The Women of Cephiro 2

Princess Emeraude
(Emeraudo Hime, Emerald, Emraude, Esmerelda)

The Princess with a secretPrincess Emeraude is the Pillar of Cephiro. What that means is she supports Cephiro on her prayers and will, and its well being relies totally on her state of mind. She summoned the Magic Knights to Cephiro after being kidnapped by the High Priest Zagato. The knights were told they were supposed to save the Princess and defeat Zagato, but that's not the real reason they were summoned. Before being kidnapped, Emeraude had fallen in love with Zagato. Because she couldn't really be the Pillar and be in love at the same time, Zagato whisked her away on the basis that he was going to "conquer Cephiro." Since a Pillar isn't allowed to suicide, no one from Cephiro can harm her, and a new Center can't be chosen until she was dead, Emeraude had summoned the Magic Knights to kill her. This was why the girls had to awake the Mashins; to be protected against the Pillar. After the Knights destroyed Zagato, Emeraude became a woman who "lives only for love" and tries to kill the Knights and destroy Cephiro. Here's what grown-up Emeraude looks like:
Bad Emeraude!
Hmm, that picture's not that great. Let's see if we can't find a better one...
SD Evil Emeraude
That's a little better. Aaaaanyways, the former Princess Emeraude pleaded with the Knights to kill her and "fulfill her true wish." After much pleading, they learned the truth and fulfilled the Princess' wish. Her last words were "At last, Zagato and I can be together. Thank you, Magic Knights." *snif* How sad!!! ;_; Emeraude and Zagato--happy at last

Presea
(Precia, Presia, Persia)

The nice chick with a thing for torturePresea is the master artisman of Cephiro. Basically, if you need a weapon, Presea is the best of the best. She's also the only person who can make evolving weapons out of the legendary mineral Escudo. She's generally a very nice person, although she seems to have a thing for torture ("Shall I pull your ears to see how long they stretch? Or shall I hang you from your ears in the kitchen?") She also was the one who watched over Mokona until the knights needed it, which wasn't very easy since Mokona is a very frisky little animal and was constantly trashing her study. In the anime, Presea is killed by Ascot's monster Atalante right after making the swords for the Knights, where as in the manga she just used up too much of her soul. In the second series, Presea gets reincarnated, and supplies the knights with new weapons... or does she? Actually, the woman in the second series *isn't* Presea. It's her twin sister Sierra. Creepy, ne?

Alcyone
(Alcione, Alshion)

The WitchAlcyone is a former student of Guru Clef's and member of the Cephiro high court. When Zagato corrupted everything and darkness took over, she switched over to his side. This is partially because Alcyone has a huge crush on Zagato and was "fighting for him." She was the first sorceress dispatched to kill the Magic Knights, but failed miserably--several times (gomen nasai, but she REALLY sucked!) In the manga, she is killed by Zagato after her battle and loss with the Knights on the outskirts of the Forest of Silence. In the anime, she just gets banished a bunch of times and ends up surviving the whole time, only to come back in the second series to try and kill the Knights a second time (doesn't this woman ever give up?)

Caldina
(Karudina, Kardina, Claudina)

Illusionist, dancer, card-shark extrordinaireCaldina is the illusionist and dancer who is "so pretty" with a "nice body" by her own admissions. She was the third one sent out to kill our three heroines. But she has one big problem; she's obsessed with money. Talk about your gold digger... Also, she's a card shark. One of the funniest parts in the series, to me that is, is where Ferio and Caldina have a poker game and she keeps winning all his money. Caldina thinks of Ascot like a little brother and often treats him like that, allowing him to live with her when he is expelled from the castle for failure. After Ascot turns good, she also joins the good fight, partly because she is so moved by what Fuu said about her and her freinds and how her belief helps her. Out of all the "bad guys," Caldina is my favorite. Also, in the second series, I do beleive something develops between Caldina and Larfaga.... hehehehe......
