"Woven in Rhyme"
Twisted paths laden with webs woven in rhyme,
Tendrils of words in morning light sublime.
Dew covered ground glistens, lighting the lovers way,
To a glade filled with jasmine, two hearts do stray.
The lovers lay upon a pallet of sweetest jasmine petals,
Strands of golden hair splay across his chest adorning him like medals.
Looking into the eyes of her dear prince, a single tear she shed.
Whispered words of love he spoke, her fears of woe thus fled.
Hers was a virgin heart, the day that they first met,
True love was theirs but on wings departed, his promises went unkept.
His was a virgin heart, the day that they first met,
Times had been cruel to these two lovers and he burdens much regret.
Days and months then years did pass, yet no happiness could be found,
In the arms of their true love, they knew they should be bound.
Hers was a life that had no peace, her heart denied by others,
He held the key that would join again the hearts of these two lovers.
And now the lovers, together once more, though scarred and burnt by
time,
Once more with love, their paths to share,
paths laden with webs woven in rhyme.
