Henderson F. Brack

Henderson F. Brack enlisted in Company H, 13th (Burnett's) Texas Cavalry. He was wounded in battle at Mansfield, Louisiana, and lost his left arm as a result of the wound. An accomplished fiddler, he devised a means of playing his instrument in spite of the handicap and became famous far and wide throughout East Texas and West Louisiana for his musical feats. He was married twice. The first wife was a Sutton by whom there were four children, the second wife was Louisa Stephenson. A son, Bob, by the first wife married Angeline Watson, and their son, Johnny, lives in Burkeville.
