WCW Mayhem- November 21, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan Live from Toronto, Ontario
Chris Benoit defeated Jeff Jarrett via pinfall. Benoit begins with several lethal chops to the chest of Jarrett and then an atomic drop followed by a neck breaker. Benoit continues the carnage on the outside, but is caught with a low blow and then dropped on top, neck first into the guardrail. Inside the ring, both men go back and forth with pinning combinations. Benoit is then able to execute 3 German suplexes and then a sidewalk slam. Chris Benoit is then able to hit the flying headbutt, however the enforcers of the powers that be pull Benoit out to interrupt the count. Dustin Runnels in turn interrupts Jarrett’s pin attempt allowing Benoit to use the guitar to strike Jarrett and get the victory and move on in the tourney. Disco Inferno was attacked backstage by an angry Jeff Jarrett and the enforcers of the powers that be before his Cruiserweight Title match.
Evan Karagias w/ Medusa defeated Disco Inferno w/ Tony Marinara via pinfall. Disco takes control early on in the contest at one point connecting with an elbow from the second turnbuckle. Disco takes some time to go on the outside to taunt Medusa but Karagias is able to use the distraction to his advantage. Tony Marinara then taunts Medusa while Disco gets a chair and tries to hit Karagias but catches Tony Marinara instead. Karagias then hits a cross body and is victorious, becoming the new Cruiserweight Champion.
Jeff Jarrett is scolded by the powers that be. They give Jarrett an ultimatum that he needs to prove himself or he’s finished in WCW.
Norman Smiley defeated Brian Knobs via pinfall. Smiley comes ringside dressed in Hockey gear. A trashcan is used early in the match. At one point Knobs wore the can on his head and Smiley struck the can with a hockey stick. Both men make their way backstage with Norman using a broom stick and Knobs utilizing a crutch. Back in the storeroom, Jimmy Hart begins to throw food at Norman. Hart then opened an elevator and both men go inside. When the elevator door opened again, Hart accidentally hits Knobs to give Norman the victory to become the Hardcore Champion.
Dean Malenko, Saturn, Asya defeated Billy Kidman, Eddie Guerrero, Torrie in a 6 man elimination match. All the men went to the outside early leaving Torrie and Asya in a brief catfight inside the ring. Torrie seemed to get injured during the scuffle, which causes Eddie to attend to her. Malenko eliminates Billy Kidman in the distraction and before leaving the ring had some words for Guerrero. Eddie eliminated Malenko next, but not before Asya hit an impressive suplex on him. Saturn accidentally hit Asya with a kick and Eddie is able to execute the frog splash to eliminate Asya. Eddie then hit a cross body onto Saturn but Saturn reverses it into the rings of Saturn causing Eddie to tap out. Torrie then hit Saturn with a low blow but failed to pin him. Saturn then returned the blow to Torrie to get the pin fall victory.
Jeff Jarrett and 'creative control' are shown backstage attacking Buff Bagwell before his match.
Buff Bagwell defeated Curt Hennig via pinfall The battle ensues on the outside from the beginning of the match. Bagwell finds an opening and begins to stomp on the head of Hennig inside the ring. Hennig regains momentum with a sleeper hold and Bagwell is taken down to a sitting position. As always, Bagwell ‘Hulks’ out of the sleeper but Hennig is able to catch him with a knee to the mid section. Buff regains control of the match and then is able to hit the blockbuster to get the pinfall victory. Curt Hennig now must ‘hang up his boots.’ Curt Hennig leaves the ring to the adulation of the crowd.
Bret Hart defeated Sting via submission. Both men begin the contest with a shoving contest and exchange of words. Hart’s offense is interrupted with a rake to the eyes, and Sting follows up by thrusting Hart’s head into the turnbuckle. Just as Hart seem to regain control, Sting hit him with a low blow and then an elbow drop. Sting then takes Hart and places him on the announce table, but Hart moves out of the way of the attempted Stinger splash. The referee is then caught between maneuvers and is knocked out. The Total Package interrupts the match and hits Sting with a bat allowing Hart to win via DQ. Hart argues with the ref not wanting a DQ victory and the referee reverses his decision allowing the match to continue. Sting then is able to execute the Scorpion Deathlock onto Hart, but Hart amazingly reversed it into the Sharpshooter. Sting taps out and Hart is victorious moving on to face Benoit for the World Title. The match ended with Sting shaking the hand of Hart in respect.
Vampiro w/ Jerry Only defeated Berlyn w/ The Wall via submission. Both men are supposed to be connected to one another via a chain but Berlyn refuses. Berlyn and Smolly brawl on the outside, while The Wall fastens the other end of the chain to his neck. The Wall choke slams Vampiro and attempts a pin, but Berlyn pulls him off. Berlyn confronts a frustrated Wall, and Wall proceeds to remove the chain and walks out on Berlyn. Vampiro then locked on a camel clutch onto Berlyn, in addition to choking him with the chain. Berlyn submits giving Vampiro the victory.
Dr. Death Steve Williams accompanied by the Jim Ross mockery named Oklahoma attacked Vampiro after the match.
Meng defeated The Total Package w/ Elizabeth via pinfall. The ‘powers that be’ instruct the Package that he must wrestle Meng, despite wearing a neck brace and supposedly being injured. Meng tries to connect early with the Tongan death grip, but the Package’s neck brace protects him. Package is then able to regain some control with a power slam and some well placed fists. Elizabeth then accidentally sprays some type of mist into Package’s eyes, which allows Meng to remove the neck brace and lock on the death grip to get the pin fall victory.
Scot Hall defeated Booker T via pinfall. Booker T. answers Scot Hall’s open challenge for both the US Title and TV Title. Booker T. hits a flurry of moves early on causing Hall to re think things on the outside of the ring. Hall returns to the ring and is able to connect with a fall away slam, which takes Booker T. to the outside. Hall then slows things down with a sleeper hold while Jarrett and ‘creative control’ makes their way to the ring. Jarrett distracts Booker T. and Hall is able to connect with the Outsider’s Edge to retain both titles. Booker T. is then ambushed by ‘creative control’ after the fact, all the while the lights go out and the lady named Midnight comes in for the save.
David Flair versus Kimberly went to a no contest. Kimberly begins by placing her leg on the top rope and stretching out, obviously trying to get the attention of David. David then hits the referee with the crowbar and proceeds to walk towards Kimberly who is on her knees. Kimberly pretends to unzip David’s pants but instead removes David’s protective cup and hit him with a low blow. DDP and Kanyon come in for a save, but Arn Anderson stops the attack. David then hit Arn from behind and quickly left the ring, while EMT’s wheeled out a seemingly injured Arn.
Bill Goldberg defeated Sid Vicious via submission. Goldberg puches Sid furiously to begin the ‘I Quit’ match up, following up with an awesome power slam. Sid returns with some fists of his own and a lariat to take Goldberg down. Sid then chokes Goldberg in the corner with a big boot. Sid then proceeded to choke slam Goldberg not once, but two times. Goldberg regains control with 3 short clotheslines and begins to also work on the right arm of Sid. Goldberg then executed a cobra clutch like maneuver and Sid passes out and the referee awards him the victory.
Bret Hart defeated Chris Benoit via submission. Benoit begins with a quick arm drag take down. The two men then size each other up and lock up in a test of strength, with Bret gaining the advantage. Bret then slaps on an arm bar only to be reversed into a headlock by Benoit. Hart attempts the Sharpshooter early but Benoit wiggles out and is able to execute a crippler cross face. Hart is too close to the ring ropes and is able to break the hold. Malenko, dressed in Canadian fan attire jumped the guardrail and began to attack Benoit but was quickly taken away by WCW officials. Hart is then on the receiving end of several knife-edge chops and a lethal back breaker courtesy of Benoit. Benoit catches a lifeless Hart with a tombstone piledriver and then a flying head butt. Before a pin attempt could even made, Nash and Hall take out the ref and begin to work on Benoit . Goldberg comes in to make a save but is hit with a steel chair from Hall. Goldberg follows Hall and Nash backstage and the match continues inside the ring with Benoit taking advantage of Hart’s weakened knee. Benoit continues the beating by slapping on a figure four leg lock. Hart mounts a comeback, super-plexing Benoit but failing to make a cover. Benoit then begins the rolling German suplexes, however Hart reverses it connecting with the Sharpshooter. Chris Benoit taps out and Bret Hart becomes the new WCW Heavyweight Champion.
