Able B. Lyons

LYONS, ABLE B., “1ST SERGEANT”, Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, and served “Honorably” as a “Private” in Company “F”, “Spaight’s Battalion”, of “Cavalry”, “Texas Volunteers”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Liberty County, Texas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service in May, 1865, by General J. B. McGruder. At which time he held the rank of “Private”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Applied for a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. (note: Company “F” was formed in Liberty County, Texas.)
