Ty is releasing a new line "BEANIE KIDS" that will be shipping in January. There's five girls and four boys that make-up the first
Beanie Kids set. They are:
Precious Cutie, Angel, Curly, Ginger, Tumbles, Boomer, Rascal, Chipper.
Beanie Kids are roughly the size of Beanies and have large bodies, short arms and legs and twistable hair. Keeping with Ty's global theme, the Kids come in a variety of different ethnicities and their eyes have irises. They will come in with a tush tag "numbered" first edition, second edition etc. Retailers who asked if the hang tag would be more counterfeit proof were told the indication was that is the absolute goal. Overheard from one rep to a client, Ty® is making the Kids™ in LIMITED numbers they will be very hard to get. The maximum order limit on these is very low!
1-4-00: Ty announces 2000 line. Ty's new products include
Beanie Buddies, Ty Classics, & Attic Treasures along with a new line: Baby Ty.
Also another line "Beanie Kids" is supposed to be announced real soon at the first Trade
show this year that Ty has announced, and it's on January 8.
These are wonderful additions to the Ty lines. I LOVE all the NEW products!! In addition, the Buddie line
now has 4 sizes of Buddies(Regular, Large, XLARGE, & JUMBO). These are awesome!!!

GLOBAL NEWSFLASH
I have been overwhelmed by the response to my announcement that all Beanies will retire on December 31, 1999. Since the announcement, there have been thousands of messages posted on websites worldwide discussing the discontinuation of Beanie Babies. I have received hundreds of letters from children, educators, hospitals, clinics, charities and collectors around the world asking me to reconsider my decision and create new Beanies.
After much thought, I am willing to put the fate of Beanie Babies in your hands. You make the decision. You have inspired the Beanie Babies line through your devotion to them. I will kickoff the new millennium by conducting the first live worldwide vote of its kind, a global vote to determine whether Beanie Babies should, or should not, be continued. Our Beanie Baby factories are shut down, but if you decide that new Beanie Babies should be created, I will re-launch production.
As the new millennium begins, people in every country and every time zone in the world will have an opportunity to participate in the "Beanie Babies Ballot". The global vote will begin on 12/31/99 at 6:00 a.m. EST, USA. When you access www.Ty.com you will be asked this question: "Should Ty create new Beanie Babies in the year 2000?" The website will give detailed instructions on how to cast a vote by internet or telephone at that time. On 1/2/00 at 6:00 a.m. EST, USA, the voting will come to an end. Results will be final and binding.
We will be charging an amount of U.S. $ .50 (fifty cents) per vote (which requires credit card validation). This charge should ensure integrity of the vote, as well as prevent over-voting. Ty employees/vendors/licensees are not eligible to vote. All proceeds (100%) from the vote will be donated to the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. Regardless of the outcome, children of the world will benefit from your vote. Remember that it is you that can make a difference in this world.

Mary Beth Sobolewski, editor in chief of Mary Beth's Bean Bag World
Monthly, believes that the December 24 "global newsflash" announced
on Ty, Inc.'s website today will involve the birth of a new line of
collectibles similar to Beanie Babies.
Sobolewski speculates that the company plans to replace its retired
Beanie Baby bonanza with new plush toys that may be smaller than Beanies
for easier store display and made of the same patented fabric used on
Ty's larger Beanie Buddies to counteract counterfeiting. She also
envisions hang tags equipped with holograms similar to those used on
Beanies' tush tags to further counterfeit-proof the line.

The popular Princess Beanie Baby® was launched on October 29, 1997 and retired on April 13, 1999, however Beanie collectors are still excited when they come across one. Ty Inc. launched the larger plush toy Princess Beanie Buddy® in April of 1999. Charities with which Diana was formally associated have received grants to help and support those organizations. Mr. Kanzler will travel to London in late October to visit the Fund and the Osteopathic Centre for Children’s Hospital, one of late Princess’ charities and see first hand some of the benefits of the company’s contributions.
On another report Ty Europe is running extremely low on Beanie Babies do to the unavailability of stock in connection with the upcoming retirements, and the denial of new accounts.
