To tell you the truth, I didn't start out liking this album very much at all. This is the first and only album I've heard by this band, and when I first heard it, I disliked it immediately. However, it's grown on me. But first some bad things: it sounds very much like a typical metal band, and the vocals are, in my opinion, pretty bad. Toxine's screaming gets on my nerves pretty fast, especially in the first song. He calms down a bit after that song, though. But there are some good things: the reason I got this album in the first place, Sharlee D'Angelo. His bass playing is as excellent as always. The other musicians, particularly the guitarists, Jensen and Richard Corpse, are also very able players. Unfortunately, they are usually covered up by the vocals. There are some great moments though: good guitar solos, song intros, etc. I find "A Paler Shade of Death," "Full Moon" and "Dead, Hot, and Ready" to be some of the better songs on the album.