WCW Halloween Havoc Results Report by Derrick CURISERWEIGHT TITLE DISCO INFERNO VS LASH LEROUX -Disco starts out and means business, tossing Lash around into the turnbuckles and hitting him with punches. Lash fights back with a scoop slam and picks up the firs near fall in the match. Next, Lash threw Disco outside the ring and used the steps and security rail as a weapon. Disco evened the score by pushing LeRoux into the steps, then back into the ring. Lash went to the top and hit an excellent flying maneuver to pick up a two count. Disco fought back and went for the "Last Dance", but Lash reversed it into a backbreaker. This didn’t phase Disco, who began to get frustrated. He hit a piledriver, and though he had the match won, but LeRoux kicked out. Disco went off the ropes, Lash caught him, and hit his finisher, but only got a two count. Disco got up from that, hit the last dance, and retained the curiserweight title. After the match, Lash LeRoux powerbombed Disco on his Cruiserweight belt. TAG TEAM TITLES – STREET FIGHT RULES HUGH MORRUS/BRIAN KNOBS (w/Jimmy Hart) VS HARLEM HEAT VS KONNAN/KIDMAN -Morrus, Hart, and Knobs all wore Halloween masks to the ring. Kidman videotaped his entrance with a camera. Two referees were used during this match. The match immediately went to the outside with all six men going at it. Knobs took a hard spill intot he front row of the crowd, while Kidman was blasted with a trashcan. Finally in the ring, Harlem Heat took everyone out with trashcans, but only got a two count. In the entrance way, Jimmy Hart distracted Harlem Heat so Knobs could run behind them and hit them with trashcans. Heat came back and threw Knobs through a "casket" that was in the entrance way. Inside the ring, Morrus threw Kidman THOUGH a chair! Backstage, Knobs was working over both Stevie Ray and Booker T. Jimmy Hart pulled out a table at ringside, and Morrus set it up in the ring. He delievered the no laughing matter to Konnan in the ring. Backstage, Harlem Heat won the match after hitting Brian Knobs with a mummy. However, at the same time, Kidman/Konnan won the match inside of the ring. There was confusion in the ring, but the match was awarded to Harlem Heat. They are the new tag champions, and for the 10th time. INTERVIEW WITH DDP -Diamond Dallas Page walked out with Kimberly. Ric Flair was shown in the back carrying a crowbar and walking with his son. Kimberly says "14 times…" is the number of times Flair smacked Kimberly’s ass. She says 14 times is just a warm up for her, and Page does it better. DDP says after tonight Flair will never forget him. The crowd started chanting "You suck, you suck", Page responded with "I can’t suck, I’m not from Las Vegas." Page makes a lot of sexual references to Flair about "spanking it" and then takes his belt off and says "Let’s whack it, let’s jack it all night long." He challenges Flair to make their match later in the evening a strap match. PERRY SATURN VS EDDY GUERRERO -It was announced that the Filthy Animals were barred from ringside. Guerrero was wearing Ric Flair’s Rolex watch. Guerrero steps in the ring and gets instantly sent to the mat by Saturn. Guerrero fights back with a dropkick to the knees of Saturn and by throwing him to the outside. Saturn fights on the outside and sent Guerrero head first into to the ringsteps. In the ring, Saturn hits a huge powerbomb, but Eddy kicked out. Saturn hit Guerrero with a selection of rest holds next, working over his arm and shoulder. Guerrero fights out of an armbar to throw Saturn in the corner, but Saturn T-Boned him. He only got a two count. Saturn then worked over Guerrero’s leg, sandwiching it between the first and second rope and sitting down on it. This hurt Saturn just as bad as Eddy, and Eddy got up and applied an armbar of his own. Saturn fought out and worked it into a pinning combination, but only got a two. Saturn did a moonsault off the ropes onto Guerrero, and only got another two count. Guerrero made it to his feet first, and went to the top. He missed the frogsplash. Eddy went to the top again, and this time got crotched and suplexed from the top. Both men to the top again, Eddy hit a suplex from the top this time. Ric Flair ran down the aisle with a crowbar, and hit Guerrero with it. This caused a disqualification. Kidman ran to the ring, and Flair smacked him with the bar. Torrie ran down, and shielded Kidman from getting hit again. Flair pulled her out of the way and did the "space mountain" dance, and Torrie looked like she liked it. Flair then grabbed Torrie, and kissed her deeply. Afterwards, she was grinning. Flair got his watch back and went backstage. Backstage, Goldberg was pounding on Sid. The two were seperated, and Sid was bleeding gallons from the head. Sid shouted "IS THIS ALL YOU HAVE FOR ME?!" BUFF BAGWELL INTERVIEW -Bagwell said he had a problem with the two new writers in WCW and a problem with Jeff Jarrett hitting him with a guitar. Buff said he had stroke by not being scheduled on the show and showing up and being on there. He challenged Jeff Jarrett to come out. Jarrett ran out with his guitar, and was thrown from the ring by Bagwell. Jarrett and Bagwell battled outside, with Jarrett having most of the advantage. In the ring, Bagwell took Jeff down and Lex Luger came running down the aisle. Luger got the guitar and went to hit Jarrett, but missed and clobbered Buff. Jarrett ran backstage with Luger staring at him. BERLYN VS BRAD ARMSTRONG -Berlyn and BA lock up quickly with Berlyn doing some acrobatics to get out of rest holds. Berlyn hit a big poweslam which got him a two count. Berlyn spat upon BA, which got him aggrivated. From here, the match turned into a bunch of basic wrestling holds that the crowd wasn’t into at all. BA pulls a pin out of no where and gets the win. Berlyn’s bodyguard runs in and takes down BA. Berlyn then attacked BA. TELEVISION TITLE CHRIS BENOIT VS RICK STEINER -Steiner made Benoit wait, then charged him. Benoit was worked over with punches to the face and clotheslines. Steiner hit Benoit with a powerslam, but he came to his feet and hit the Dog Face with chops. On the top, Benoit went flying with a superplex. Steiner went to the outside, where Benoit followed to continue the assault. Steiner turned things his way by ramming Benoit into the security rail. Back in the ring, DFG got a two count. Benoit got up and took command, and Steiner went to the outside to take a break. Steiner comes back in the ring and hits Benoit with a low blow, then puts him in a leg lock. Benoit fights out, but Steiner continues to drive him into the mat. Steiner picked Benoit up for a powebomb, and out of no where Benoit tried for a pin. He only got a one count. Chris was having a hard time standing after all the damage done to his legs. DFG hit a particularly hard german suplex, where Benoit landed directly on his neck. That only got a two count, though. Steiner got coky, and Benoit hit a DDT. A few chops and suplexes later, the referee is thrown into Benoit and is knocked out. Steiner went to the outside and brought in a chair. Benoit got the chair away from DFG and clocked him with it. Benoit went to the top for the swan dive, but was ran straight into the chair. Dean Malenko came down and got the chair, and HIT BENOIT! Malenko throws the ref back in, and Steiner pins Benoit to become the NEW TV champion! After the match, Malenko and Saturn both hug. Apparently, Shane Douglas, Saturn, and Malenko are part of the Revolution, and Benoit is not. THE TOTAL PACKAGE (w/Miss Elizabeth) VS BRET HART -Hart came to the ring limping from the bat shot he took on last week’s Nitro. Hart didn’t waste any time and took the fight to Luger. Outside the ring, Luger was tossed into the announce table and security railing. In the ring, it was all Hart with punches and rope burns. Outside of the ring, Elizabeth distracted Hart, but that didn’t work. Hart continued the assault of Luger on the outside, and it continued into the ring again. Luger finally got some offence and hit Hart with his "loaded elbow." That didn’t last long and Hart continued to dominate with moves from the top rope. Hart went for the sharpshooter, and was gouged in the eye. Package hit Hart with a hiptoss that sent him flying over the top rope. Liz distracted the ref while Luger worked Hart over. Both men were down and out inside the ring, with Hart limping and Luger just overall hurt. Luger put Hart in a single leg crap and won the match after Hart gave up. Madusa comes out in a skimpy bikini and gives us the T&A of the night, modeling the new WCW cologne. How do you model cologne? To make a long story short, Madusa says she likes doing this and such, but then says it’s "bullshit" and pours the cologne all over Bobby Hennan. WORLD TITLE STING VS HULK HOGAN -Hulk Hogan’s music hits, and he doesn’t come out. Hogan’s music is cut and Sting comes out. Hogan’s music starts up again, and he comes out wearing all black and looking dejected. He gets in Sting’s face and starts talking, then lays down for Sting to pin him. Sting covers him and gets the easy three, and retains the title. US TITLE SID VICIOUS VS GOLDBERG -Sid has dried blood all over his face from being attacked by Goldberg earlier in the night. When he was coming down the aisle, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash attack him! Nash and Hall leave Goldberg laying in the middle of the aisle. Goldberg gets up and turns around, running right into Sid! Sid is thrown into the crowd by Goldberg and ran into the steps. Goldberg pounds on Sid’s head, opening him wide open again. However the sight of his own blood excites him and he gets up and fights Goldberg toe to toe. Sid starts to look absolutely crazy with all the blood pouring down his head. Sid had Goldberg in a chin lock for about five minutes, Goldberg fought out and hammered on Sid more. However, Sid kept fighting back and gushing blood! Goldberg couldn’t keep him down no matter what he did. Sid began to show some signs of fatigue into the match, dropping to his knees looking out of it. Finally, Sid passes out from all the blood and Goldberg is declared the winner. He wins the US title. After the match, Rick Steiner comes out to help Sid. Sid gets up and wants MORE! However, he doesn’t get it, and Goldberg is the new US champion. STING INTERVIEW -Sting comes out looking a little down and throws the belt down. He says he didn’t come to Vegas for a night off and is looking for a fight. Later tonight, he will be in the ring and will be ready for a brawl. STRAP MATCH RIC FLAIR VS DIAMOND DALLAS PAGE -Flair uses the strap first and strikes Page in the back, then runs him into the ringpost with the strap. Flair then chases DDP down the aisle, whipping him with the strap. DDP gains the advantage in the entrance way using the railing. The match goes way into the crowd all the way into the lower level of the crowd, with both men whipping each other with the strap. The battle continues to ringside, where Flair grabs Kimberly and kisses her! That made DDP rather mad, and he countered with a sharp hit with the strap. Flair had a HUGE welt on his chest and was bleeding badly from the head. Flair was gushing the blood really badly, just like he did in the 80’s. Flair was tossed onto the announce table, and beat with the strap more. Back in the ring, Flair hit DDP with a low blow and with the classic Flair chops. Plenty of knee drops and "whooooo’s" flying! Flair started working on DDP’s leg, obviously setting him up for the figure four. He gets it on, and has the strap wrapped around his throat. He gets the strap off, but the figure four is still on. A few seconds later, he got to the ropes. Page hits a low blow that would make anybody squeamish to fight back. Both men get up, and Page hits a Diamond Cutter with the strap! The ref counts 1 – 2 – stop…ring the bell. Page chokes Flair with the strap, David Flair runs in with a crowbar. Kimberly gets the bar, and hands it to DDP. Page hits Space Mountain with the bar and is left writing in pain. Outside, DDP beats up David Flair and gives him a Diamond Cutter. DDP wins. To add insult to injury, the Filthy Animals attack Flair when they are trying to put him in an ambulance. The Animals jump into the ambulance and take Flair away. WORLD TITLE STING VS GOLDBERG -The match quickly goes to the outside, where Sting is beaten pillar to post. Sting hits Goldberg with something, which causes him to fight back. Sting speared Goldberg in the ring, but that just made him mad. Goldberg got up and spun kicked Sting. He then went for the spear himself, and got all ringpost. Sting nailed three stinger splashes which took Goldberg down. Goldberg amazing gets up and SPEARS Sting! Jackhammer! Goldberg beats Sting! NEW CHAMPION! Shivonie messed up big time by saying this was a "NON TITLE" match. However, Goldberg is the WORLD and US champ!
