Ambrose N. Lyons
LYONS, AMBROSE N., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, in July, 1863, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “I”, of the 25th Regiment of “Louisiana Infantry”, C.S.A., later he was transferred to the 28th Louisiana, “Heavy Artillery”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 18th day of May, 1865, by Colonel Landry of the 28th Louisiana “Artillery”. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 11596.
