Hercules and the Lost Kingdom

Renee was listed third in the credits at both the beginning and the end of this episode. In fact, she seemed to be in this episode more than Kevin Sorbo was.

Robert Trebor, who is, of course, Salmoneous was listed fourth in the credits. I notice things like that.

There are some very impressive (at least to me) special effects in this movie. The first of which is the water creature which kills one of the runners very early in the episode.

Then there was the giant that bit the dust, thanks to Hercules. Whoever got the idea to sharpen his teeth should get credit for thinking up a disgusting and effective idea!

That gourd that Hercules gave the runner the drink out of was absolutely filthy. No wonder the guy died!

But it was another cool special effect as the guy turned to dust.

Uh…Renee's first appearance in this one is certainly memorable. Decked out in makeup and wild clothes tied to a stake. And what's up with the wicker Madonna breasts?

Uh…Hercules has her breasts in his hands…literally!

Her hair is more brown than either red or blonde in this one. It took some getting used to.

And her name is Deineira, which will take some getting used to!

But she definitely had Gabrielle's spunk!

And a gift for gab.

Somehow though, she walks differently, less feminine in this role.

Gods, the "attractive virgin" at the auction was the stuff of nightmares!

Denny (that's Renee's character), could do with a bit of makeup. She doesn't look bad exactly…just a little underdone.

Why was she amazed by how animated the bidding was on Hercules? It was to be expected.

Robert Trebor, in his role of Waylin, also looks very different in this one.

Denny kills me…"Excuse me, Eunuch?"

And then a moment later…"Slave, Eunuch…same difference."

Todd Ripon is yet another evil bad guy in this one. He played Goliath, and the killer from Tsunami.

Denny has a lot of pluck, "The hell we are!" in reference to Hercules saying they are prisoners.

I feel sorry for Denny. She finds her Dad, and he dies less than two minutes later.

Renee really has a plum role in this movie.

Later in the episode, she gets a much better wardrobe, which helps a lot.

The mask that the Blue Warrior wore looks like an Amazon mask.

I dunno who the Blue Warrior is supposed to be, but it looks to me like Denny is going to be killed by a decrepit Smurf.

His voice sounds awfully familiar…he was Morpheus' henchman in Dreamworker as well.

This movie is just like Hercules and the Amazon Women in that I just plain lose interest in it. I'd much rather watch the worst episode of Xena than this.

But it was nice to see Renee take a starring role in this movie.