WCW Fall Brawl - September 12, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Winston-Salem, North Carolina Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse vs. Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Jr., and Kidman; Revolution Interview • Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Jr., and Kidman defeated Vampiro and The Insane Clown Posse with Kidman's Shooting Star Press. - Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Jr., and Kidman dominated in the beginning, as they mainly worked on The Insane Clown Posse. Mysterio hit the bronco buster. Vampiro was soon tagged in, at which point he and The Insane Clown Posse were on top, as they wore down Kidman and Mysterio. Guerrero was in. After he took down Vampiro with a missle dropkick, Kidman followed up with the Shooting Star Press for the win. • Chad Damiani interviewed The Revolution at the Internet broadcast position. Perry Saturn guaranteed there would be a clean sweep in Shane Douglas and Dean Malenko's No Disqualification match with Hugh Morrus and Brian Knobs of The First Family. The Revolution then abruptly left. Lenny vs. Kaz Hayashi for the Cruiserweight Title • Lenny (w/Lodi) defeated Kaz Hayashi with a Full Nelson Slam, to retain the Cruiserweight Title. - Lenny and Kaz Hayashi wrestled a close match. Lodi didn't interfere as much as he usually would. Lenny took the win out of nowhere with a Full Nelson Slam. Sting Interview • Sting Interview, Conducted by Gene Okerlund. - Gene Okerlund asked for his thoughts on Lex Luger. Sting said Luger was close to losing any friendship they ever had. He said it was a night that was huge for him, as he would take on Hulk Hogan for the Heavyweight Title. He said if Luger interfered, it would result the same way as it did last week, where Sting decked Luger. He said there was a comfrot with Hogan, since Hogan had proved himself over the past few weeks. He said he had no problem with Luger until they stepped in the ring. He said he could become the night-time Heavyweight Champion. Sting said he knew Hogan was in the back watching, knowing that he (Sting) was back in black. He finished off the interview by saying it was "showtime." Shane Douglas and Dean Malenko vs. Brian Knobs and Hugh Morrus in a No Disqualification Match • No Disqualification: The First Family (Brian Knobs, Hugh Morrus, w/Jimmy Hart) defeated The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko) with Morrus' No Laughing Matter Moonsault. - Jimmy Hart got in his shots, which were allowed, because of the No Disqualification rules. Brian Knobs and Hugh Morrus worked on Shane Douglas. As the match went on, Knobs went for his second top rope splash finisher, but Shane Douglas countered by lifting up his foot. Douglas then tagged in Dean Malenko, who was immediately taken down by Morrus and finished off with the No Laughing Matter Moonsault. Rick Steiner vs. Perry Saturn for the Television Title; Hulk Hogan Interview • Rick Steiner defeated Perry Saturn with the Steiner Bulldog, to retain the Television Title. - Perry Saturn and Rick Steiner wrestled a stiff and long fight. At one point, Saturn hit the Death Valley Driver, but Steiner surprisingly kicked out. Saturn went for another, but Steiner countered. Steiner positioned Saturn for the Steiner Bulldog, but Saturn dropkicked him down. On the second attempt, Steiner successfully hit the maneuver for the win. • Backstage, Gene Okerlund interviewed Hulk Hogan. Hogan said he was tired of wrestlers asking him if he was a phony. He said he just got off the phones with his kids, where he told them he wouldn't cross them or Sting. Hogan said he just didn't do things, he planned things. He said he would says his prayers and kick Sting's ass. He said he was tired of the accusations and would take care of Lex Luger if he got involved. He said Sting could trust him. Hogan swore there would be no backstabbing. Berlyn vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan • Berlyn (w/Bodyguard) defeated Hacksaw Jim Duggan with a Reversed Neckbreaker. - Tony Schiavone informed us that Buff Bagwell no-showed. Hacksaw Jim Duggan was his replacement. Duggan and Berlyn were shooting in this match and not following the script at all, according to Mark Madden on the Internet broadcast coverage. After Duggan was knocked down on the exposed concrete floor on the outside, Berlyn finished him off on the inside with a Reversed Neckbreaker. Bagwell was then shown in the backstage area, arguing with booker Mike Graham. Bagwell said his flight was delayed and wanted Graham to change the format. Graham said he wouldn't do that. Bagwell then ran down to the ringside area, where he hugged Duggan, although Duggan refused to hug back. Bagwell went to grab the microphone, but before he said anything, WCW went to a video clip. Kendall and Barry Windham vs. Harlem Heat for the Tag Team Titles • Harlem Heat defeated Kendall and Barry Windham (w/Curt Hennig) with Booker T.'s Missle Dropkick, to capture the Tag Team Titles. - There were several nearfalls in the match. In the end, Booker T. battled Barry Windham and Curt Hennig on the inside of the ring. Hennig nailed Stevie Ray on the inside with the cowbell, but the referee couldn't count the pin, since he was distracted by the action on the outside. Booker then climbed the top rope and nailed Kendall with the Missle Dropkick, to let Harlem Heat become the nine-time Tag Team Champions. Chris Benoit vs. Sid Vicious for the United States Title • Sid Vicious defeated Chris Benoit with the Powerbomb, to capture the United States Title. - Charles Robinson was the referee of the match. Chris Benoit slowly worked on Sid Vicious to his advantage. Sid was soon on top after taking down Benoit with a somoan drop and applying a sleeper hold. Out of nowhere, Benoit took down Sid with the Crippler Crossface. Sid amazingly powered out of it and took Benoit down with the Powerbomb for the win, to make his "winning streak" at 80-0. Goldberg vs. Diamond Dallas Page • Goldberg defeated Diamond Dallas Page with the Jackhammer. - Diamond Dallas Page tried to use a hand full of quarters and a chain in the beginning, but Goldberg knocked them out of his hand and then followed up by throwing Page out of the ring. Page got frustrated, telling the crowd to stop chanting "Goldberg," or he would leave. The crowd chanted of course, but Goldberg brought Page back in. Page went for the Diamond Cutter, but Goldberg shrugged him down. Page pulled out another foreign object to take the advantage. Goldberg came back on top, at which point The Triad made their ways out. Bigelow nailed Goldberg with some kind of object, which cut Goldberg. Page followed up with the Diamond Cutter, but Goldberg surprisingly kicked out of the pin attempt. After knocking out Bigelow and Kanyon, Goldberg speared Page. He then nailed Page with the Jackhammer for the win. Hulk Hogan vs. Sting for the Heavyweight Title • Sting defeated Hulk Hogan with the Scorpian Death Drop, to capture the Heavyweight Title. - Before the match, Bret Hart made his way out. He talked with and pointed his finger at Hogan, and also spoke with Sting. As the back and forth match went on, Sting hit Hogan with two Stinger Splashes, but missed on the third. Hogan started to take the advantage and was about to hit the Big Leg Drop, until Diamond Dallas Page interfered. He dropkicked the referee down and then nailed Hogan with a Diamond Cutter. Page put Sting's arm over Hogan, but Hogan kicked out. Bret Hart came down to take out Page. Sid Vicious was next to interfere, but Hogan threw him out. Lex Luger then ran in with a baseball bat. Sting took a baseball bat and nailed Hogan with it. He then hit the Scorpian Death Drop for the win. Following the match, Sting and Luger hugged.
WCW Road Wild - August 14, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Sturgis, South Dakota The Dead Pool vs. Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Jr., and Kidman • Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Jr., and Kidman defeated The Dead Pool (Vampiro and Insane Clown Posse, w/Raven) with Kidman's Shooting Star Press. - The Dead Pool first worked on Eddie Guerrero. Rey Mysterio, Jr. was tagged in and started to clean house, until he was thrown into the steel steps by Raven and received the Vampiro Spike by Vampiro on the outside of the ring. The advantage was back on The Dead Pool's side, as they worked on Mysterio. After a split-legged moonsault by Mysterio, Kidman was tagged in. The Insane Clown Posse was knocked to the outside, as Kidman finished off Vampiro with the Shooting Star Press. The Triad (Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon) vs. Harlem Heat for the Tag Team Titles • Harlem Heat defeated The Traid (Bam Bam Bigelow, Kanyon) with Booker T.'s Missle Dropkick, to capture the Tag Team Titles. - Diamond Dallas Page did not accompany Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon to the ring, since he was preparing for his upcoming No Disqualification-United States Title match with Chris Benoit that would take place later in the show. Kanyon first insulted the crowd, calling them rednecks and saying most of them could not afford cable TV. He received nothing but revs of motorcycle engines, so he decided not to ask his "Who's better than Kanyon?" question. In the match, The Traid used excellent teamwork, as they worked on Stevie Ray. Booker T. was tagged in and started to take Bigelow and Kanyon down with several different kicks, until Bigelow countered an axe kick. As The Triad continued with their advantage, Diamond Dallas Page ran-in, but was knocked out, as Booker finished off Bigelow with the Missle Dropkick. The Revolution vs. The West Texas Rednecks • The Revolution (Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, Shane Douglas) defeated The West Texas Rednecks (Curt Hennig, Barry Windham, Bobby Duncum, Jr., w/Kendall Windham) with Saturn's Death Valley Driver. - Before the match, Perry Saturn said he, Dean Malenko, and Shane Douglas didn't care about The West Texas Rednecks or Chad Brock. He told someone to step in the ring first, which led to everyone battling it out to kick off the match. As it went on, Shane Douglas tried to execute the Pittsburgh Plunge at one point, but Curt Hennig made the save. There were several nearfalls, as members of both teams continued to interfere and make the saves. As the match continued, Dean Malenko set up Barry Windham for the Texas Cloverleaf. Kendall Windham attempted to interfere with the cowbell, but Douglas took care of him. Saturn then nailed Bobby Duncum, Jr. with the Death Valley Driver for the win. Buff Bagwell vs. Ernest Miller • Buff Bagwell defeated Ernest Miller (w/Sonny Onoo) via Pinfall. - The crowd reved up their motorcycle engines and chanted, "Asshole." Ernest Miller said he wanted the crowd to shut their minibikes up, or he would whoop all of them. Miller dropped the microphone and gave up. Buff Bagwell then took the microphone to no crowd noise. Miller took the microphone, as the crowd immediately reved up their engines. Bagwell said Miller was obviously not a crowd favorite and said to Miller, "Why don't you just kiss our ass?" The crowd then chanted, "Pussycat," as the match got underway. As it went on, Sonny Onoo tried to help Miller take the win by using his briefcase, but it backfired, as Miller went into it and Bagwell rolled up Miller for the win. Chris Benoit vs. Diamond Dallas Page in a No Disqualification Match for the United States Title • No Disqualfiication Match: Chris Benoit defeated Diamond Dallas Page with the Diving Headbutt, to retain the United States Title. - Diamond Dallas Page was able to get through his introduction, despite the crowd noise. He apologized to Chris Benoit for insulting his mother, but ended up insulting her again. He told Benoit to have the United States Title belt shined up and get it out there. As the back and forth match went on, Chris Benoit was tied up in the corner. Referee, Charles Robinson, who has been unbiased since Ric Flair hasn't been around, tried to intervene, but DDP slapped him away. DDP beat down Benoit with his belt and soon used it as a choking weapon. Benoit later came out of it and hit his combination of German Suplexes. He went for the Diving Headbutt, only to be knocked down by Kanyon. The Revoultion was shown in the backstage area, looking onto the match. Bam Bam Bigelow then interfered and nailed Benoit with a 350 from the top, but Benoit kicked out when a pin was being made. Without any help from The Revolution, Benoit finished off DDP with the Diving Headbutt for the win. Perry Saturn, Dean Malenko, and Shane Douglas then made their ways in to celebrate with Benoit. Sting vs. Sid Vicious • Sid Vicious defeated Sting with a Chokeslam. - Sting and Sid Vicious first battled it out on the outside of the ring. In the ring, Sid Vicious dominated and was onto basically every maneuver Sting executed. Sid later went for a top rope maneuver, but Sting countered with a superplex. Sting then executed two Stinger Splashes, but on the third one, Sid countered with a Chokeslam for the win. Goldberg vs. Rick Steiner • Goldberg defeated Rick Steiner with the Jackhammer. - Rick Steiner's Television Title was not on the line. The crowd immediately chanted, "Goldberg." In the beginning of the match, Steiner removed Goldberg's kneebrace and used it as a weapon. Goldberg was soon on top of the match, however, as he hit the spear. As the crowd's motorcyles engines reved up, Goldberg hit the Jackhammer for the win. Randy Savage vs. Dennis Rodman • Randy Savage defeated Dennis Rodman via Pinfall. - Gorgeous George wasn't at ringside. Before the match, Dennis Rodman said Randy Savage brought his ass to Sturgis, South Dakota and wanted to kick it, but all he (Rodman) wanted to know was where his bitch was. Savage said, "Tonight, you're my bitch." Rodamn said he would do his sh-- outside, but ended up using the microphone in the beginning to his advantage. He then threw Savage into the ringpost and continued to dominate. Rodman started to argue with referee Billy Silverman over a "slow" count, so Rodman elbowed him. Another referee made his way down, at which point Savage was on the offensive. Savage later decked WCW Magazine's Ross Forman and took his camera to use as a weapon. Savage then knocked out referee, Mickey Jay. Referee, Scott Dickinson then came in, and he was immediately taken down. Rodman and Savage battled it to the back, as referee Johnny Boone called the action. Savage put Rodman in a porta-potty and tipped it over. Rodman didn't look so good when he came out. Boone was taken out after Rodman nailed him with a top rope clothesline. George made her way down, as Rodman had Savage in a sleeper hold. Savage dropped down with a jawbreaker to get out of the hold. George pulled out a chain and handed it to Savage, as referee Nick Patrick made his way in. George low-blowed Rodman and Savage nailed him with his fist, which was wrapped with a chain, for the win. Hulk Hogan vs. Kevin Nash in a Career vs. Career Match for the Heavyweight Title • Career vs. Career: Hulk Hogan defeated Kevin Nash with the Big Leg Drop, to retain the Heavyweight Title. - The crowd chanted, "Hogan," as he and Kevin Nash stared off. There was a test of strength in the beginning by both men, with Nash coming out on top. Nash slowly wore down Hulk Hogan. At one point, Nash used Hogan's boot to the face maneuver, as he dominated. Nash then executed the Jack-Knife Powerbomb, but Hogan surprisingly kicked out at the last-second. Nash then took some shots at Hogan, who was on his knees, but as Hogan has always done, he started to shake his head and "hulk-up." Hogan then quickly knocked Nash down and executed the Big Leg Drop for the win. Nash's career was history (but we have all heard the scenario that Nash takes the time off that he has requested and soon return to WCW as an "outsider" with Scott Hall, but we'll see what Hogan decides on with his knee injury).
