Christmas time is drawing near. May it be a blessed season for you.
The Perfect Gift - The Giver
s the year draws to a close and we head into this holiday season, I can not think of any
better time to reflect back on the past year and thank God for all the blessings He has
given us. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve here at RHEI and the way the Lord
has honored our obedience to His calling. We are thankful that the Lord has allowed
Brother Rudy another year to take the gospel into the unbelieving world. And, we are
thankful for you, the people who support our ministry through prayer and financial
offerings.
In a few weeks we will celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus Christ. This is the
time of the year people focus on the giving and receiving of gifts. The secular world will
celebrate Christmas without acknowledging or believing in the person, Jesus Christ. What
better gift could we have asked for than the opportunity to have eternal life with a God
that loved us so much that he sent His only son to die for each and everyone so we can
have a personal relationship with Him. That eternal life began the moment He came into
our hearts. He now provides for every need that we might have. Can you think of a
better gift to give to a friend or loved one than to present to them the Good News that
Jesus Christ wants to have a personal relationship with them and wants to forgive them for
all of their sins?
I challenge you to pray that the Lord would lead people to you this year that you
would have the opportunity to share the gospel with this next year. I also ask that you
would continue to lift Brother Rudy and Ms. Lucy and the rest of us at RHEI in prayer. If
the Lord should lead you, would you continue to make your financial donations to RHEI?
Brother Rudy has a very busy schedule for 1998 and the crusades do require us to put
some money up in advance. Where the Lord calls us we will go, but He may be calling
you to send us. May God bless you and keep you in the coming year.

PRAYER REQUESTS
Pray for the pastors of the scores of churches that will participate.
Pray for Christians that with boldness they will spread the Gospel.
Pray for the team as they try to live up to God’s anticipation.
Pray for the daytime Congress for Pastors and other leaders. We are responsible for the ministry budget for over 300 of these leaders.
Pray for the unsaved to whom we will speak in an attempt to lead them to faith in Christ.
Pray for good weather. Two meetings ago, we were threatened by a Typhoon which poured water over us and brought our attendance to but a few faithful people who braved the weather.
Last year we were threatened by a hurricane that had taken over 2,000
souls.
We saw another 2,000 (and more) come to Christ in our Crusades.
Pray for the ability of the team to perform at their very best.
Pray for Evangelist/Missionary P.C. Muanthanga who will serve as our Coordinator.
Pray for his family as they share in the responsibility of the direction of our Crusade.
Pray for our safety in travel. The team will fly Thai Airlines going west, crossing the
International Dateline and on to Calcutta for a national trip to Assam.
The trip is very
tiresome but worth the sacrifice.
Pray that the team will be sensitive to every indication from above in order to see come to pass the greatest experience we have ever had.
Pray that the money needed for the Crusade will come soon.

PIEDRAS NEGRAS
The year’s meetings ended with a Crusade in Piedras Negras, Mexico. People were saved,
others came making other significant decisions, the churches were edified and new ground
was plowed. We thank the Lord for the moving of His hand. We also thank FBC of
Hondo and the Uvalde Baptist Association for their contributions to the effort. It was
Paul’s first involvement in a Crusade and very profitable.
Christmas is such a beautiful time of the year. Children, youth and adults alike are merry, all
because of the Christ of Bethlehem. It is our hope that you will have a very wonderful and

developed it that people around the world will have 24-hr. access to our page and thus our
message for a sin-sick and dying world.
A number of people have already visited our site
and with time we anticipate a great ministry through the page.

We express our deepest gratitude to Daniel García for his invaluable
help in getting us on the Internet. Now let us pray for the saved to find information
desired in Evangelism and the lost to find the way of the Cross which leads home.
Time Draws Closer For India
Around 1,000 churches have begun to pray for Revival to come to the 10-40 window which covers Assam where we will be in our Crusade. At the present, four will form the evangelistic team. Evangelist David Gonzales of Ft. Worth and Evangelist Dr. Gordon Ivey will accompany Mrs. Lucy and Brother Rudy. The ministry will be among a people
waiting for the good news. With the Lord’s help we will help thousands come to faith in Christ. There are several brethren that are considering going as a part of the team.
Pray for God’s will to be done.
Among RHEI’s costs are $5,000 for travel and $3,000 for ministry budget. After having tried to end our ministry in India, God has spoken and here we are, going back the fifth time.
Thousands have been saved and thousands more will thank us for taking them to the Cross.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! We know that $8,000 is nothing to the owner of the cattle on a thousand hills.
His people have been entrusted the use of the amount a thousand-fold multiplied.
Should the Lord speak to you about having a part in this mission, please get in touch with our offices. We must finalize the travel portion in advance of our going. We pray that enough moneys will be received before the end of the year. We will have only one-and-a-half months before our departure on Feb. 19.
Bible Conference
The Board of Directors of Ruben Hernández and our Board of Directors will join for an
extraordinary meeting January 23-24, 1998.
We will conduct a Bible Conference at
Village Parkway Baptist Church in San Antonio.
The Friday night conference at 7:00 pm
will feature Mike Gonzales of the Evangelism Division BGCT, David Galván of Garland,
Carlos Navarro of Brownsville and Ruben and Rudy Hernández.
The language used for
the evening will be be Spanish in the main. We will deal with the Biblical message on
reaching our community, state, nation, and our world for Christ. Jonathan and Eunice
Blankenship will provide the music accompanied by Larry Stewart.
On Saturday morning the two boards will meet for an unprecedented meeting.
Reports of the progress of the two ministries will be given. Other Evangelistic
Associations are invited to attend.
At 7:00 pm on Saturday we will have a banquet for friends of the two evangelistic
associations. Special music will be provided by Emi and Barbara Arce of San Antonio.
The message will be presented in English by Ellis Orozco of Corpus Christi. The Special
Feature of the evening will be the commissioning of Paul and Jennifer García as associates
with our Evangelistic Association. She has been named Office Manager and he is the
Director of Marketing.
The inspiration derives from this conference and should send people away rejoicing
in seeing what God is doing in our day. Pictorial displays will give a birds-eye view of the
two ministries. This will be launching of the celebrations leading to the 25th anniversary
of Rudy Hernández Evangelism, Int’l. and the 8th for Ruben Hernández Evangelism, Int’l.
A great time is planned for all who attend. For reservations for the Banquet please
contact our office with the number of places desired. Space is limited, so please hurry so
that we can make the appropriate preparations for your presence.
LAS VEGAS.....WE WON!
Between 75 and 100 people walked the aisles in a public profession of their faith in the Lord
Jesus Christ during our four-night Crusade in Las Vegas in October. It was the first of its
nature among the 13 Hispanic congregations there. Reports are coming in stating that
many have been baptized already and others are being discipled for this act of obedience.
Although it was their first attempt at a major effort of this nature God blessed and we all
came away feeling they will want to do it again.
