This is another one of those untouchable albums, and it is possibly one of my most favorite black metal album of all time (excluding all KD/MF). I love the Norwegian language too, it is very beautiful... it fits perfectly with the beautiful music that they have created here. Check out the intro to "Alt Lys Er Svunnet Hen," the instrumental, "Sorgens Kammer," and the intro to "Guds Fortapelse..." I am still amazed at how they are able to create such incredible music. The artwork on this album is *extremely* beautiful as well, it fits the music perfectly. Just the artwork itself is worth the $15 I paid for this. Shagrath sings mostly in typical black metal style, although I think he does some clean vocals occasionally on this album. This album isn't as heavy as some of their later albums, but that doesn't make it any less of a metal album. I think it is not as fast or as "full" sounding as their later albums, but I don't think that speed is everything. I love this album, it is a *must* for any black metal fan.