WCW Bash at the Beach - July 11, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan Live from Fort Lauderdale, Florida Junkyard Hardcore Invitational Match Preview • After Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan previewed the show and Gene Okerlund plugged the WCW Hotline, at the Junkyard, Mike Tenay was standing by to preview the scene, full of vandalized and wrecked cars. Cars were on top of one another in a lined up circle. Tenay said there could be some surprises of superstars we didn't expect to participate in the Junkyard Hardcore Invitational Match. Disco Inferno vs. Ernest Miller • Ernest Miller (w/Sonny Onoo) defeated Disco Inferno with the Standing Red Shoe Side Kick. - Tony Schiavone announced that the stipulation of the loser no longer being able to dance was dropped since both Ernest Miller and Disco Inferno complained to managment (Disco was scheduled to lose and told Kevin Nash it would kill his gimmick; Nash just said to keep dancing). Miller got on the microphone and told the crowd to sit their asses down, as "You Suck" chants started. Miller said since he was good at dancing, we would have another dancing contest. Disco made his way out. Miller told the crowd needed to vote for him, or he would go to car to get his karate gee to whip everyone. Miller danced in his red shoes. Disco then did his disco dance to the obvious win, which brought Miller in, as a match was underway. Miller was knocked to the outside, where he once again got on the microhphone, saying he would call his momma, his hand was a registered weapon, and he would whip somebody. Sonny Onoo got his cheapshots on Disco in the match. As Miller remained in control, Onoo handed the red shoe to him. Onoo argued with the referee, with Disco stomping on Miller's foot to grab the red shoe. Disco whacked Miller with the shoe, but Miller surprisingly kicked out at the last second. Onoo once again got on the apron, where Disco gave him a last dancine. When Disco turned around, he was caught with a Standing Red Shoe Side Kick by Miller, to let Miller take this one. Judge Mills Lane Interview • Backstage, Mark Madden interviewed Judge Mills Lane at the Internet position about his officiation in the Roddy Piper vs. Buff Bagwell 10 Round Boxing Match. Lane basically said for us to get on and did say he didn't like Piper much. He also said that he would cut a little slack if anything got out of hand like Mike Tyson bitting a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear. Rick Steiner vs. Van Hammer for the Television Title • Rick Steiner defeated Van Hammer with the Steiner Bulldog, to retain the Television Title. - Rick Steiner was on top of the match, taking Van Hammer to the outside. He used the exposed concrete floor and shoved the referee. Hammer to the advantage with a lowblow. Hammer also got away with using a chair. After Steiner used some lowblows of his own and the Steiner Bulldog, he took the win. Junkyard Hardcore Invitational Match Update • At the Junkyard, Mike Tenay was standing by with referee, Mickey Jay, who was holding the Hardcore Trophy to declare the winner the official Hardcore Champion of WCW. The first person to make it from the junkyard brawl to over the fence area would take the win. David Flair vs. Dean Malenko for the United States Title • David Flair (w/Torrie Wilson, Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Asya, Charles Robinson) defeated Dean Malenko via Pinfall, to retain the United States Title. - Referee Johnny Boone officiated the match. As Dean Malenko dominated David Flair, Arn Anderson and Asya entered. Malenko knocked out Anderson and put Asya in the Texas Cloverleaf. Meanwhile, Charles Robinson knocked out Boone and made himself the referee. Ric Flair then entered and knocked out Malenko with the United States Title belt, to let David make the pin. Elimination Match: The West Texas Rednecks vs. The No Limit Soldiers • Elimination Match: The No Limit Soldiers (w/Chase, 4x4) defeated The West Texas Rednecks. - The No Limit Soldiers hyped up the crowd with their ring introduction. Soldiers dominated, with Bobby Duncum, Jr. getting eliminated first after a springboard guillotine legdrop on Duncum with Swoll making the pin. Duncum was then attacked on the outside by 4x4 and Chase, where Curt Hennig tried to make a save, but was unsuccessful. BA was eliminated after Hennig took him out with a Hennig Plex, leaving it at three-on-three. Konnan then eliminated Kendall Windham after a roll-up. 4x4 and Chase beat the hell out of Kendall on the outside of the ring. Barry Windham and Konnan were both eliminated by Countout as they continued to brawl to the backstage area, with Chase joining in. Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Swoll were left with Hennig. Barry returned to the ring, with Chase taking care of him. Hennig tried to make a run for it, but was immediately put back in the ring by the big 4x4. Swoll and Mysterio took the win for the Soldiers after Mysterio landed on a knocked out Hennig off of Swoll's shoulders. Junkyard Hardcore Invitational Match • Junkyard Hardcore Invitational Match: Winner - Fit Finlay - There was aerial video of the match, that was supplied by a helicopter. Rocco Rock and Johnny Grunge of The Public Enemy officially returned to WCW by participating in the brual junkyard brawl. Jimmy Hart was at the scene, cheering on The First Family in his protective gear. La Parka, Brian Knobs, Jerry Flynn, Hugh Morrus, La Parka, Ciclope, Silver King, Steve Regal, Fit Finlay, Horace, and Dave Taylor all brawled over the stacked cars, using tires, electricty, fire, garbage cans, the concrete ground, bumpers, tailpipes, hoods, car seats, chairs, tranmissions, and rims. At one point, Morrus dived onto other cars twice with leg drops, with the first time being a failed attempt. Rocco tried to climb the fence to become the winner, but was stopped by Horace. King had blood all over his back from a laceration suffered after a throw on a car windshield. Hak later put Finlay in a trunk of a old yellow cab. A forklift lifted the cab into a car smasher machine, with Finlay barely getting out on time. Finlay then went for the gate and made it over for the win, as a car exploded. Finlay received the Hardcore Champion trophy. The Triad vs. Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn for the Tag Team Titles • The Triad defeated Chris Benoit and Perry Saturn with the combination of Greetings from Asbury Park and Diamond Cutter, to retian the Tag Team Titles. - The Triad did their ring introduction. They traded in and out. Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit slowly worked on Kanyon. The Triad was later back on top with the triple-team teamwork. There crowd was cheering and booing over a beachball in the crowd, to the point where they started chanting the familiar WWF chant, "Asshole." The Triad later took full control of the match, working mainly on Benoit. Benoit made the hot tag to Saturn, as the faces started to dominate. Benoit connected with his Diving Headbutt and Saturn connected with a Frog Splash on Bam Bam Bigelow. When a pin was made, Diamond Dallas Page made the save. Kanyon threw power in the eyes of Saturn and accidently DDP. Benoit was about to make the pin on a knocked out Kanyon, but Bigelow put the foot on the rope. Benoit later put DDP threw a German suplex, but didn't get the pinfall. DDP nailed Benoit and accidently Kanyon with a steel trash can. Saturn was then put through the combination of Greetings from Asbury Park and the Diamond Cutter to give The Triad the win. 10 Round Boxing Match: Roddy Piper vs. Buff Bagwell • 10 Round Boxing Match: Buff Bagwell (w/Judge Judy Bagwell) defeated Roddy Piper (w/Ric Flair). - Judge Mills Lane officiated the match and Michael Buffer, who is popular as an announcer for boxing matches, did the announcing. Buff Bagwell came down in his boxing clothes. Bagwell said he suspected Ric Flair would be in the corner of Roddy Piper, so he got someone of his own - his mother, Judy Bagwell. Flair said no one would think any less of Bagwell if he walked out immediately. He said Bagwell was in over his head. Bagwell told Flair to remember the time he took the Blockbuster. The boxing gloves and mouthpieces were on. Lane said he expected a tough, clean fight and told everyone "to get it on." In the first round, after a fair number of rapid punches, Piper knocked out Bagwell, but Bagwell was right back up. In round two, Bagwell went down on his knee after a punch from Piper. Piper knocked him down once again. Bagwell later threw an assault of his own, as Piper went down in the corner. Piper came in early at Bagwell in the third round, which caused Judy to bite her son's opponent and put a water buggest over his head. Bagwell knocked out Flair and then hit the Blockbuster on Piper, with Judy holding back Flair from making the save. Lane made the pinfall for a wrestling move. Kevin Nash and Sting vs. Sid Vicious and Randy Savage for the Heavyweight Title • Sid Vicious and Randy Savage (w/Gorgeous George, Madusa, Miss Madness) defeated Kevin Nash and Sting with Savage's Big Elbow, with Savage capturing the Heavyweight Title. - Kevin Nash and Sting argued over strategy. Gorgeous George was wearing sunglasses and she later took them off to reveal a black eye. She went over to the side of Nash. ENSY Savage went after Nash, where Sting attacked him from behind. The action continued back and forth. As it continued, Miss Madness and Madusa interfered, only to get their heads banged into each other and receive, along with the rest, Stinger Splashes. George entered the ring and this time, decided to side off with Randy Savage, as she low-blowed Nash. Sid then slammed Nash down, with Savage hitting the Big Elbow to become the new Heavyweigt Champion.
