Haven of Solitude

Strolling along the water's edge
Waves gently massage my ankles
Sand softly sucks at my feet
Drawing the worries from my body

Gentle ocean breezes whisper softly
Caressing my hair
Kissing my face with soft ocean spray
Comforting me under this blanket of night

The moon casts an incredible glow
On the watery horizon
Stars dance on the water
Beckoning the sea creatures to play

The blow of a dolphin touches my ear
As he surfaces for air
Only to be joined by others
To play among the schools of fishes

Clouds begin to gather in the distance
Threatening my haven of solitude
The wind becomes more brisk
And the waves begin to pound the shore

As if my worries were even too much for "her"
The Mistress of the Sea returned them to me
In a violent display of her splendor
Leaving me breathless and spellbound

But as quickly as her fury came
The winds calmed and the seas laid
My haven of solitude had been cleansed
And was now restored to me anew
