Some of the best-kept secrets in Texas are discounts and good deals for age 50-plus Texans. So, what better way is there to enjoy being "chronologically gifted" than by getting a discount while enjoying a great meal!
While researching my book, I discovered all franchises are not created equally in terms of their senior discount policy. You'll find that some franchise restaurants and fast food locations offer senior discounts and others don't. With that in mind, here are a few of the popular restaurant chains in Texas that may offer 10 to 25% senior discounts, senior menu items, or "early bird specials." Remember to politely ask for a senior discount or senior pricing if it isn't offered. Many restaurants have discounts, but don't advertise them.
Many IHOP, Denny's, Jim's and Waffle House restaurants offer early-bird specials or senior menu items. Most fast food franchises have some type of senior pricing including McDonald's, Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, Dairy Queen, KFC, Golden and Popeye's Fried Chicken restaurants, Mr. Gatti's, Taco Bueno, Pizza Hut, and Long John Silver's Seafood Shoppes. You'll also find senior-friendly pricing at most Furr's Cafeterias, Golden Corral Restaurants, and Shoney's restaurants, and visit Baskin Robbins for dessert!
For great atmosphere dine at the Old San Francisco Steak House. Prime Time card members (age 55 and up) and their parties up to four (any age) seated by 6:00 p.m. will receive 25% off their dinner checks, not including beverages. Discerning diners at Steak and Ale restaurants can take advantage of their Early Evenings dinner pricing seven days a week except for holidays. Or try the Taco Cabana restaurants for a fun difference.
