.

Spike was climbing the ladder as fast as he dared, hoping that he wouldn't do anything to cause Xander to fall. It was only a few minutes before Spike got to Xander, but it seemed like hours.

"Xander....Xander, I'm almost there just hold on," Spike told him.

"Think I've got that covered, Spike." Xander's voice was shaky and Spike could feel the pain and fear that surrounded him even though he was trying to act calm.

"I'm right here, pet. I'll get you down." Spike tried to loosen Xander's hands, but they were glued to the rung. "Xander, you have to let go. You need to trust me." The look in Xander's eyes said everything and he let go, a little whimper escaping his lips.

Spike took Xander's hands into one of his, pulling the boy upright while holding onto the ladder with his other hand. He continued to climb until he had Xander pinned between himself and the ladder. Spike took a moment to hold Xander close, having noticed that the moment he had started to lift Xander up, the boy's foot had come loose. *If he hadn't been nearby, if he wasn't a vampire with so much speed, Xander would have fallen to his death.* That thought filled him with an overwhelming fear and he kissed Xander's neck, murmuring comforting words not only to calm Xander but himself as well.

"You okay, luv?"

"Kinda numb," Xander admitted. Spike gently turned Xander around, putting the boy over his shoulder and descending the ladder as quickly as possible. When they got to the bottom, Spike set him down and Angel gave them both a hug. After a few moments, Angel pulled away, taking Xander's face in his hands.

"You scared us to death."

"Already dead, remember? Can't blame that on me." Despite his attempts at levity, Spike and Angel could feel Xander shaking.

"What were you doing up there?" Spike asked.

"Just hanging around," Xander quipped. Spike growled, grasping Xander's shoulders and gently shaking him.

"This wasn't anything to laugh about. You could have been killed."

"Don't you think I know that, Spike? Can't think about that right now, so I...you growl...Angel gets concern face and I...don't want to talk about it. Where's that man? Did he get down okay?"

"He's back at the office with Cordelia," Angel told him.

"Not him, the other guy. That's why I was up there. There was another man on the roof with one of those demons. I managed to get the demon's attention so he could get away."

"He's over here with me," Wesley called out. The three of them turned to see a man sitting next to Wesley. Xander saw the bloodied shirt wrapped around Wesley's arm and shakily hobbled over to his friend, Angel and Spike following close in case they needed to catch him. They both knew Xander had to try to do this on his own, that was his way.

"Wes, you're hurt."

"It's only a scratch thanks to Angel." The other man stood and extended his hand to Xander, who shook it.

"I'm David Nabbit."

"Xander...Xander Harris."

"I want to thank you for saving my life. That was the bravest thing I've ever seen. I thought I was a goner until you yelled at that thing. And gosh - the way you ducked him so he'd fall off the roof....are you a superhero?"

"Not even close. See if I were like Spiderman, I could have shot webs out of my hands and climbed down the side of the building."

"Or you could have been like Superman and flown up to the roof, bypassing the ladder altogether..." David agreed.

"Yeah, that would have been cool." Xander smiled, trying to joke his way out of his left over fear. "No, I'm just your average run of the mill guy."

"Not to us." Spike put his arms around Xander, giving his love a hug.

"Not to me, either," David said. "There's not many people that would risk their lives by climbing a six story building to fight some huge, green monster just to save a stranger."

"You'd be surprised," Xander gestured towards his friends. "If it weren't for them, I wouldn't have made it up there in the first place."

David turned and shook their hands, thanking each one of them before turning back to Xander. "I'd like to pay you guys for saving my life." Xander shook his head.

"We didn't do it for money."

"Oh, so action is your reward? David asked. Everyone except Oz and Xander looked confused.

"Like Spiderman," Oz clarified for them.

"I don't know about that, but I do enjoy the violence." Spike said. Xander pointed at Spike. "This one's like Vegeta on 'Dragon Ball Z'. He used to be a pure Saiyan, but now he fights on the side of Goku."

"Cool." David stared at Spike while the vampire looked at Xander suspiciously.

