WWF NEWS/RUMORS
*JERRY THE KING
In a story reported by Bob Ryder, part of Jerry Lawler's campaigning in Memphis includes WWF promises. Jerry Lawler says that if elected the WWF agreed to "Adopt the Memphis City School Systems". Also he talked about putting a ring at school so when the people want to settle their differences, instead of hitting the play ground or basketball court they can hit the ring. Sounds good to me.
*COMING SOON..
Here are some coming soon's to the WWF...Cryan Mower, who was found on the WWF's casting call for their women's wrestling program, well she's training with Ivory right now. She has a past as a stunt women and will be joining the ranks of the new generation of lady wrestlers in the WWF. Erin O'Grady who attacked Godfather on Raw recently is coming in soon to feud with the Big Shot Bob Holly. Here are three names out there right now who will be working the WWF's indy circuits while they are currently under developmental contracts Rico Cosanito, Russ McCullough, and Stefan Gamlin.
*WWF TIDBITS
According to the RWIN the WWF is interested in hiring a writer who worked for the Conan O'Brien program on NBC to start writing for WWF's Smackdown. They are saying the Big Show is being teamed with the Undertaker is so Undertaker's work ethic will rub off on him, kind of interesting that this is happening to a multiple time world champ(But that was WCW obviously). Also they say there is a good chance that Jeff Jarrett will get phased out once Debra leaves his side. Why would they want to break them up then is what I want to know?
*Wade Keller says Stone Cold Steve Austin has been frustrating WWF management lately, after he had continued to veto ideas for television matches.
On the 7/26 Raw is War from Cleveland, Ohio, management proposed an Austin vs. Jeff Jarrett short singles match, which would result in Triple H interfering. Austin vetoed the match. Management then proposed an alternate plan of Austin taking on Mr. Ass, which would also result in Triple interfering, but Austin turned that down. Austin's argument was that Jarrett and Ass weren't over enough yet to deserve the rub of fighting him on television, which automatically destroys the potential program between Jarrett and Austin. The next day at the Raw Tapings in Columbus, Ohio, Austin turned down the idea of wrestling in a handicap-tag team match of he and The Rock against Ass, Triple H, and Chyna. Management instead decided on another Austin vs. The Undertaker match, which resulted in lower-quarter hour ratings.
The frustration for management is caused by Austin's short list of wrestlers who he believes is worthy of wrestling him (The Undertaker, Kane, The Rock, Mankind). Management believes it is time for Austin to give Jarrett and Ass the same rub that Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker gave hime when he was rising to the main event level. Austin's critics within the WWF argue that he needs opponents to stay hot, so the best thing to do is have a plan of where those wrestlers are going to come from. On the other hand, Austin's sympatheizers believe his vetoes will force management to do a better job preparing and building his next generation of opponents.
Austin won't go out of his way to do any favors for Jarrett, because both are not close behind the scenes and there has always been tension ever since Jarrett did a return interview in the WWF and referred to the Austin 3:16 gimmick as blasphemous. As for Ass, also known as Billy Gunn, nobody seems high on him, since he seems more concerned with his physical appearance than learning things to get himself to a top, main event heel spot. Gunns patterns himself after Shawn Michaels in and out of the ring, but those who have been around, argue that Michaels could back up his arrogant attitude behind the scenes because he was a student of the game, whereas Gunn is a student of self-admiration.
WCW/NWO news/rumors
*LOTS OF STUFF
Reports have Hogan eating his words, while Bill Goldberg was injured and having contract disputes with WCW, Hulk Hogan took that opportunity to bash Goldberg on many public forums including Larry King Live. Well since Goldberg's back Hulk Hogan apologized to Bill Goldberg and Goldberg accepted. Hogan probably assumed Goldberg wasn't returning, and was taking pot shots while he could before he showed up on WWF. Also note this week's Nitro marks the return of Tony Schiavone to Monday Nitro(Oh Boy...). Jason Hervey was supposed to be brought back as a color man for Nitro, but they canned the idea because everybody agreed he didn't belong on Nitro.
*NEW JAPAN & WCW
According to the RWIN New Japan wants to work their press that WCW & New Japan's relationship is breaking up, New Japan has actually got together with WCW and will be getting Hogan for their Tokyo Dome Show they also want Hulk Hogan. In their report Hogan has been quoted as saying that it's time for Hulk Hogan to come back to Japan to sellout the Toyo Dome. Although Hulk Hogan has never sold out the Tokyo Dome. I don't think Hulk realizes how little the Japanese care for his act, to be honest I don't think he's ever known how little he has meant internationally. His IWGP win was a fluke guys, he accidentally KO'ed Inoki or should I say Inoki accidentally knocked himself out and Antonio was supposed to win the thing.
*LUCHA LIBRE GUYS
Word is going around that Psychosis will be the next luchadore to unmask, unfortunately for him I do not think it will be the big career boost it was for Rey Jr. and Juventud Guerrera. Eventually all the Luchas will be forced to unmask. In speaking of Luchas the word is La Parka is getting an attitude, hey if people never recognized my natural talent for dancing but gave all the kudos in the world to Ernest Miller I'd cop an attitude as well.