WCW Great American Bash - June 13, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Baltimore, Maryland Curt Hennig-Master P. confrontation, Hak vs. Brian Knobs, Buff Bagwell-Ric Flair conversation • Backstage, Curt Hennig introduced himself to a just-hired, Master P., who was with his bodyguard Swoll and No Limit Soldiers. Hennig said he loved rap music and asked for an autograph. Once he received it, Hennig said, "This is what I think of your autograph," as he threw it to the ground. • Hak (w/Chastity) defeated Brian Knobs (w/Jimmy Hart) via Pinfall. - Brian Knobs came out to new entrance music. He called the crowd losers. He said it was Mrs. Nasty's birthday, and for her present, he would destroy Hak. Knobs wanted to get rid of all the weapons in the match and just duke it out. Knobs ended up tricking Hak, as he hit him with a kendo stick. As Knobs continued with his advantage, he gave Hak the Pit Stop. Despite the match being one where you used kendo sticks only, other objects were used, such as trash cans/lids, kendo sticks, tables, ladders, and chairs. Jimmy Hart decided to get on the apron and hold up a chair, which Knobs accidently crashed into. Hak then nailed Knobs hard with a kendo stick to take the win. Hugh Morrus then entered the ring to add on to post-The First Family attack on Hak. Morrus gave Hak a No Laughing Matter Moonsault with a ladder on top. • Backstage, Buff Bagwell thanked Ric Flair for his current position in WCW, saying his opponent would be Disco Inferno later in the show and he would get the ball. Flair said something to the effect of, "I told you I would take care of you." Bagwell then said he would have Flair's back later in the show. Van Hammer vs. Mikey Whipwreck • Van Hammer defeated Mikey Whipwreck with the Cobra Clutch Slam. - Van Hammer dominated Mikey Whipwreck with his power. The match spilled to the outside, where Hammer used the guardrail to his advantage. Whipwreck attempted to gain the advantage, but Hammer was onto him as he executed the Cobra Clutch Slam for the win. Buff Bagwell vs. Disco Inferno • Buff Bagwell defeated Disco Inferno with the Blockbuster. - The crowd immediately chanted "Disco sucks" as Disco Inferno and Buff Bagwell locked up. At one point, Bagwell went for the Blockbuster, but Disco countered. Disco then started to work on Bagwell's neck to his advantage. Bagwell went for the Blockbuster once again, but fell down after Disco crashed into the ropes. Disco hit the Last Dance on the outside of the ring. As the match continued, after two more attempts, Bagwell finally hit the Blockbuster for the win. Bagwell would no "be handed the ball," according to Tony Schiavone. Konnan and Rey Mysterio, Jr. vs. Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum, Jr. • Konnan and Rey Mysterio, Jr. defeated Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum, Jr. via Pinfall. - DJ Ran hyped up the crowd. He introduced Master P. and the No Limit Soldiers to their ringside seats. Curt Hennig and Bobby Duncum, Jr. came out to their own country-western music, which was Hennig and Duncum singing "Rap is Crap." Konnan and Rey Mysterio, Jr. then hyped up the crowd and gave a shout out to Master and No Limit Soldiers. Hennig insulted Konnan and Mysterio for saying the "hoolie hee" line, which is used by Master and his soldiers. Hennig and Duncum were slapped on the outside of the ring. In the match, Hennig and Duncum worked slowly on Mysterio. At one point, Mysterio tagged in Konnan, but referee, Johnny Boone didn't see it. After Konnan was finally tagged in and started to clean house, Barry Windham ran down. Master's bodyguard, Swoll, clocked Duncum, which let Mysterio take the pin. Master himself and the rest of No Limit Soldiers went at Windham. Security removed Master and his entorauge, as Mysterio was hog tied. Ernest Miller vs. Horace • Ernest Miller (w/Sonny Onoo) defeated Horace with a Spinning Heel Kick. - Horace said he saw Ernest Miller hit him with a crowbar the previous Monday on Nitro after reviewing the tape. Miller said he wanted Scott Norton out there and not Horace. He said if Norton wasn't out in the ring in three minutes, he would go to the car and get his karate gear to beat everyone in the arena. Miller ended up getting another member of the NWO Black and White, as Horace entered the ring for the match to get underway. No reason was given why Norton didn't work the match. There was some type of shoe that Sonny Onoo had in his briefcase, which let Miller take the win with a Spinning Heel Kick. Ric Flair vs. Roddy Piper for the Presidency of WCW • Ric Flair (w/Arn Anderson, Asya) defeated Roddy Piper by Disqualification, to remain the President of WCW. - Roddy Piper first took down Ric Flair with several boxing punches. Knife-edge chops were thrown by Flair as the match continued. Piper later hooked up Flair with the Sleeper Hold, but Piper went down after Flair clocked him with brass knuckles. Flair went for the pinfall, but wasted too much time, so Piper kicked out. Flair then strapped Piper in the Figure-Four Leglock, with Arn Anderson providing the leverage. Buff Bagwell then entered the ring to help Piper, which caused the referee to call for the bell. Piper, for some reason, nailed Bagwell, as Bagwell returned fire. Anderson entered the ring to take down Bagwell. As Anderson and Flair held back Bagwell, Piper slapped Bagwell with a belt. Tony Schiavone said, "Is this what carrying the ball is all about? Falls Count Anywhere: Rick Steiner vs. Sting • Falls Count Anywhere: Sting and Rick Steiner went to a No-Contest. - At one point during the match, Sting went for the Stinger Splash on the outside of the ring, but hit nothing but the guardrail after Rick Steiner moved. As the match continued, Sting strapped Steiner in the Scorpian Deathlock, but Steiner made it to the ropes. Sting and Steiner then brawled down the aisle, near the Internet location, where Chris Jericho was doing play-by-play. They went to the backstage area, where Tank Abbott, Scott Steiner, and actual dogs attacked Sting. The cameras were then taken off the screen, as the crowd booed. Scott and Rick Steiner then entered the ring and told the referee that his brother pinned Sting in the backstage area, but it wasn't shown on camera. As Scott and Rick ran their mouths, Rick ended up saying Baltimore, Maryland was the shittiest ciy in America, which wasn't edited. Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit vs. The Triad for the Tag Team Titles • The Triad (Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon, w/Bam Bam Bigelow) defeated Perry Saturn and Chris Benoit via Pinfall, to capture the Tag Team Titles. - Diamond Dallas Page and Kanyon both used excellent teamwork to work slowly on their opponents. At first, they worked on Chris Benoit. When Saturn was tagged in, he took the advantage for a brief period of time, until DDP and Kanyon once again gained it. As the match went on, Benoit hit his diving headbutt. As Saturn came down, he was nailed with the Diamond Cutter. Dean Malenko then made his way down to help Saturn. Benoit had the Crippler Crossface going, but the referee was distracted. Bam Bam Bigelow then entered the ring, and he and DDP nailed Benoit with the combination of Greetings from Asbury Park and the Diamond Cutter for the win. Kevin Nash vs. Randy Savage for the Heavyweight Title • Kevin Nash defeated Randy Savage (w/Gorgeous George, Madusa, Miss Madness) by Disqualification, to retain the Heavyweight Title. - Randy Savage's women got their cheapshots throughout. As the match continued, Randy Savage hit his Big Elbow, which was reinstated thanks to Kevin Nash, but Nash kicked out of the pinfall. Nash gained the advantage, as he had Savage eat his boot. Nash put Savage through the Jack-Knife Powerbomb and had the pinfall, but Savage's women interfered. They all went at Nash, but Nash took them all out. A returning Sid then entered the ring and took down Nash. Sid put Nash through a powerbomb, and received a load of cheers. As Sid yelled out, "Who is the man?," Tony Schiavone speculated that Sid was the driver behind the hummer that crashed in the limousine Nash was in.
WCW Slamboree - May 9, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan, and Mike Tenay Live from St. Louis, MO Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Kidman vs. Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko vs. Raven and Saturn for the Tag Team Titles • Raven and Saturn defeated Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko (w/Arn Anderson) and Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Kidman with Raven's Evenflow DDT, to capture the Tag Team Titles. - Three men from each team were in the ring at the sametime, and each wrestler could only tag in their own partner. The action was non-stop. As the match went on, someone in a Sting mask and a baseball bat knocked Kidman off the top rope, after Kidman was set to execute his Shooting Star Press. Raven then put Kidman through the Evenflow DDT for the win. At the sametime, Dean Malenko had Saturn in the Texas Cloverleaf, but Saturn would not submit. The person unmasked and revealed himself as Kanyon, who was aligned with Raven and Saturn. Konnan vs. Stevie Ray, Rick Steiner Interview • Konnan defeated Stevie Ray (w/NWO Black and White) via Pinfall. - Before the match, Konnan hyped up the crowd with his introduction and did the line where he told The NWO Black and White to toss his salad and peal his potato. As the match went on, Rey Mysterio, Jr. made his way down and fought off Horace and Vincent. He then helped Konnan take the win, by pulling down Stevie Ray to the mat. • Backstage, Mark Madden and Chad Damiani interviewed Rick Steiner about his upcoming Television Title match with Booker T. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobs in a Hardcore Match • Hardcore Match, Falls Count Anywhere: Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Brian Knobs with a Suplex. - Before the match, in the backstage area, Diamond Dallas Page and Bam Bam Bigelow seemed to come up with some sort of an agreement. Cookie sheets, trash cans, chairs, buckets, and many more objects were used in the chaotic match. At one point, Bigelow and Brian Knobs brawled down the asile and into the crowd. Knobs jumped off the ledge of the stands, onto Bigelow, but misshot his landing. Bigelow the suplexed Knobs through a table and made the pin. Booker T. vs. Rick Steiner for the Television Title • Rick Steiner defeated Booker T. with the Steiner Bulldog, to capture the Television Title. - The match was very slow between the two, and was basically back and forth. As it went on, Booker T. used a series of his kicks on Rick Steiner, and had the win with the Missle Dropkick, but Scott Steiner ran in and surprisingly made the save for his own brother. After Scott tripped Booker, Rick caught Booker with the Steiner Bulldog for the win. Gorgeous George vs. Charles Robinson • Gorgeous George (w/Randy Savage, Madusa, Miss Madness) defeated Charles Robinson (w/Ric Flair, Asia) with the Big Elbow. - "Little Nature Boy" Charles Robinson had a new haircut, blonde hair, a robe, and basically all other things similar to Ric Flair. Ric Flair and the built nurse, Asia, accompanied Robinson. Ric Flair said Madusa and Miss Madness could ride Space Mountain, but Gorgeous George could take on Robinson. Robinson told George after he was done making her submit to the Figure-Four Leglock, she could ride Space Mountain. Randy Savage then said, regardless, George would kick Robinson's ass. Robinson strutted like Flair. George had Robinson screaming after his wrist was locked up, followed by a full nelson. On the outside of the ring, Robinson got mad at Miss Madness (Starla Saxton) and scoop slammed her to the concrete floor. George nailed Robinson with some chest slaps. Robinson was thrown to the turnbuckle and flipped over ala Flair. Robinson later worked on George's knee and put her through the Figure-Four Leglock, but George reversed it. Flair entered the ring and tried to turn Robinson over. Savage took care of Flair, but Flair ended up taking him down. George then nailed Robinson with the Big Elbow for the win, which meant Savage was reinstated into WCW. Scott Steiner vs. Buff Bagwell for the United States Title • Scott Steiner defeated Buff Bagwell by making him submit to the Steiner Recliner, to retain the United States Title. - The fans got to Scott Steiner throughout the match. As Steiner continued to dominate, he decided to bring in a chair, but it backfired, as Buff Bagwell slammed it into his face. Steiner intentionally shoved the referee where he was squashed by he (Steiner) and Bagwell. Rick Steiner ran down and nailed Bagwell with a chair, which let Steiner put Bagwell in the Steiner Recliner for the win. Ric Flair vs. Roddy Piper for the Presidency of WCW • Ric Flair (w/Arn Anderson, Asia) defeated Roddy Piper via Pinfall, with Piper actually capturing the Presidency of WCW. - Before the match, Ric Flair told referee Johnny Boone he was fired and to get his ass out of the building. Charles Robinson ended up officiating the match. Several chest slaps were thrown. Flair got in his low-blows, with Robinson acting as if he didn't notice. Flair later begged off, but Piper just continued his assault. At several points, Piper had Flair pinned, but Robinson acted as if he wasn't there to make the count. Piper had Flair finished off with a submission maneuver, and even said he gave up, but Robinson didn't call anything. Arn Anderson entered to take down Piper, but Piper put him through his Sleeper Hold. Asia entered, with Piper giving her a kiss and then a Sleeper Hold. When Piper turned around, Flair nailed him with a foreign object, which let Flair take the pin. Following the match, Eric Bischoff made his way down. He told Flair to shut the hell up, to a huge pop. Bischoff said he had done a lot of wrong things in the past, but Piper had won the match, not Flair. Bischoff told Flair to bite him. Flair yelled out, "I'm the boss." Piper then said to Flair, "You're fired!" Flair made his way down the aisle, getting into the faces of the fans. Bischoff told production people to turn Flair's microphone off, which they did. Piper then told Bischoff, "Thank you," and they both hugged each other. Piper was apparently the new President of WCW. Sting vs. Goldberg • Sting and Goldberg went to a No-Contest. - Sting and Goldberg had a stare off in the beginning. Both caused each other to take rests on the outside. Sting later started to work on Goldberg's knee to gain the advantage. Out came Bret Hart, out of no where, and nailed Goldberg repeatedly with a chair. The referee called the match. Scott and Rick Steiner made their ways down and worked on Sting and Goldberg. Tony Schiavone noted that The Steiner Brothers just wanted to make a statement that they were back together. Goldberg tried to get up and fight, but couldn't. Diamond Dallas Page vs. Kevin Nash for the Heavyweight Title • Kevin Nash defeated Diamond Dallas Page with the Jack-Knife Powerbomb, to capture the Heavyweight Title. - Diamond Dallas Page dominated by slowly wearing down Kevin Nash throughout the match. Kevin Nash started to fight back with punches and threw DDP into an exposed turnbuckle. Nash nailed DDP with the Jack-Knife Powerbomb, but Savage once again helped DDP from losing the Heavyweight Title. Eric Bischoff made his way down with security to guide Savage out of the ring. Bischoff told referee, Nick Patrick, that the match would continue. A chair was brought in at that point. Nash took off his straps and slammed DDP down with the Jack-Knife Powerbomb, to make the pinfall.
