Reunited
Part 2
By Lara
“Oh, God . . .” Pacey was running late. He had planned on being at the McPhee’s ten minutes ago, so he would definitely be there when Andie’s car drove up. But his father had been giving him a hard time. Even though he and his father had been getting along much better, things were still far from perfect. And now Pacey was going to be late.
He raced to the car, and sped down the driveway. His father began shouting at him from the house, but the radio was blaring and Pacey didn’t hear him.
As Pacey drove throughout Capeside, his heart was racing. He felt nervous, God only knew why. “What if we’re not as close as we were before?” he worried. He tried to convince himself that this wouldn’t be, but the thought wouldn’t vanish.
Pacey car neared the McPhee house. Andie’s father had never ended up selling the house, and Jack had moved back in a week before, to prepare for Andie’s arrival. Pacey pulled up the familiar driveway. His heart skipped a beat when he saw Mr. McPhee’s car ahead of him. He took a deep breath and stepped out of his car.
He could hardly ring the doorbell, he was so nervous. Jack answered the door smiling. “Hey, Pacey, come on in.” He turned towards the stairs.
“Andie!” he called. Immediately, running footsteps could be heard overhead. Andie appeared at the top of the stairs, like a dream. She was just as Pacey had remembered. Her hair, though a different style, had been dyed back to it’s original blond color. She had a huge smile on her face.
“Pacey!” She rushed down the stairs, and Pacey swept her up in his arms. He was no longer nervous, just the site of his love had driven those feelings of insecurity away. They embraced for the longest time, Pacey kissing the top of her head, and playing with her hair. “I’ve been waiting so long,” Andie whispered.
“I know,” Pacey replied, nearly crying for joy, “me too, Andie, me too.”