"And that would be geek code for what exactly, pet?" Spike didn't see the hurt look on Xander's face as he teased him but Angel and the others did.

"You used to be evil and now you fight the good fight." Oz translated.

"Oi, I'm still evil. Big Bad here, remember?"

"Guess I forgot but what do you expect from a geek?" Xander pulled away from Spike and started to hobble away. "We better get back to the office before Cordy sends a rescue team for us. Besides, we need to take care of Wesley's arm." He stopped when he got to some of the bags lying on the ground next to the broken tree and bent down, picking up one of them and going through it. Angel turned to the others, motioning towards the office.

"Why don't you guys go on. We'll be there in a few minutes." They nodded and walked away, knowing that the three of them needed time alone. Angel and Spike watched as Xander pulled broken ornaments, balls and candles out of each bag, becoming more agitated as he went along.

"Xander, what are you looking for?" Angel asked but Xander never answered. He was too busy fishing around the bags to hear the vampire. After the third bag, Xander found what he was looking for. Tears filled his eyes when he saw his stocking. The bag had fallen into a puddle of muddy water and the stocking was torn and dirty and part of the name had come off. Xander ran his fingers across the 'Xner', anger building inside of him. He grabbed the nearest dead demon and began pounding on it. You stupid, ugly bastard! You hurt my friend...*punch*...you broke my decorations...*punch*...and you ruined my stocking." *punch, punch*. "I hate you...*punch*...I hate you...*punch*...I hate you!" Xander continued to beat the demon as Angel and Spike approached, not certain how to help. Finally, Spike bent down and pulled Xander away. Xander was still hitting at thin air until Angel stopped him.

"Xander, stop it. We'll buy more." He rubbed his fingers across Xander's hands, noticing for the first time that the boy's knuckles were bleeding.

"You don't get it. Nobody understands. Why would they? I'm just a big, stupid geek who can't do anything right." Spike turned Xander so that he and Angel could both talk to him.

"Xan, you know I was only teasing you. I don't think that's what's really bothering you, now is it?"

"No."

"So tell us cause we're not leaving this spot until you do."

"Fine, you want to know, I'll tell you. I thought after fifteen years I was finally going to have a nice Christmas. My friends take me out shopping, put up with me acting like some stupid, little kid, walk instead of drive because I want to look at the lights, carry all this stuff and a tree all the way back just to make me happy and what do they get for their troubles? Attacked by demons. Why? Because I'm a fucking demon magnet, because the Gods looked down and said hey, that guy isn't a good enough person to deserve all that happiness, he isn't anything special and this is the result. Broken dreams and friends getting hurt because they're worried about my sorry ass. If we had taken the van like everyone wanted to, if I hadn't tried to be a superhero even though I know I'm not, then Wesley wouldn't have been hurt. Hurt. What am I saying? He probably would be dead right now if it wasn't for you guys coming to save the day. I'd be dead...oh, God I almost died...my foot kept slipping and I just kept hanging there waiting to die and...and...I can't understand why I'm so terrified this time. I've been scared of dying before but never like this. I was scared when praying mantis lady was getting ready to bite my head off, when Angelus and Drusilla almost bit me during that love spell, when the mayor was going to kill us during graduation so what makes this different? Why can't I shake it off like I did all the other times. Why can't I quit shaking period? What the fuck's wrong with me?" Xander's babbling ended when he started to cry, his knees finally giving out on him. Angel and Spike reached for him and all three ended up on the ground, Xander in between the two vampires who tried to comfort their boy with gentle kisses and caresses. They whispered words of love and reassurance over and over until Xander's sobs ended.

"Can...can we go home now?" Xander asked.

"Whatever you want, luv. Can you walk or do you want one of us to carry you?" Spike got ready to pick his lover up, but Xander shook his head.

"I can walk as long as you guys help me. I need to." Spike and Angel helped Xander up and they slowly made their way back to the apartment. Before they could get to the door, Cordelia had it open and was rushing towards them.