WCW Spring Stampede - April 11, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan Live from Tacoma, Washington • Juventud Guerrera defeated Blitzkrieg with the Juvi Driver, to earn a Cruiserweight Title shot. - It was announced the winner of the match would take on the winner of the Cruiserweight Title match between Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Kidman the following night on Nitro. There were many creative maneuvers and nearfalls. At one point during the match, Blitzkrieg missed his Sky Twister finisher, with Juventud Guerrera attempting to counter with the Juvi Driver, but Blitzkrieg escaped. Blitzkrieg later tried to take down Guerrera from the top rope, but Guerrera ended up nailing Blitzkrieg with an awesome Juvi Driver from the top rope. • Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Hak (w/Chastity) with Greetings from Asbury Park. - Many objects were used in the hardcore match, such as a kendo stick, tables, chair, salad bowls, trash can, ladder, broom, and more. At one point, Bam Bam Bigelow sprayed fire extinguisher material onto Chastity. Hak put Bigelow through his Russian Legsweep on the outside of the ring. Bigelow later came back with Greetings from Asbury Park through a table for the win. • Juventud Guerrera was interviewed at the Internet broadcast position. He said he would get the Cruiserweight Title back the following night on Nitro. He had an icepack on his shoulder. • Scotty Riggs defeated Mikey Whipwreck with the Flying Forearm. - Mikey Whipwreck put up a tough fight for an arrogant Scotty Riggs, but Riggs ended up taking the win with his Flying Forearm. • Konnan defeated Disco Inferno with a Last Dance. - Konnan hyped up the crowd with his introduction. Konnan said Disco Inferno didn't know how to dress and called him a strawberry. Disco put up a tough fight for Konnan, at one point kicking out of Konnan's cradle DDT, or 187, maneuver. Konnan later countered Disco's Last Dance maneuver, and Konnan executed one of his own Last Dances for the win. • Rey Mysterio, Jr. defeated Kidman with the top rope Huracanrana, to retain the Crusierweight Title. - There were many great high-flying maneuvers in the match, including a bulldog from the top rope. Several other variations of the bulldog were executed, with both men kicking out of the pinfalls. At one point, Kidman had Rey Mysterio, Jr. set for the Shooting Star Press, but Mysterio moved out of position. Mysterio later took the win with his tope rope Huracanrana. • Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko (w/Arn Anderson) defeated Raven and Perry Saturn via Pinfall. - Arn Anderson helped Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko throughout a match that was officiated by Charles Robinson. Dean Malenko had the Texas Cloverleaf going, but was unsuccessful at taking the win. At one point during the match, Raven put Dean Malenko through the Evenflow DDT, but Chris Benoit made a big save. A chair was thrown in the ring. Perry Saturn almost put Malenko through a table, but Anderson made the save, causing Saturn to crash through the wood. Later, Anderson came in the ring and clocked Saturn with a chair. Benoit did his diving headbutt onto Raven, to let Malenko make the pin. • United States Title Finals: Scott Steiner defeated Booker T. via Pinfall to capture the United States Title. - The match between Scott Steiner and Booker T. was a pure brawl. As it continued, the referee was squashed. Booker had the win, but the referee was knocked out. Booker went for the Missle Dropkick, but was knocked down after Steiner bumped into the turnbuckle. Steiner later executed a rare frankensteiner, but Booker kicked out of the pin. Steiner nailed Booker with an illegal object, as another referee came in to check on the condition of the knocked out referee. Steiner then made a pin to become the United States Champion. • Rey Mysterio, Jr. was interviewed at the Internet broadcast position. He talked about remaining Tag Team Title partners with Kidman, despite their Cruiserweight Title match. He also discussed his upcoming Cruiserweight Title match against Juventud Guerrera on Nitro. • Goldberg defeated Kevin Nash (w/Lex Luger and Elizabeth) with the Jackhammer. - Kevin Nash said, "Hey, yo," and that The Wolfpac was in the house. Nash dominated in the beginning. At one point during the match, Goldberg accidently speared the referee. Lex Luger then came in and clocked Goldberg with a chair. Goldberg later sent Luger to the floor with a big boot. Goldberg speared and Jackhammered Nash for the win, as Goldberg gained retribution on Nash since Starrcade. • Diamond Dallas Page defeated Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan, and Sting with the Diamond Cutter, to capture the Heavyweight Title. - All four men were in the ring at the same time. Randy Savage was the Guest Referee, with his beautiful female valet Gorgeous George. At one point during the match, Hollywood Hogan put the Leg Drop on Diamond Dallas Page, but a save was made. Hogan then started to favor his knee, thanks to Ric Flair. Flair later put Hogan in the Figure-Four Leglock, but Hogan reversed it, plus there was interference. Many of Hogan's opponent started to work on Hogan's knee. DDP put him through a figure-four around the turnbuckle, similar to Bret Hart's maneuver. WCW officials, including Eric Bischoff, came down to tend to Hogan's knee and took him back to the locker room. The match turned into a three-way. As the match went on, out of no-where, Savage gave Flair the Big Elbow. DDP then put Flair through the Diamond Cutter, to capture his first Heavyweight Title. • Highlights were shown throughout the show of what led up to the majority of the matches. Gene Okerlund also gave a brief hotline plug in the beginning.
WCW Uncensored - March 14, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Louisville, Kentucky Kidman vs. Mikey Whipwreck for the Cruiserweight Title • Kidman defeated Mikey Whipwreck with the Shooting Star Press, to retain the Cruiserweight Title. - Mikey Whipwreck was immediately booed in his debut match. Bobby Heenan called him "Shipwreck," as well as many other names, but eventually said he liked him a lot. Whipwreck took down Kidman with several submission and rest holds. Kidman favored his knee early in the match after hitting a successful springboard dive to the outside of the ring. After Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press, he made the pin. Harlem Street Fight: Stevie Ray vs. Vince, Chris Jericho Interview • Harlem Street Fight: Stevie Ray defeated Vince with the Slapjack, to gain control of NWO Black and White. - Stevie Ray and Vince first used the guardrail to their advantage. They both took it to the stands of the arena. They took it to a row of chairs, where you could hear chairs crashing against each other. Horace was near ringside, saying "I'm the leader." He threw the slapjack into the ring, and said he didn't care who used it. After Vince failed to hit Ray with the slapjack (foreign object), Ray put him through the Slapjack (finishing maneuver) for the win, to gain control of the NWO Black and White. • Backstage at the Internet broadcast position, Mark Madden interviewed Chris Jericho about his upcoming Dog Collar Match with Saturn. Jericho basically insulted Saturn, saying he looked ridiculous. Kevin Nash vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr. • Kevin Nash (w/Lex Luger and Elizabeth) defeated Rey Mysterio, Jr. with the Jack-Knife Powerbomb. - Kevin Nash first hyped up the crowd by saying "Wolfpac in the house." Rey Mysterio, Jr. dominated in the beginning with several high-flying maneuvers. As Mysterio continued his advantage, Lex Luger tripped him, which let Nash dominate with his power. Nash put Mysterio through the Jack-Knife Powerbomb for the win Karate-Handicap Match: Ernest Miller and Sonny Onoo vs. Jerry Flynn • Karate-Handicap Match: Jerry Flynn defeated Ernest Miller and Sonny Onoo via Pinfall. - Sonny Onoo entered the ring only when Jerry Flynn was knocked out by Ernest Miller. He came in at one point, but when he discovered Flynn still had the energy to continue, Miller was immediately tagged in. Onoo had Flynn's ponytail that he cut off the previous Monday on Nitro. Flynn later pinned Onoo. Miller tried to make the save, but couldn't make it in the ring in time by time the referee's hand went down for the third time. Hardcore Match: Raven vs. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Hak • Hak defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and Raven (w/Chastity) via Pinfall. - The ring was a total mess in the beginning, with a ton of objects everywhere. Bam Bam Bigelow first took everyone down with a trash can. A ton of other things were in the ring such as a mailbox, ironing board, cookie sheet, hockey stick, fire extinguisher, and more. The crowd chanted "ECW" a few times during the match. Hak kept popping up each time he was knocked down. A table was brought in, which Hak was put through. Hak caned Bam Bam Bigelow. Chastity came into the ring to protect her brother Raven from a hit from Hak's cane. Hak shoved Chastity out of the way and clocked Raven with the cane. Another table was brought in, which prompted Tony Schiavone to say, "There must of been a buffet before the match." Chastity threw in some tape to Raven, which he used to tie around the hands of Hak. Raven clocked Hak with four chair shots. Bigelow entered the ring and gave Raven Greetings from Asbury Park, but Bigelow chose not to pin him and instead grab another table. As Bigelow went for a moonsault, Chastity used the fire extinguisher on him, which caused Bigelow to crash onto a table. Out of no where, Chastity used the fire extinguisher on Raven, and turned to the side of Hak. Hak finished off Raven and made the pin. Lumberjack-Belt Match: Curt Hennig and Barry Windham vs. Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit for the Tag Team Titles • Lumberjack-Belt Match: Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit (w/Arn Anderson) defeated Curt Hennig and Barry Windham with Benoit's Diving Headbutt, to become the new Tag Team Champions. - The lumberjacks that surrounded the ring with belts were Norman Smiley, Chris Adams, Prince Iaukea, Hugh Morrus, Kenny Kaos, Kendall Windham, Bobby Duncum, Jr., and Meng. Mike Tenay mentioned it was not fair to have Kendall as a lumberjack since he was related to Barry Windham. Curt Hennig made eye contact with Kendall in the very beginning. Arn Anderson made his way down during the match and encouraged Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit to fight on throughout. Both teams used the lumberjacks to their advantage. At one point during the match, Malenko had Hennig in the Texas Cloverleaf, but Windham made the save. The lumberjacks on the outside started to brawl amongst themselves. After Arn Anderson knocked out Hennig with a tirejack, Benoit hit his Diving Headbutt. Benoit made the pin, while Malenko took care of Windham. Dog Collar Match: Saturn vs. Chris Jericho, Mikey Whipwreck Interview • Dog Collar Match: Saturn defeated Chris Jericho with the Death Valley Driver. - Saturn was using a variation of Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" song. He was wearing a dress made out of chains. He was also wearing make-up and yellow eye-contacts. Chris Jericho sent Ralphus backstage, because he wouldn't listen to him. Two collars were hooked on the necks of Jericho and Saturn, with a chain connecting the two wrestlers. At one point during the match, Saturn yanked Jericho from the ring to the guardrail. Jericho strapped Saturn in the Lion Tamer, but Saturn smartly pulled the chain, which choked Jericho. Saturn later hit two Death Valley Drivers on Jericho for the win. • Backstage at the Internet broadcast position, Mark Madden and Chad Damiani interviewed Mikey Whipwreck about his loss to Kidman. Whipwreck remained happy, and was proud of the effort he put up in his Cruiserweight Title match with Kidman. Scott Steiner vs. Booker T. for the Television Title • Booker T. defeated Scott Steiner (w/Buff Bagwell) via Pinfall, to become the new Television Champion. - Scott Steiner taunted Booker T. a lot in the beginning. Booker had a pin at one point, but Buff Bagwell pulled him out of the ring. Steiner took the advantage. When Booker went for a top rope maneuver, Bagwell knocked him off, which let Steiner come on top. Steiner was very cocky that he would finish off Booker easily, so he had Bagwell enter the ring with a chair. Steiner held onto Booker, but Bagwell accidently nailed Steiner. Booker then made the pin for the victory. First-Blood: Hollywood Hogan vs. Ric Flair for the Heavyweight Title • Ric Flair defeated Hollywood Hogan by making him submit to the Figure-Four Leglock, to become the new Heavyweight Champion. - Stipulations: The Hollywood Hogan vs. Ric Flair Heavyweight TItle match was First-Blood, which meant the first one to shed blood, lost. The match would take place in a steel cage, with no doors and barbed wire at the top. If Flair lost, he was banned from WCW, but if he won, he could take over WCW permanently. Before the match, Ric Flair had a statement. Flair loudly told the referee not to stop the match if there were any little scratches, but rather to his discression. Flair told the a fan in the crowd to shut up, which received a small course of boos. Early in the match, Hollywood Hogan called out to the fans with his ear, which was unusal. Hogan dragged down the barbed wire to the ring and scrapped it across the forehead of Flair, who was already bleeding. The referee didn't call anything. Hogan executed the legdrop, but he couldn't make a pin. Flair decked Hogan with a foreign object, which busted him open. David Flair made his way down to the ring with Samantha (Torrie Wilson) and cheered on Hogan. The crowd was chanting and cheering Hogan. Flair told his son he would be 14-Time Heavyweight Champion in a cocky way. Tony Schiavone said Flair was obsessed with becoming the champion. Arn Anderson made his way down and clocked David. Samantha got on the back of Anderson, but he shoved her off. Meanwhile, in the ring, Flair put Hogan in the Figure-Four Leglock to become the 14-Time Heavyweight Champion and to become the permanent WCW President. It was a very unusual finish; the pin came quickly and it was a First-Blood match where no pinfalls or submissions could lead you to a victory.
