WWF NEWS/RUMORS

*SMACKDOWN PREVIEW Too Cool vs. Edge/Christian, Dancin' Stevie Richards(In full Chyna gear) vs. Chris Jericho, Bulldog gets a European title shot, Mankind vs. Val Venis, Austin is hunting degenerates this Thursday, Kane has to come to terms with X-Pac's turn on the fans and a new alliance is formed, and many other things hit the fan on Smackdown.

*TERRY TAYLOR Terry Taylor attended the No Mercy Pay Per View looking to talk his way out of signing the 1-Year No Compete claus with the WWF. I've heard from various reliable sources that it went well and that it didn't go well. I guess that's something only Vince or Terry could tell you for sure. The bottom line in all the reports is that no extension was signed by Terry Taylor. He has said to be on a little vacation here for the last two weeks, and the booking for Raw was done by the old man himself, Mr. Vince McMahon.

*PURE DYNAMITE The Dyn-o-mite Kid's book is for sale now, his book runs for $20 dollars with $3 shipping. "Pure Dynamite" is available for sale as of NOW on the website of Dynamite Kid, you can order it on the net with a credit card or you can call their special number. They have an office for orders from the US & Canada, the number to call is (315) 458-8123. They'll get the book out to you. Check the website, DynamiteKid.com for details on how to order from outside of the US & Canada.

* WWF.com reports that Mick Foley's autobiography "Have A Nice Day," will debut on the New York Times Best Seller list at number 3. --This Saturday at the WWF House Show in MSG, Tokyo TV will be backstage to do a feature on the WWF according to Lucus. Japan residents with Tokyo TV will be able to view the show. --DX is going to pushed as heels in the WWF, and will feud with the Rock, Steve Austin, Mankind and other major superstars. --Also from Lucas' update, Shawn Michaels will not be back to lead DX, and he may be out indefinably. Chyna will also not be returning to DX, she is now on her own, and the WWF plans to keep it that way. Also according to Slam! Wrestling, Michaels was in Las Vegas when WCW was there for the Halloween Havoc PPV and seen with Ric Flair and Scott Hall. --Ken Shamrock will be the guest on WWF Byte This! tonight. --Meltzer is reporting that Terry Taylor is on a two-week sabbatical after his meeting last Wednesday with McMahon did not go too well. At the meeting Terry was looking to improve his loing term relatinship with the company and gain gain the federations top TV writing job. He still has not signed the one-year no-compete clause that WWF is requesting from all it's employees. --It was reported earlier HERE that Scott Sabre from Ohio Valley Wrestlihng has recently signed a WWF developmental contract. Miss Pamela sends in that the correct title he holds in OVW is the Light Heavyweight Title, not the "Jr." Title. Also, Scott is not the only one in the OVW with a WWF developmental contract. One of the company's brightest prospects, rookie Rico Costantino, a former American Gladiators champion, has also inked a developmental deal with the WWF. --USA Network, the decade's highest rated cable network in primetime, averaged a 2.3 rating, four-tenths ahead of the No.2 cable network. WWF Raw / War Zone maintained its position as the highest rated series on basic cable, achieving a 35% ratings increase contributing to the record third quarter period.

WCW/NWO news/rumors

* HARDCORE NORMAN The future King Of Hardcore wrestling in WCW will be Norman Smiley according to the RWIN. The report is that WCW is going to put him over as a fluke for awhile, but in a matter of time he will become one of the true black and blue Hardcore WCW wrestlers. The fans love Norman Smiley already, not just because of his humpy dance folks. When he comes out to the ring, pay attention because he says because he will blather on some of the weirdest statements out of left field. I've got him on tape saying "Who's your daddy!? Wolfpack in the house!", during a Nitro entrance. I've heard him say things like that recently too so it isn't just an isolated incident. He's a weird little guy.

*TV-14 Nitro has been bumped up to a TV-14. It's the first step in getting the TNT network to recognize WCW's product as an entertainment project. I think TNT may have been hard on WCW in the past to fill out network quotas for family programming. Now WCW is laying down the law with TNT and letting them know that the network is going to have to loosen up and allow them to put on a competitive wrestling show to Raw. They're doing pretty good with the limitations they have now. If Turner puts Strip Tease on television, he shouldn't have a problem with what Russo/Ferrera got in mind for Mondays.

*TIDBITS According to WCW Live here are some little nuggets of information floating around in WCW. The Disco Inferno should be involved in his own really good angle, but it won't be any of the silly rumored angles like that whole "Barbar the Elephant Boy" deal. Wrestlers were given a script this week, and given spots where they could ad lib on Nitro. Meaning wrestlers had all day to play around with how they wanted to come off in front of America. Take Norman Smiley for example, ditto the Outsiders. Norman seemed nervous, but he still didn't make himself look like a jerk, as for the Outsiders, they came off as cool as ever. Hugh Morrus will be getting a push in the near future, of course if you ask Fererra/Russo, they want to push everybody. Shane Douglas is going to be immobilized for up to 8 weeks because of his surgery, then he has up to 4 months in a brace. I know those of you who don't know Shane that well are thinking, "I thought you said he would wrestle at Starrcade or around then?". Well, let me put your mind at ease, Shane will wrestle in a cast, wouldn't be a first. Maybe I sound like a mark, but I don't think Douglas will sit on the bench through a Starrcade just because he can't use his arm. Also look for Shane Douglas and the Revolution to explain their relationship with Asya.