"Thank God you're home. Doyle and Oz told me what happened. Are you okay?" Cordelia hugged Xander, stepping back to take a good look at him.

"I'm fine, Cordy. Just a little tired. Where's Wes?"

"He's asleep on the couch. I cleaned and bandaged his arm before I gave him a pain pill."

"So he's going to be okay?" Xander looked over at his friend.

"Yeah, it looked worse than it was. Didn't need stitches." Cordelia took a closer look at Angel's bare chest. "What happened to you?"

"Flesh wound," Angel answered, trying to get past the girl and failing.

"Don't flesh wound me, mister. You were staked weren't you?" Xander stopped, turning to look at the wound.

"Angel, I'm sorry. I was so into what happened with me I didn't notice. Let me see." Before Angel could stop him, Xander ran his hand gently over Angel's body, noticing that there was another scar on his back. "Someone almost killed you. If that had been a few inches to the left..." Xander couldn't finish, his body starting to shake again at the thought of something happening to Angel. He wrapped his arms around Angel's waist, holding him close.

"Xander, it's okay. I'm fine."

"You are so not fine. What if that gets infected. Sit down in that chair and let me bandage you up."

"Cordelia, vampire here remember? We don't get----"

"What did I just say?" Xander backed off, a smile on his face.

"Better do what she says or you'll never hear the end of it." Xander gave Angel a kiss before leading the vampire over to the chair Cordelia had pointed towards. While Cordelia fussed over Angel, Xander made his way back to Spike.

"Take your shirt off, Spike." Spike's innocent blue eyes darkened.

"Oh, Xander I love it when you get demanding." He playfully batted his eyelashes at Xander, trying to act like he had misunderstood what Xander was doing, but the boy wasn't falling for his act.

"I know what you're trying to do, Spike." Xander started to take the shirt off and Spike pulled him into a kiss. *If words wouldn't work, then this definitely would*. Xander's hands left the shirt, one of them going around Spike's waist to rub along the small of his back while the other went around the back of his neck and Spike deepened the kiss, pulling Xander closer until their bodies were pressed against each other. Xander parted his lips and let Spike slip his tongue inside his mouth and both of them got lost in their passion, neither of them thinking about anything but each other's taste and the feel of their bodies against each other.

"Excuse me, other people present in the room." Doyle said, bringing them out of the moment.

"And I've already seen enough of you tonight, Spike," Cordelia added.

"What is she talking about?" Xander asked.

"Nothing much. Just caught Angel and I during a make out session," Spike answered, trying to lead Xander towards the bedroom. Xander stopped to look at Doyle and Cordelia.

"You went into our bedroom? Without knocking? Are you crazy?"

"We're not that crazy," Doyle assured him. "We found them on the kitchen table."

"Kinky. Was there food involved?" Oz asked and Cordelia glared at him.

"Men are so crude. That is so gross."

"Try it some time and then tell me that," Spike challenged, enjoying the blush that crossed Cordelia's face. Xander took that moment to jerk Spike's shirt down and he cursed when he saw Spike's arm.

"Fucking asshole." Xander growled and Spike looked hurt. "Not you, Spike. Lindsey. Bastard deserves a good ass kicking for this." Xander drug Spike over to a chair, trying not to wince at the pain in his back and foot.

"Actually, he already got one, Xander," Angel told him. "Spike broke a few ribs and I think it's fair to say Lindsey's going to have one major headache for awhile. Oh, and I think he's minus a few teeth."

"That's my Spike." Xander gave Spike another kiss, making sure the vampire knew just how much he loved him. They were interrupted again when Angel tapped Xander on the shoulder.

"I helped by watching his back." Angel told him, making Xander grin.

"You always do, Angel." Xander gave Angel a kiss that held as much emotion as the one with Spike and the three were beginning to get very turned on - that is, until Cordelia and Doyle loudly cleared their throats and Oz yelled, "Still here."

Angel led Xander over to a chair in the living room and sat down in it, pulling the boy onto his lap. He noticed Xander flinch and knew he was definitely in pain. "Where are you hurt?"

