Columbus Hamilton Grubbs

GRUBBS. COLUMBUS HAMILTON, (Plot 5; Evergreen Cemetery), Born: May 22, 1847. Deceased: November 22, 1934. (Has Government Tomb Stone.), Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America in September, 1863, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “A”, 2nd Regiment “Arkansas Cavalry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Drew County, Arkansas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service by Colonel Wm. Blimmons, in May, 1865. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Applied for a Confederate pension from the State of Texas.