WCW Super Brawl IX - February 21, 1999 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Oakland, California Pre-show Happenings, Booker T. vs. Disco Inferno • The show started off with the mysterious woman (Torrie Wilson) finding out she would be attending Super Brawl IX, courtesy of the man behind the camera. ... A special video was shown of what led up to the Finals of the Tag Team Title Tournament between the teams of Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit and Curt Hennig and Barry Windham. ... Gene Okerlund plugged the WCW Hotline. • Booker T. defeated Disco Inferno with the Harlem Hangover. - Booker T. wanted to work on Disco Inferno before finishing him off with the Missle Dropkick, but it backfired. Disco took the advantage, but Booker later came back with a Harlem Hangover from the top rope for the win. Return Dress Match: Saturn vs. Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Konnan Interview • Dress Match: Chris Jericho (w/Ralphus) defeated Saturn via Countout. - Ralphus was once again wearing his pink dress, support pantie-holes, and pearl earings. Saturn was wearing a dress as well. Ironically, Scott Dickinson was refereeing the match, after his 30-day suspension for mistreating Saturn. Before the match, Chris Jericho insulted Saturn for wearing a dress, calling him a cross-dresser, an embarassment, idiot, and more. At one point during the match, Saturn had Jericho in the Rings of Saturn in a great position, but Jericho made it to the ropes. Saturn hit Jericho with the Death Valley Driver. Dickinson told Saturn he had the win, but Saturn nailed him with the DVD. Saturn walked out of the ring, saying, "Life's a drag." Saturn could of gotten the dress off of him, but decided to finish off the match the way he did. • Backstage, Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Konnan were interviewed at the Internet broadcast position. They discussed their upcoming Mask vs. Hair match with Kevin Nash and Lex Luger. Kidman vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. for the Cruiserweight Title • Kidman defeated Chavo Guerrero, Jr. with the Shooting Star Press, to retain the Cruiserweight Title.,br> - It was announced during the match that as of a result of Rey Mysterio's attack on Lex Luger on the 2/18 Thunder, Luger wouldn't be able to wrestle the match. Kevin Nash had a replacement, but it was unknown at the time. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. put up a tough fight for Kidman, but Kidman (hopefully) settled their differences with his Shooting Star Press. Tag Team Title Tournament Finals: Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko vs. Curt Hennig and Barry Windham • Tag Team Title Tournament Finals: Match 1 - Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko defeated Curt Hennig and Barry Windham, Match 2 - Curt Hennig and Barry Windham defeated Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko, to become the new Tag Team Champions. - Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko had wrestle two matches if they won the first one, since they previously lost one match in the double-elimination Tag Team Title Tournament. Curt Hennig and Barry Windham didn't lose any matches. As a long match continued, Dean Malenko finally put Barry Windham in the Texas Cloverleaf. Curt Hennig almost stopped the submission maneuver, but Chris Benoit held him back. In the second match, which was automatically underway, Windham started to choke Malenko with a belt, while the referee was distracted. Windham then made the pin, to let he and Hennig become the new Tag Team Champions. Mask vs. Hair: Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Konnan vs. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash • Mask vs. Hair: Kevin Nash and Scott Hall (w/Lex Luger and Elizabeth) defeated Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Konnan via Pinfall. - Rey Mysterio's mask and Elizabeth's hair were on the line. Scott Hall was Lex Luger's replacement. Luger hit Konnan, and Rey Mysterio, Jr. was left alone. Mysterio then knocked out Kevin Nash with his kneebrace. Mysterio wanted to make the pin, but the referee was distracted. Scott Hall then nailed Mysterio with the Outsider Edge, and put Nash on top of Mysterio, for the win. Mysterio then was forced to take his mask off, with Konnan undoing the straps. Scott Steiner vs. Diamond Dallas Page for the Television Title and Kimberly • Scott Steiner (w/Buff Bagwell) defeated Diamond Dallas Page by making him submit to the Steiner Recliner, to retain the Television Title and get Kimberly for 30 days. - At one point during the match, Scott Steiner nailed Diamond Dallas Page with a chair, while Buff Bagwell distracted the referee. Steiner tried to remove the turnbuckle pad with boa-cutters, but DDP didn't let him. Steiner surprisingly executed his famous Frankensteiner. He then made a pin, but DDP kicked out. Steiner later put DDP in the Steiner Recliner. DDP didn't tap out, but blacked out. Steiner not only retained the Television Title, but would get DDP's wife, Kimberly, for 30 days. A stretcher was brought down for DDP, and he was hauled out. Bam Bam Bigelow Interview, Roddy Piper vs. Scott Hall for the United States Title • Backstage, Bam Bam Bigelow was interviewed at the Internet broadcast position. Bigelow discussed his upcoming match with Goldberg. • Scott Hall (w/Disco Inferno) defeated Roddy Piper via Pinfall, to become the new United States Champion. - Disco Inferno helped out Scott Hall throughout the match. At one point, Roddy Piper had Hall in the sleeper, but Hall got out. With help from Kevin Nash, Scott Hall took the win, after using the ropes as leverage. In the end, Piper wouldn't give the United States Title to Hall, so he was attacked by The Wolfpac members. Goldberg vs. Bam Bam Bigelow • Goldberg defeated Bam Bam Bigelow with the Jackhammer. - Bam Bam Bigelow was well-prepared for Goldberg, as he put up a tough fight. Goldberg remained victorious, however, after the spear and Jackhammer. Hollywood Hogan vs. Ric Flair for the Heavyweight Title • Hollywood Hogan defeated Ric Flair via Pinfall, to retain the Heavyweight Title. - Ric Flair was busted open during the match that was a pure brawl. The mysterios woman (Torrie Wilson) made her way down to the ringside area. She immediately slapped Ric Flair. A masked man made his way down, and stunned Flair with a taser, which let Hollywood Hogan make the pin. The masked man took his mask off, and revealed himself as Flair's son, David. David started to kiss with Wilson. Tony Schiavone mentioned that Flair had dedicated the match to his family. The rest of The Wolfpac made their ways down to the ring to celebrate, as the show went off the air.
WCW Souled Out Report - January 17, 1999 Ric Flair Press Conference, Goldberg injured, Match 1 - Chris Benoit vs. Mike Enos • Before the show officially started, pre-recorded footage was shown of a Ric Flair press conference. Flair discussed matters on WCW, basically saying they would remain supreme. • Backstage, Goldberg was on the floor, favoring his knee. He was yelling out loud. The announcers said they had no idea what happened, and all the new of was that there was a disturbance backstage. Note from RWIN: We know that Goldberg's knee has legitimately been giving him trouble lately, and he made need to get it scoped sooner or later. • Chris Benoit defeated Mike Enos by making him submit to the Crippler Crossface. - Mike Enos put up a tough fight for Chris Benoit, but Benoit pulled off the victory with his Crippler Crossface submission maneuver. Match 2 - Norman Smiley vs. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. • Norman Smiley defeated Chavo Guerrero, Jr. by making him submit to the Norman Conqest. - Norman Smiley had an urn with him. Chavo Guerrero, Jr. was angry and fighting with a lot of intensity. During the match, Tony Schiavone announced that Goldberg would still wrestle his Ladder-Taser match with Scott Hall later in the show. Smiley later put on the Norman Conquest (Chicken Wing) on Chavo. Chavo tried to fight it, but eventually submitted. Match 3 - Fit Finlay vs. Van Hammer • Fit Finlay defeated Van Hammer with the Tombstone Piledriver. - Fit Finlay's original opponent was scheduled to be Steve McMichael, but an explanation wasn't giving to why he wasn't there. Finlay dominated the match with his aggressiveness and won with his Tombstone Piledriver. Match 4 - Wrath vs. Bam Bam Bigelow • Bam Bam Bigelow defeated Wrath with Greetings from Asbury Park. - Both put up a tough fight, but Bam Bam Bigelow hit Greetings from Asbury Park from out of no-where, to take the win. Match 5 - Konnan vs. Lex Luger • Lex Luger defeated Konnan by making him submit to the Torture Rack. - Konnan came out with entrance music from his music video. Konnan did his usual introduction at the beginning, but without mentioning The Wolfpac. He taunted Lex Luger, as he made his way out. Before the match, Lex Luger said he had nothing but love for Konnan, and he offered Konnan to walk out, which was the easy way. Luger said all that happened was that Konnan made the B-Team and not the A-Team. Konnan decided not to leave and just attacked Luger, meaning the match was underway. As the match went on, Elizabeth made her way down to ringside. Konnan put on the Tequilla Sunrise, but Elizabeth sprayed black spraypaint in Konnan's eyes, which let Luger capitalize with the Torture Rack for the win. Mike Tenay said, "Boy, does she [Elizabeth] have good timing." Konnan was helped out by Danny Young and Mickey Jay. Match 6 - Chris Jericho vs. Saturn • Chris Jericho (w/Ralphus) defeated Saturn via Pinfall. - The stipulation was that whoever lost would have to wear a dress for 90 days. Chris Jericho and Ralphus had the dress in a paper bag. Jericho's favorite referee, Scott Dickinson, was wrestling the match. Apparently, according to Tony Schiavone, Jericho had buttered up Dickinson to get him to think that Saturn hated him. At one point during the match, Saturn fought out the Lion Tamer. A small package was made, and Dickinson did a fast pin, to let Jericho take the victory. Saturn was then forced to put on the dress, as Jericho, Ralphus, and Dickinson laughed. Note from RWIN: The stipulation where if Chris Jericho lost, he could not wrestle for 90 days, was not added after all. That stipulation had something to do with if Jericho did not re-sign with WCW, he would be taken off all Nitro programs. Match 7 - Kidman vs. Rey Mysterio, Jr. vs. Juventud Guerrera vs. Psychosis for the Cruiserweight Title • Kidman defeated Juventud Guerrera, Psychosis, and Rey Mysterio, Jr. with the Shooting Star Press, to retain the Cruiserweight Title. - Kidman could of lost the Cruiserweight Title without even being in the ring. He and Rey Mysterio, Jr. started off the match. All four wrestlers executed many high-flying maneuvers, and they were continuous. There were also a lot of nearfalls. Out of no-where, Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press on Juventud Guerrera, to retain the Cruiserweight Title. Match 8 - Ric and David Flair vs. Curt Hennig and Barry Windham • Ric and David Flair (w/Arn Anderson) defeated Curt Hennig and Barry Windham via Pinfall. - Before the match, Ric Flair called Curt Hennig and Barry Windham Horsemen rejects. Hennig said he would beat both of the Flair's asses. Hennig said he wanted Arn Anderson out of there, but then decided not to complain, because he thought Anderson supposedly couldn't do anything. Flair told Hennig to keep his mouth shut, or he could be fired and go to the WWF or some other joint. Hennig and Windham just talked trash in the ring most of the time. Ric was in the ring for a long amount of time. At one point, Anderson helped Flair get back in the match, but Hennig took down Anderson with a double axe-handle. David Flair started the match and ended the match with the pin. Afterward, all members of Wolfpac/NWO and Four Horsemen made their ways in. The brawl was everywhere. The Wolfpac/NWO overpowered The Four Horsemen. Ric was handcuffed to the ropes. Hogan whipped Flair's son with a belt, and Ric was forced to watch. The crowd chanted, "We want Goldberg" and then, "We want Sting." It was all done for Eric Bischoff, as Hogan revealed to the camera. "NWO" was spraypainted on the Flair's back. Match 9 - Goldberg vs. Scott Hall in a Ladder-Taser Match • Ladder-Taser Match: Goldberg defeated Scott Hall. - Scott Hall said he had some good and bad news. The good news was everyone got to see him, and the bad news was that once Goldberg found out he would take on Hall, he urinated in his pants, slipped in it, and hurt his knee. Hall claimed he not only ended Goldberg's winning streak, but his career. Hall wanted his hand to be raised, because Goldberg supposedly wouldn't make it. But Goldberg's music played, and he made his way out, with a kneebrace on his left knee. Goldberg favored the knee throughout the match. Hall was about to reach the taser after climbing the later, but Goldberg knocked him down. Goldberg went for it, but Disco Inferno ran down and knocked off Goldberg. Hall grabbed the taser and began to stun Goldberg, but Goldberg fought out. Goldberg found the taser and stunned Disco. Goldberg came into the ring with the taser. Hall was begging Goldberg not to do anything. Goldberg speared, Jackhammered, and stunned Hall, to take the win. Bam Bam Bigelow ran in at the end, and Goldberg had to fight him off. Hall grabbed the taser and began to stun Goldberg and Bigelow, as the show went off the air.