"Not really hurt. Just a little sore." Xander answered. Angel raised Xander's shirt and saw the big bruise on his back. He poked it and Xander groaned. Spike saw the bruise and started to get up but Cordelia pushed him back down in the kitchen chair.

"Sit. I'll be done in a few seconds, I promise. Doyle, get the pain pills back out."

"No, I don't want any..." Xander flinched when he tried to turn and Angel held him still.

"You need something, Xander. I can smell the pain coming off you every time you try to move." Xander turned back to Angel and snuggled close while Angel tried to take his shoe off.

"Let's look at your foot."

"Let's make out." Xander suggested, trying to get Angel's mind off of pain pills and ankles. He kissed Angel slowly, nibbling at his bottom lip before taking his mouth in a kiss, his tongue running across the vampire's lips. Angel's hand slid up his leg coming to rest on Xander's hips. He turned the boy towards him intent on hiding his groping from the rest of the group, but when Xander moaned Angel knew it wasn't just passion - it was pain.

"That's it," Angel took the pills and glass of water from Doyle. "Take these, now." Xander was going to argue with him but Angel's tone of voice told him it was useless to try. He took the pills and laid his head on Angel's chest.

"Tell me what happened tonight," Xander gently touched Angel's shoulder.

"Yeah, we want to hear about Spike kicking Lindsey's ass. And how did you two get past the guards Xander said hung out in the lobby?" Cordelia finished with Spike and both of them joined the group, Cordy sitting down on Doyle's lap and Spike sitting on the arm of the chair Angel and Xander were occupying. They filled everyone in on the details, Angel taking great pleasure in telling them about Spike's discomfort. Everyone laughed and Xander pouted when they told him the wig had gotten lost in the fight.

"Angel, you'll have to buy him another one, so I can see how cute he looks in it."

"Not bloody likely," Spike argued.

"That's no fair. I never get to have any fun."

"What do you call tonight...well, before the demons anyway?" Doyle asked and Xander smiled sleepily.

"That was fun. I guess the good thing about losing all that stuff is we get to go buy it again." Oz, Cordelia and Doyle groaned. "What? Didn't you guys have fun?"

"It was nice," Cordelia admitted. "But next time we take the car or the van."

"And we get to go, too. I hate the fact that Spike and I missed out on the fun. Tell us about your night."

"Normal Christmas shopping, but it was new to me. Never done that before. Decorations, a fire truck and a Betsy Wetsy, too." Xander yawned. "Had to mop, got stockings and they....spelled my name with a Z. And then ---" Xander's voice trailed off when he finally gave up fighting the pain pill's effects.

"Xander? Pet?" Spike brushed Xander's hair from his face, smiling when he saw the boy was asleep. "Conked out on us." He placed a gentle kiss on Xander's forehead before turning to the others. "Now, who wants to interpret what he just said? What the soddin' hell is a Betsy Wetsy?"

"I can tell you," Cordelia pulled the pictures from her purse. "With visuals. I thought you two might be upset about not going so I documented the highlights." She passed the pictures over to Angel and he started going through them while Spike looked over his shoulder. They laughed when they saw the pictures of a wet Xander and Doyle having a water fight as Cordelia filled them in on what had happened. Their smiles turned sad when they came to the pictures of Xander and Wesley looking in the store windows.

"Neither one of them must have ever had a nice Christmas." Spike said.

"I don't know what Wesley's deal is, but I met Xander's parents. Believe me when I tell you, that was not a picnic. I can't even begin to imagine spending a holiday with those two. It made me appreciate my parents even if they weren't around alot."

"Well, this year is going to be different - for both of them." Angel vowed, placing the pictures on the table next to him. "Spike, take Xander. We need to get him into bed." Spike picked Xander up and carried him to the bedroom while Angel talked to their friends.

"There's a cot in the spare bedroom, Oz. Cordy and Doyle you can take the room, if you guys want to spend the night." Everyone nodded, all of them wanting to be together after what had happened to Wesley and Xander.

