My name is Diamond Lightfoot, as, no doubt, you've learned from the title of this page. And I am a druid..well, studying to be. That's something that doesn't happen overnight. You didn't know that druids still exist? Or maybe you did, but don't understand the changes that have taken place through the ages. Well granted, we aren't as many as once walked the earth, but we still remain, teaching the young of our calling the arts of healing, and listening to the trees and the earth. The trees have their own language, you see, their own alphabet, and it is called the Ogham. It was used in early Ireland, and the other Celtic countries.
Perhaps you would like to know more about the heirachy of trees, and their powers. You may find that knowledge by clicking here. And crystals and stones are important tools, also, and you may find out more about them here.
These are things we must learn, must know, if we are to grow within ourselves. There truly is power in knowledge, you know.
Druids are healers, and they walk in tune with the earth and their surroundings..they study the ways of nature..they listen and interpret dreams, knowing there are messages there.
Many were and are the philosophers, judges, and advisers. The concentrated system of learning is known as Brehon Law in Ireland. Most druids have never had to carry a weapon, being respected by those in power.
I'm not sure how to explain the rest. I have a love of knowledge, and that is what lead me to the path I take.
Currently I am studying Gaelige, and I love what I've learned so far. There are more than one kind of gaeilge..Irish, Scots, Welsh, Manx, and they are all a little different. There's also Old Irish, and modern Irish. I'm learning the modern Irish..I understand the old language is hard. I may tackle that at a later date.
I have some good links for studying Gaeilge and druidry on my Bookmarks Page .
PS.My friends, please bear in mind that druidism is a real belief..it is honorable, and set in the ways that men have followed for centuries...there are many wonderful things to embrace in druidism, and there is a place that can explain these things to you much better than I can: The Druid Grove
I am also studying the Druid Way, and have begun to post some of my studies