WCW Starrcade Report - December 27, 1998 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Washington, D.C. • It was announced that in order to fight Ric Flair, Eric Bischoff banned Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Chris Benot, and Steve McMichael from the arena. • Kidman defeated Rey Mysterio, Jr. and Juventud Guerrera via Pinfall, to retain the Cruiserweight Title. - There were many nearfalls in the match. Eddie Guerrero made his way down and distracted the referee. He clocked Kidman, but Kidman kicked out of the pin once Juventud Guerrera attempted to pin him. Kidman then rolled up Guerrera to take the win. After the match, Guerrero yelled at both Juvi and Rey Mysterio, Jr., totally putting them down. Guerrero challenged Kidman to a Cruiserweight Title match, and Kidman accepted. The match got underway right then and there. • Kidman defeated Eddie Guerrero with the Shooting Star Press, to retain the Cruiserweight Title. - Rey Mysterio, Jr., Kidman, and Eddie Guerrero's Bodyguard all remained at ringside, and each one had some sort of involvement (interference) in the match. With help from Mysterio, Kidman successfully executed the Shooting Star Press to take the win. • Norman Smiley defeated Prince Iaukea by making him submit to the Norman Conquest (Chicken Wing). • Scott Hall Interview. - Scott Hall was not scheduled to make an appearance at this time of the show. Hall mentioned how Kevin Nash said Hall had to prove himself to everyone. Hall said that he had nothing to prove to anyone except for himself. • Saturn defeated Ernest Miller (w/Sonny Onoo) with the Death Valley Driver. - Before the match, Ernest Miller insulted the crowd and Saturn. Ernest Miller gave Saturn five seconds to leave the ring, but Saturn did not leave. Sonny Onoo interfered, and tried to go for Saturn, but accidently hit Miller instead. Saturn then took the advantage, and finished off the match with the Death Valley Driver. • Ric Flair Interview - (Conducted by Gene Okerlund) - Ric Flair was back in his robe. Flair said he didn't care of the rest of The Four Horsemen were there, because Eric Bischoff would still get his ass kicked. Flair, in his own terms, said Bischoff would go down in the match. • Backstage, Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell argued with Konnan. Konnan was very skeptical of a possible relationship between NWO-Hollywood and Lex Luger. • It was announced that the Heavyweight Title bout between Goldberg and Kevin Nash would be a No Disqualification Match. • Scott Norton and Brian Adams (w/Vincent) defeated Fit Finlay and Jerry Flynn with Norton's Jack-Knife Powerbomb. - Scott Norton and Brian Adams had a lot of power to dominate Fit Finlay and Jerry Flynn. Scott Norton finished off Flynn with the Jack-Knife Powerbomb for an NWO-Hollywood victory. • Eric Bischoff Interview - (Conducted by Gene Okerlund) - Eric Bischoff discussed matters on Ric Flair. Bischoff said that the only reason Flair was wrestling the match was because Flair supposedly was out of money. • Konnan defeated Chris Jericho (w/Ralphus) by making him submit to the Lion Tamer, to retain the Television Title. - Before the match, Chris Jericho bragged about himself and taunted Konnan. At one point during the match, Jericho had Konnan in the Lion Tamer, but Konnan got out. Konnan later strapped Jericho in the Tequilla Sunrise, to take the win. • Backstage, The Giant was interviewed at the Internet broadcast position. • Eric Bischoff defeated Ric Flair via Pinfall. - Each time Ric Flair got his hands on Eric Bischoff, Flair was all over him. Bischoff, however, used his karate tactics at some points to gain the advantages. The referee was accidently knocked out. As Flair had Bischoff in the Figure-Four Leglock, a returning Curt Hennig ran down and handed Bischoff a foreign object. Bischoff clocked Flair with the object and then made an easy pin. • Diamond Dallas Page defeated The Giant with the Diamond Cutter. - The Giant slowly wore down Diamond Dallas Page. As the match went on, Bret Hart entered the ring and accidently hit The Giant with a chair. DDP attempted to make a pin, but The Giant surprisingly kicked out. The Giant went for the second attempt of the Chokeslam (second one being from the top rope). DDP converted the maneuver into the Diamond Cutter, to take the win. DDP and Hart exchanged a few words after the match. • No Disqualification Match: Kevin Nash defeated Goldberg with the Jack-Knife Powerbomb, to become the new Heavyweight Champion. - Goldberg hit the spear early in the match, but failed to execute the Jackhammer, after Kevin Nash responded with a low blow. During the match, both Disco Inferno and Bam Bam Bigelow interfered. Bigelow was escorted out by security. Scott Hall also interfered and used some kind of stungun on Goldberg, and Nash never saw it. Nash then executed the Jack-Knife Powerbomb, to become the new WCW Heavyweight Champion. Goldberg became 173 and 1.
WCW World War III Report - November 22, 1998 Hosted by Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, and Bobby Heenan Live from Auburn Hills, Michigan Note: The Scott Norton vs. Booker T., IWGP Heavyweight Title Match did not take place, after it was advertised by WCW on weekend programming. • Goldberg was shown walking into the arena. Also, the commentators noted that Hollywood Hogan did not show up for the pay-per-view. It was unusual, since Hogan was the one who always wanted a Heavyweight Title against Goldberg, and the 60-Man, 3-Ring Battle Royal was the perfect opportunity. • Wrath defeated Glacier with the Meltdown. -Wrath dominated Glacier. After he counted Glacier's new submission hold, he executed the Meltdown, to take the win. • Stevie Ray (w/Vincent) defeated Konnan by Disqualification. -After Stevie Ray used his slapjack on Konnan, Konnan snapped, and began to throw several hard punches to Ray. Konnan pushed the referee out of his way and was disqualified. Following the match, Booker T. came out to the aid of his brother. Booker T. told Ray that being an NWO member was the wrong decision, but Ray just ignored his brother. • Ernest Miller and Sonny Onoo defeated Saturn and Kaz Hayashi with Miller's Roundhouse Kick. -Sonny Onoo was billed as having three wins and zero losses. As Saturn attempted to get his hands on Onoo, Ernest Miller nailed him from behind with a Roundhouse Kick. Onoo then made the pin, for he and Miller to take the win. Onoo apparently became 4-0. • Chris Jericho was interviewed at the Internet broadcast position. He discussed his upcoming Cruiserweight Title match with Bobby Duncum, Jr., which would take place later in the show. • Kidman defeated Juventud Guerrera with the Shooting Star Press, to become the new Cruiserweight Champion. -Before the match, LWO members made their ways out. Juventud Guerrera joined LWO, becoming the newest member. Rey Mysterio, Jr. wanted the Cruiserweight Title shot, but Eddie Guerrero wouldn't let him. Mysterio said he would do something about it. As the match went on, Juvi was getting many negative chants from the crowd. Juvi and Kidman wrestled another excellent and close match. Both superstars would not give up after they gave it their all. As Juvi was set to throw Kidman from the top-rope, Mysterio came down, and held onto Kidman's tights. Juvi fell to the mat, which let Kidman hit the Shooting Star Press, to become the Cruiserweight Champion. LWO members made their ways out. Guerrero was furious with Mysterio. Guerrero told Mysterio he was either in or out; Mysterio was out, as he ran away. • Scott Steiner (w/Buff Bagwell) and Rick Steiner to a No-Contest. -Rick Steiner was brutally attacked before the supposed match. The NWO referee was doing the officiating. As Scott Steiner continued to destroy his brother, Goldberg ran-in to make the save. Goldberg destroyed the NWO-Hollywood members. • Scott Hall and Kevin Nash went to a No-Contest. -Scott Hall made his way out, followed by Eric Bischoff. Bischoff said it was survey time, and instructed NWO-Hollywood members to attack Hall. As Hall was out-numbered, Kevin Nash made the save, and cleared the ring. Hall and Nash fought the NWO off together. The fans chanted, "Outsiders!" Hall showed the sign of The Wolfpac, but Nash ignored him and walked away. • Chris Jericho (w/Ralphus) defeated Bobby Duncum, Jr. via Pinfall, to retain the Television Title. -Bobby Duncum, Jr. was a very aggressive opponent for Chris Jericho. At one point, Duncum fought off the Lion Tamer. After Duncum got into a scuffle with Ralphus, Jericho used the Television Belt as a weaponto take the win. • 3-Ring, 60-Man Battle Royal - Winner: Kevin Nash [Receives Heavyweight Title shot at Starrcade] -Basically, the entire WCW roster was in the Battle Royal. ... Kevin Nash dominated ring three. He threw the majority of superstars out within a matter of minutes ... At one point, more than five wrestlers tried to throw out The Giant, but were unsuccessful. ... Twenty men were left, and all moved to the center ring. ... Bam Bam Bigelow made his way in, when there were ten men left. Security and Goldberg made their ways down to put Bigelow to a stop. Goldberg and Bigelow brawled around the area, and the battle royal went to a sudden, brief stop. ... It took another five men (but this time much larger) to eliminate The Giant. ... Kevin Nash, Lex Luger, and Scott Hall were the last three left. No matter what the alliances were, all three battled with each other. Nash eliminated both Hall and Luger. ... Nash would go onto December's Starrcade pay-per-view to take on Goldberg for the Heavyweight Title. • Diamond Dallas Page defeated Bret Hart with the Diamond Cutter, to retain the United States Title. -At one point during the match, Bret Hart attempted to use an illegal object, but the referee took it away. DDP had Hart in the Sharpshooter, but Hart was able to squeeze his way out of the submission hold. The referee was accidently knocked out. Hart got the illegal object from the referee's pocket, and used it on Page. Hart strapped Page in the Sharpshooter, with the NWO referee making his way in to supposedly give Hart the victory. Referee, Mickey Jay made his way in, and said he saw Hart use the illegal object. DDP quickly nailed Hart with the Diamond Cutter. Mickey Jay made the pin, and DDP retained the United States Title.