Angel walked into the bedroom, closing the door behind him. Spike noticed how tired the vampire looked and gave him a comforting hug. He knew he must look just as bad. They had almost lost their lover and a friend tonight. Angel sat down on the bed, tracing his finger down Xander's cheek before leaning in and giving the boy a gentle kiss. Spike was examining Xander's foot which was bruised and swollen.

"How's his foot?"

"Not broken, but it's going to be sore for awhile. Swollen up quite a bit." Angel heard the tension in Spike's voice and patted him on the shoulder. "Angel, we came so close to losing him tonight. When I felt his foot slip----"

"Don't go there, Spike. Xander's going to be okay and so is Wesley."

"But what about the next time? And the time after that?" Spike turned to look at Angel. "What have we gotten ourselves into? Falling in love with a human. Surrounding ourselves with a mortal family? Are we insane?"

"I know how you feel. I vowed after Buffy that I would never fall in love with another human. That I wouldn't be friends with mortals like the Scoobies ever again. I cared about all of them, even Xander and that didn't turn out well. When I came to L.A. I made the decision to be by myself, but then Doyle and Cordelia came along and they made their way into my heart just as Wesley and Oz have. And Xander - that really slipped up on me. I kept telling myself I was only worried about him because he was Buffy's friend and then mine but I knew that wasn't true. I finally had to admit that Xander had completely stolen my heart. I tried to fight it but---"

"You couldn't. I get that. Didn't much fancy myself with a human either. I definitely didn't want to have human friends, but after I had been here for awhile that changed, too. My love for them scares me. I don't know what I would do if we lost any of them. I'm terrified of losing Xander. Don't think I could go on if something happened to him. The only thing that would save me from waiting for the sun would be you. But the funny thing is, as terrified as I am of losing him, of losing our friends, I'm not willing to give any of them up, especially Xander. I've waited my whole soddin' life for a family that loves me like they do and I'm not turning my back on that. No matter how much Xander scares me every time he fights demons, I wouldn't change what we have with him for the world. Would you?"

"No. I can't imagine my life without Xander in it. Or you. It wouldn't be the same without the three of us together, would it?" Spike knew exactly what Angel was feeling.

"No, it wouldn't." Spike placed his hand on Angel's shoulder, giving him a comforting squeeze. "I think we've had enough brooding around here for one night. What say you and me have a little fun in the shower while Xander rests? I want you, Angel."

"I want you too, Spike." Angel took one last look at Xander before following Spike into the shower. Spike undressed quickly, turning on the shower before reaching for Angel. He pulled the other vampire into the shower and began to kiss him, gently at first and then more demanding. Spike soaped his hands, running them over Angel's body. He turned Angel around and slid a finger into Angel's body. Angel groaned and pushed back onto Spike's finger.

"Need you, Spike. Not your fingers, need your cock buried inside me, making me feel whole. Please Spike make me feel whole." Spike pulled his finger out replacing it with his cock. He pushed inside Angel's hole and both men gasped, feeling the age old connection between them. Spike began to move, taking Angel slowly at first until the urge became too much and he started pounding into the vampire. "Always loved you, Spike. Please know that. I've always loved you."

"I know that, Angel. Loved you, too. Always and forever. Eternal." Spike was punctuating every sentence with a kiss and he knew they weren't going to last much longer. He took Angel's cock into his hand and began to stroke it in rhythm with his thrusts, hearing Angel scream his name as his cum jetted over Spike's hand and against the bathroom wall. Spike felt Angel stiffen, felt the muscles contracting around his cock and he answered the scream, shooting deep inside Angel. The two vampires stood, Angel leaning against the tile and Spike resting on him, for a long time before Spike pulled out of Angel and turned the older vampire to face him.

"Your turn."

It was over an hour before the vampires returned, feeling better from the lovemaking and the shared connection. They got into the bed, one on each side of Xander, snuggling into the warmth the boy offered. Soon, all three of them were asleep.
