George E. Grey

GREY, GEORGE E., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America on the 9th day of April, 1861, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “C”, of the 27th Regiment of Virginia “Infantry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Fairfax, Virginia. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 9th day of April, 1865, by parole at Appromatox, Virginia, by General Lee’s surrender, at which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing).
