Wow...it's 2004 already? That kind of spooked me a little!
But on to the business at hand, I would like to offer many thank you's to the people who have written asking for more of Within and/or the scrolls! I only intended to take a couple of weeks off from posting to get "ahead" of the story again, but other factors have taken hold, including a family tragedy that I am still dealing with. All I can offer is apologies, and my word that there will be more chapters of Within coming very soon, in hopes that my readers can hang in there! I sincerely apologize for the delay!

We are pleased to announce that since Taking Risks has been completed, next week's addition ot the site will be Scroll 62. Thank you to all who wrote to say they missed the scrolls! We've missed them too, and though they may be back in only a limited capactity, they are back. I'll give more details as soon as I have them.

To our XXX Scroll Fans:
I appreciate all the great emails Shana has forwarded concerning my mini-break from our Scroll writing. My 26-hour days have caught up with me and I'm having more and more trouble finding any creative time. What a bummer to have to work for a living.
But this isn't the end. Shana and I talked Sunday night about how we are going to continue our Eve scroll, and I saw then how much I already miss writing. Writing Gabrielle's side to the story allows her to stay alive for me as well as for you guys.
Yet, I'm happy to give Shana some creative freedom to write about a project she has undoubtedly considered for quite some time. I plan to follow along each week and hope you will do the same. She never disappoints.
I sincerely appreciate each of you who read our Scrolls. It's nice to see that you enjoy it as much as we enjoy writing it.

Hello Readers,
We’re sure you’ve noticed that for the last few weeks, Gabrielle’s scrolls have been posted later and later. We apologize for
that, but unfortunately, real life has to take precedence.
My partner, Kye, has always worked too many hours at her job, and unfortunately, for the next few weeks,
her workload is going to increase even more. She has struggled long and hard with this, but it has gotten to the point where
she simply won’t be able to write Gabrielle’s scrolls for a while.
We’ve talked a great deal on the subject, and decided to take a break from the scrolls for a little bit of time…possibly a
couple of months. Scroll 61 ends in the middle of a story, and we did that on purpose. Consider it a “cliffhanger”…a season ender, if you will. As soon as Kye is back, we will finish the story, and what an emotional one it’s going to be!
So…you may be wondering what’s going to happen in the meantime? My job isn’t as demanding as Kye’s, and I am going to keep writing, updating the site once a week. The question is, what do I write?
I’ve got lots of ideas, but I decided to start with the one that I think about the most. It’s an uber tale, but not in the traditional sense. My idea of an uber is probably different than the average fan’s. The uber characters I am writing about ARE Xena and Gabrielle, just in a different time and place. I will begin presenting my tale next week, and it will take several weeks to tell it.
For those of you who like the Coming Next Week’s feature, in Chapter 1 of the so-far unnamed story, Gabrielle Summers sets out on an expedition with a group of men to try to locate the creature with the blue eyes which has been spotted in the Saskatchewan forest. That ought to give you a really good idea of what the story will be about.
I sincerely hope the readers will give my new tale a read, even though it will be quite different from the scrolls. It starts out mild, but don’t worry, within a couple of weeks, the action will heat up to the level of the scrolls. For now, I will post the chapters on the new Scroll page, but when we start back up with the scrolls again, I’ll locate them somewhere else.
We appreciate all the support and kind words from our readers at the site! Kye feels really bad about the situation she’s in, and I don’t want her to! She has made tremendous sacrifices to write Gabrielle’s scrolls thus far, and I can never thank her enough for her contributions. She is the best partner I could ever ask for!

remember…this is not the end of the scrolls…this is just fall hiatus with a new mini-series filling in. If you want to watch some reruns, please go back and read some of the older scrolls. You never know what you might have missed!
