JOHNSON, J. B., “1ST LIEUTENANT”, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America on the 2nd day of May, 1861, and served “Honorably” as a “1st Lieutenant” in Company “A”, 12th Regiment of “Mississippi Cavalry”, C.S.A. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 4th day of July, 1865, by General N. H. Harris. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor Application”…his writing).
