This album is very different from their first two albums, "For All Tid" and "Stormblåst." It's heavier, more like thrash metal (but still with the huge keyboard presence), and with stronger, more dominating vocals. Oh, and they sing in English (which does NOT make them a sell-out, by the way). They seem to have taken a much more direct approach in their music. There are still those beautiful moments, like the intros to "The Promised Future Aeons" and "Arcane Lifeforce Mysteria," but it is mostly heavy, thrash black metal now. One part in particular that makes this entire album worth buying is the end of "The Insight and the Catharsis." They have a guest sing in clean vocals and the keyboards have a huge, beautiful part, creating a very dramatic ending to that song. The next song, "Grotesquery Conceiled..." starts out very awesome, very brutal. I think they keyboards have a bigger presence in this album then they ever had before. Overall, I would describe this album as "fast, brutal, black metal." I would say go get this, but not until after you've already gotten "Stormblåst" and "For All Tid."
